The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy. On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association. This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.
For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set. Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.
It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat. I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.
To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy. The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.
It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it. You can book tickets here. I look forward to seeing you there.

Been a lot of doom and gloom in here the past few days.
Remember we.have travelled.a long way in a year.
A year ago the MSM were not even mentioning their problems.
We were dismissed as internet bampots or paranoid Tims.
Now the MSM and chairmen of SPL clubs are using the word integrity.
Whether they act with integrity is still to be seen.
I still believe.Admin FC have only just sighted the iceberg. They do not understand what lies below .waiting to hole them fatally.
It is an EBT iceberg.
Admin.FC are in dEBT.
This Miller bid is simply a Trojan Horse that is intended to “dupe” the Scottish football authorities into changing, or ignoring, their own rules on club registrations.
Once the principle is established that an SPL share, Club Licence and SFA membership can be transferred from one legal entity to another then the game really is a bogey.
We are then into “Franchise” territory.
And the implications for the game worldwide would be enormous.
Barcelona and Real Madrid would be first in the queue to dump their enormous debts. Italian clubs too.
Banks and companies would simply stop lending money to football clubs because it had been established that they could just simply do a “Newco” and leave each and every debt and regulatory sanction behind.
That is why it can’t happen. That is why it won’t happen.
The SPL’s rules are poorly worded, and the organisation itself is headed by a self-serving moron.
But the SPL regulations concede that they are obliged to adhere to all SFA rules. These include the rule that club licences and SFA membership cannot be transferred from one legal entity to another.
These include the stipulation that all details of all remuneration in regard to playing activities MUST be recorded on player contracts.
And the SFA has also given a commitment to UEFA that all SPL clubs will comply with UEFA Club Licensing criteria.
The damage that would be done to Scottish football as a whole if a decade of cheating and tax avoidance by one club was allowed to destroy our national game’s adherence to the most fundamental principles of football regulation would be utterly catastrophic.
If the SFA do not want to commit corporate suicide, they will stop this immoral charade in its tracks.
If they don’t, UEFA will do their job for them.
I hope Jim Spence does try and flush our Chief Exec out – time it was done and I’m afraid we wont like the answer…..

Thanks, tell them that the Norwich CSC are meeting up in the Temple bar,(opposit the Catholic cathedral, not the main Anglican cathedral) in the afternoon, I know of at least five supporters buses meeting up with us should be a great day out. Its a nice, trouble free city and the support is quite family orientated, hunnerz of pubs (though not too cheap!)

Looking forward to what might be my 2nd last game following Celtic. I will be paying particular interest to contrasting our Newco supporting opposition with how they performed the last time they were in Glasgow in an even more meaningless match.
I hope we have a similar selection as we saw against St. Johnstone and Ibrahim and Bangura play.
I will also ditch any interest in UEFA competitions after EURO 2012. Hardly principled but with it going to be an Ireland Germany final I will need to wean myself off of it slowly.
I need to consider what I do with my charitable donations upon the durty deed been done. My tax consultant is always perplexed that I never seek tax rebate on them by not contributing in Germany.

The BBC Sports Dep’t have been a joke throughout this saga allowing the ususal cheerleaders to blatantly lie to twist the agenda, even yesterday Young said we depended on their survival. I’ve listened to most programmes and I’ll give Spence and Gordon pass marks for asking the difficult questions and putting the point of the other clubs. Guys like Mark Daly must look on and wonder why these people get a salary similar to his. Fans with microphones.
Lkionsroar – under normal circumstances I would agree – Yorkson and Chick Young are not to be trusted. BUT they have said what they have said and Celtic continue to say absolutely nothing.
If Celtic were going to take a principled stance they would have been making their position absolutely clear – they havent.
As for the BBC I agree with you – but if Celtic aint going to say anything then I welcome anyone who may force the issue.
As I have said this is going to be a disaster for Celtic – an unmitigated disaster and a schism the size of the grand canyon as well.
