If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

Good morning to CQNers wherever you may be on this bright and sunny morning.

Following on yesterday’s news that Rangers FC are retiring the No. 12 jersey as a token of gratitude to their fans, a club spokesman has announced this morning that the club will also change the club motto from “Ready” to “Deady”.

The club is also likely to announce within the next fortnight further plans to retire shirt numbers 1 to 11 and several random double digit numbers between 13 and 99.

When asked to comment on these changes John McMillan, head of the Rangers’ Supprters Association said it was disgraceful that Neil Lennon didn’t have to serve a full 6 match ban and that the Celtic manager constantly brought Scottish Footbal into disrepute. Several fans sporting Rangers attire commented, “We Are The People”.

  7. If you think that, like me, the Celtic hierarchy have let us(Celtic fans)down over the past say, eight transfer windows and, therefore allowing hun supremacy….when, not if, the SPL/SFA announce that, newco-huns are allowed into the SPL with, not so much as a, slap on the wrist…..who will we vent our fury at, SFA/SPL or, a compliant Celtic hierarchy ?

    Absolutely scunnered – CSC

    Hail Hail

  8. Kevjungle – all and sundry on here acknowledge that Rangers have cheated for the last decade and signed players of a quality that they couldn’t afford.

Yet you choose to criticise the board for not competing with cheats. That doesn’t seem right to me.

Aye, very good Kev…..not even worthy of a response, really

  12. The Dolphin eh, quite concievably be the roughest looking pub around.

Anyways as i’ve said, I will never, turn my back on my beloved club Celtic, however if this whole saga with rangers unfolds in the way it looks, and the way we have cynically predicted months ago, then I will turn my back on Scottish football.,.

I simply couldn’t pay to watch my club try to compete in a league which has ignored the most basic necessities in fair competition.INTEGRITY.

It would be simply far too much to take, and in my opinion we’d all be kidding ourselves on..

    No thanks.

  13. By my reckoning……since ‘jelly ‘n’ ice cream’ became the, jungle-beat……we’ve lost to…Killie in a Cup Final when both teams had a cup to compete for!

We’ve lost to the huns at ibrokes when, we where going to celebrate….death of the huns!

We’ve won the League v’s a Killie team with nothing to play for ?

We’ve lost a SCSF to a Hearts team benefited by some, strange Celtic managerial team selections ?

We’ve beaten the huns in what can be described as a, run of the mill game.

Last sunday(Thai Tims apart) the season was over.

    Hail Hail

    looks can be deceiving…..

The fact that we know that we have been correct all this time makes them being allowed back in all the more sickening….I could never saw I wouldn’t go back and watch Celtic but it would be difficult to continue to pay into what is a proven lie of a competition..

  16. Kevjungle – what’s your point? That Lennon’s still a rookie that makes mistakes?

We all know that but personally I’m quite happy with his progress as a Celtic manager.

  17. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

KevJungle …… Approaching FUD status …… Not quite there yet, since some of your posts in the past have been sensible……

  18. Morning,

Shaping up to be another nice day in the Kingdom of Fife.

Well, well, John Yorkston of Dunfermline fame has stuck his head above the parapet and guess what, he is not in favour of rfcnewco being allowed in the SPL!

The fact the Dunfermline might be saved from relegation by supporting this move is no doubt in the back of this thinking BUT I have to say an unexpected turn up for the books.

    Vaultbhoy

  19. I have had a season ticket for years and years now, but without integrity, it has nothing, a fake product.

In my opinion, every single person who attends Scottish football games will just be kidding themselves on.A waste of time.

Neil has to make it clear to his peers that……

for the umpteenth transfer window inar, the fans desrve at least, a ch!

If, Neil dizny demonstrate that, he is more part of the solution than the problem then, we have a problem! imo.

    Hail Hail

  23. It seems Yorkston is turning his back on the bares now his club is relegated. Lone voice? I assume it is still a 11-1 vote.

    “I would guess I’ll be almost a

lone voice, but it doesn’t stop

    me from having my say.

    Everyone agrees that there

    should be severe punishment,

but there are a number of

chairmen who will look at the

financial thing and say, ‘do we

    want an SPL without Rangers?’

“It will be a question of sporting

    integrity against financial necessity.

    That is the choice facing

    chairmen.”

  24. Blantyretim, absolutely agree mate..

I think all those involved in the descision making in this very delicate situation, from Reagan, Doncaster etc etc are making a huge mistake..either they are choosing to ignore the mood of the common football fan, or they are so out of touch that they are simply misreading it..

It’s going to hit the fan big time.

  25. I keep being reminded of an incident a few years ago .I was working in Lanarkshire and was in this pub playing pool with this cheery local. He was a proud rangers supporter and I a Celtic fan.

It was a good natured evening with a bit of banter .

He snookered me and I said ” thats not very sporting”

” He retorted “I’m not a sportsman I’m a rangers fan! hahaha ha ha”

He found this so funny that he kept repeating his joke throughout the evening

    ” I’m not a sportsman I’m a rangers fan haha ……I’m not a sportsman…

  27. Maybe i’m wrong, is the Dolphin the little pub in the barras? has loads of flags haging outside it?
