If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

Great to meet up albeit too briefly on Sunday. Hope things went as well as could be possible the following day. Please pass on my condolences to your lovely wife. Would love a wee session with you sooner than later. Or indeed a big session!

I was the DD on Sunday so took in the entirety of the victory in a sober minded way. You’re correct in that I’ve missed a lot of games in the second half of the season. By choice sometimes and for work related reasons at other times.

On Sunday I took a step back and thought; I love these guys/gals who I really only see on matchdays. They come from all areas of the U.K., Ireland and beyond. I’ve grown with them these past 14 or 15 years and maybe more. I’ve watched their children grow as they’ve watched my children grow.

And then the game and the afterwards. WOW. And those wonderful children and their teachers from Thailand. What’s not to like.

My mate and I were enthusiastically taliking about Champions League venues next season on the way home cos we’re well up for it.

    Will I renew my ST?

    You betcha.

  8. Lennons passion.

Good stuff. Let me know how that works out for you.

  11. did I hear right on RS earlier that Bill Miller ( aka Murray) never stumped up the £500k for preferred bidder status?

If so , why is he getting comfort and support from all branches of the brotherhood?

Can we believe anything these half wits of admins say?

Sorry that is 3 too many questions.

n 1803 we sailed out to sea

Out from the sweet town of Derry

For Australia bound if we didn’t all drown

And the marks of our fetters we carried

In our rusty iron chains we sighed for our weans

Our good women we left in sorrow

As the mainsails unfurled, our curses we hurled

On the English, and thoughts of tomorrow

    CHORUS

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

At the mouth of the Foyle, bid farewell to the soil

As down below decks we were lying

O’Doherty screamed, woken out of a dream

By a vision of bold Robert dying

The sun burned cruel as we dished out the gruel

Dan O’Connor was down with a fever

Sixty rebels today bound for Botany Bay

How many will meet their reciever

    CHORUS

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

I cursed them to hell as her bow fought the swell

Our ship danced like a moth in the firelight

White horse rode high as the devil passed by

Taking souls to Hades by twilight

Five weeks out to sea, we were now forty-three

Our comrades we buried each morning

In our own slime we were lost in a time

    Of endless night without dawning

    CHORUS

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

Van Diemen’s land is a hell for a man

To live out his whole life in slavery

Where the climate is raw and the gun makes the law

Neither wind nor rain care for bravery

Twenty years have gone by, I’ve ended my bond

My comrades ghosts walk behind me

    A rebel I came – I’m still the same

On the cold winters night you will find me

    CHORUS

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry

  15. Please bhoys, do not fall for Fluff & Fluffers load of old guff, we are helping them sow the seeds of doubt THEY want to sow!

There are definite limits as to how you Administrate, they have gone off on a tangent, why, hard to say, remember who wanted THEM appointed, and he got his way, despite an objection from HECTOR!, they are now engaged in a ’ smoke & mirrors’ mode to help deflect the fact that this is too BIG for them, and i can only surmise, THAT THEY ARE AFRAID TO LICQUIDISE THEM!

Celtic can do nothing at the moment, because Fluff & Fluffers, the SFA, the SPL, haven’t done anything thing yet, except test PUBLIC OPINION!

  16. Paul67 et al

You are right to highlight the positive atmosphere around Celtic Park right now, regaining the title, the Green Brigade, the visit of the Thai Tims, the emergence of some good young players, all to be celebrated next week at a packed Parkhead. We, as a club have lots to look forward to. Even so, Ernie Lynch is making a serious point, and he is making it in a timely manner. My reaction to the recent SPL proposed rule changes, and to Peter Lawyell’s statement following that, was and is similar to Ernie’s. I would rather play Shettleson Juniors than play a Rangers team, under any guise, which has cheated Scottish football, the British taxpayer, and whoever else had the misfortune to have had to deal with David Murray. I happen to believe that Celtic need to offer to support an alternative to a scenario which will be seen as little more than a cheats charter. We need to make it known that, with the impending demise of Rangers FC, the SPL needs to change, on pain of dissolution. We need to make it clear to the Alistair Johnstons of this world that while they may be willing to whore themselves to all and sundry, we actually believe in integrity in football, and in the wider society. That is the Celtic I support.

  17. We have been cheated for years.

We have known it is not a level playing field for years.

This last year has seen US vindicated.

We have not been paranoid for years.

all you Bhoys threatening to not renew your season ticket are misguided.

You supported Celtic all these years now they ate unravelling we need one more push.

We now have the chance to dominate for the next decade.

They were indeed the bravest of the brave. All Ireland should honour their sacrifice.

I remember those wee notes smuggled out of the Kesh. I recall on just about every occasion after visting my dad in the kesh on the prisoner welfare bus home the women would suddenly produce these little tiny little packets containing various messages and instuctions.

Hey let’s pay no taxes to help us have a good season for our fans

Then newco and wipe all our debts out and start again( banned from Europe for 3 years, but we end up with zero debt). 30 teams in teams in Europe could do that every year

My 2nd point is that every team in Spl who lost out in Europe to huns cheating should sue newco
