If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

  1. I’m not sure what some Celtic fans really wanted out of all this.

Like rangers fans who have not suggested what sanctions their club should receive there is not many Celtic fans who have stated what they realistically expected/wanted.

I hope rangers are playing in the SPL next season (with sanctions ofcourse)because if they are relegated to Div 3 then you will have awarded them three years of Championship wins rather than years of pain playing second or third fiddle to the team they just can’t stand.

No to Div 3 – it’s the easy option.

Unfortunately we are never going to be rid of them so we may as well watch them suffer for a few more years at least.

Unless we start making statement like above we will be standing at the back on the bus not even sitting.

We can talk and talk ,post and repost but unless the plc board go the full road the newco will be back and debt free ready to go again.

  9. I wonder whose money is keeping Killie afloat just now? Ours.

Kit is correct, they may let them back in, but what if we don’t turn up?

  10. Ok, here’s another wee conundrum or two.

If the Newco is given a Club License to play in the SPL next season it by definition meets the criteria for a UEFA License. How can it be banned from Europe for three years??

And if the Newco is really the oldco, why does it not qualify to play in Europe next year, given the oldco’s second place finish in the SPL?

  28. Gordon J – you post some great stuff on here and have done for many years.

The problem is when it comes to the Huns you have to throw logic out of the window.

If the Huns situation was dealt with based on rules and sporting integrity there would be no discussion.

I think the end result has been decided it is now simply a case of working out the narrative to get to that end point.

  30. miki67, it was a great night.

Algarvian, the luck of the draw.

Vmhan, Tom Boyd makes himself available for Celtic fans more often than any other former player. The Lions have all done their bit, as have many from the 70s and 80s, but there are fewer and fewer Tom Boyds out there.

ernie lynch, if the Celtic board can stop this, perhaps the issue is important enough to tell them how, face to face? Your clarity on the issue might be just what they need to hear. There can be no reason your ideas should not be put to the club directly and firmly.

This is an important issue, important issues need men of courage to step forward. I am absolutely sure of your courage. Some things you cannot leave to others – especially issues which threaten to split the club and support.

Not having a go at you, I have said from the start that I will wait on an official statement from Celtic, when the time is right for them to comment before criticising them.

  33. What can be done? Here’s a suggestion. Celtic fans should walk out of Tannadice en masse at halftime tomorrow.

It’s easy for me to suggest as I’m not going but it would be a start point point for action.

It would be impossible for the MSM ignore. It would capture national and I suspect international attention.

I suspect it would also gain support from other fans who do not want them to cheat their way back.

Not true. If Celtic vote against it does not mean the new club will not be voted in to the SPL.
