The stats tell an enticing story, Milan have played thirteen competitive games since beating Celtic and won only two, but you can forget about them right now. Celtic are good enough to take three points tomorrow but it will require a perfect match plan if they are to do so.
This fixture will hold no fears for Celtic, who have been over similar ground many times before, but they face players vastly more experienced at playing the intensity of football which will be on display tomorrow evening. If we are to get anything from the game, we will have to subvert a team who will enjoy the majority of possession and territorial advantage, with impeccable defending and expert finishing.
We got it spectacularly wrong against Italian opposition last season, who were considerably weaker than the Spanish opponents who left Celtic Park empty handed, overwhelmingly as a consequence of diverging from the game plan which left Barcelona scrambling for a consolation goal. This is football at a remarkably unforgiving level, as Juventus let us know; you’re not in the SPFL now, Dorothy.
Did you get to speak to the CQN Girls handing out Annuals at the Superstore on Saturday? We’ve got budget to bring them along for one last time ahead of the Milan game tomorrow. See the video below for a glimpse of what we were up to on Saturday and thanks to everyone who has bought an Annual!

No, DD, but I have been away from Glasgow since 1978. Before that it was St Benedicts in the Drum and St Stephens in Dalmuir as that was where my dear maw and all the Kellys came from.
Ps we ironically sold him whilst in a rich vein of goalscoring form
Oldtim.
Ok. Estadio national will be in blane valley at two..
The Honest Mistake
No offence taken of course, but is it possible, merely possible, that the arrogance lies elsewhere?
Chairbhoy
I don’t know where you get your info from, but it is consistently wrong. In the latest case, reference the SPL share. As with the SFA membership, it was not Rangers’/D&P’s to sell. It could only be transferred by the board of the SPL. The SPL Board elected not to transfer it to Sevco.

We need a development infrastructure at all levels, not just the final years. We have one. It works reasonably well, and is improving. The fallacy is that a successful youth team = successful adult players. The reality is that we target one (single) player to be developed to first team squad status from each age group each year.
The lesser clubs and lower leagues are jam packed with players who were promising Celts at 15, 16, 17, but whose development slowed before maturing. Some of them develop later in life, Barry Robson being a very good example, Charlie Mulgrew another, but when it comes to ‘world class’ I’m afraid we’re searching for a one in 250,000 player, when we have just 26,000 boys born each year in Scotland. A Dalglish every 10 years is the demographic run rate. (One we’re missing by the way, cf Wales)
Our anxiety that we might miss out on the next big talent colours the reality that few players, very few, actually do. Ryan Gauld might be one of the elite. I really hope he is. But there’s a long way to go before his precocious talent metamorphosises into a player of substance at the top level. He’s exciting, and he’s 17 years old. Leave him to get on with learning.
What would a parent do? Why, be a good parent, of course. 20 times more kids get into study Medicine at University in Scotland each year than get a professional career in a top division Scottish football team. Think about that. It’s 20 times easier to get 5 or 6 As at Higher at the first time of sitting than it is to get a first team contract at Dundee Utd.
The entry requirement at Celtic is considerably higher again.
I’ve been there as a Dad. It’s too easy to get caught up in your boy’s dream. (Perhaps it’s the Dad’s dream rather than the boy’s). By all means encourage and support the kid, but apply a little grounded reality. For 19 out of the 20 players in Celtic’s Under 17 squad, the future lies elsewhere. I trust their parents have the sense to ensure they work at school this year.
TBB
TBB – as the father of an 8 y/o who asks when Celtic will sign him(!) I think your last section about balancing dreams and reality is very wise indeed!

Realistically 2 pm will be about as early as I will make
Good evening,
Could anyone please tell me where the 19s game is being played tomorrow? Thank you.
OK It seems the Blane Valley is where all the action will be. With the help of God this wee Tim from Cork will also make an appearance, complete with a CQN Badge on his Celtic Baseball Cap, so if any of ye see a lost soul answering the above description say hello. Ye may not understand my Cork accent but I’ll promise to try and speak a bit slower than usual.

I am a Knightswood Corpus Christi bhoy, with a lot of family in Drumchapel and Dalmuir. I live in Dalmuir now, but worship in Our Holy Redeemer and CC out of habit.

I think we could push for a Reserve league, but I am not sure the opposition would really be up for it.
I would rather we went to England and played against development teams from Newcastle, Boro, Sunderland, Wigan, Bolton, Burnley, leeds , Man U etc
But it strikes me that previously the fixtures were organised by NL etc phoning his mate at a club down south, and organising a game “next Tuesday at 2pm”.
If we got a bit of structure , it could be a formal game every week.
That might involve hotels, travel, floodlights, but it would pay off in the long term.

No time for Miller
Decent player, but too big a gob.
I remember us dropping points at Tynecastle when NL made a mistake & after Miller he was on TV making patronising comments about NL and how it could happen to anyone & how NL was a great player.
At that stage he had done nothing in a Celtic Jersey, he had just arrived & should have kept his mouth shut.
Reports Bright Dike (Dee-KAY) already with Celtic are premature but he’s likely to come if @MLS & @torontofc approve http://t.co/LmbFzfv4yq

Hi Lhads
Long time no post.
Just heard that the Annan part time centre forward (he also runs a small farm in the area) missed a few games with Sevco last season.
Apparently due to a calf injury

If you have 2 Sky boxes you do indeed need to subscribe separately…..I have 2 and when I checked it out, I was advised that Sky are charging BT per box…….bit ‘off’ ……I’m thinking about telling Sky to cancel one of the boxes ….
lennybhoy-i did mate, should have added that to post.
TBB,
I have no wish to get into a parenting debate, but my view is it is about helping the youngster follow their dreams and develop their potential, and if that means they want to be a footballer rather than a medic, then so be it.
I realise we don’t have a stream of Dalglish’s coming through in Scotland, but my gripe is that there are some very good players who are Scottish / Scottish roots and we have continually missed them ( Fletcher *2, Mc Carthy ) or had to pay high transfer fees (Brown).
IMHO there is another model which would allow us to at least get our fair share of these guys in a more cost effective way than their current values.

Come on anybody!!

Not worrying about you not mentioning it, just wonder if you saw it mate.

Hail Hail!
In that case, come on West Brom!
Looks like Phil has called Campbell Ogilvie out in his latest blog with reference to the LNS Commission.
If LNS was misled and so findings flawed, it will be hard to use them as a justification for not revisiting the subject next year if the UTT find for HMRC.

There may be trouble ahead. …….
