The stats tell an enticing story, Milan have played thirteen competitive games since beating Celtic and won only two, but you can forget about them right now. Celtic are good enough to take three points tomorrow but it will require a perfect match plan if they are to do so.
This fixture will hold no fears for Celtic, who have been over similar ground many times before, but they face players vastly more experienced at playing the intensity of football which will be on display tomorrow evening. If we are to get anything from the game, we will have to subvert a team who will enjoy the majority of possession and territorial advantage, with impeccable defending and expert finishing.
We got it spectacularly wrong against Italian opposition last season, who were considerably weaker than the Spanish opponents who left Celtic Park empty handed, overwhelmingly as a consequence of diverging from the game plan which left Barcelona scrambling for a consolation goal. This is football at a remarkably unforgiving level, as Juventus let us know; you’re not in the SPFL now, Dorothy.

I have been ejected from some of the finest establishments in London, and many not so fine, but I was never ejected from the Cock Tavern, although their dog did bite me
Honest Mistake – thanks! I think! It’s almost like you know me already!

I’d recommend the 12 Pins Pub at Finsbury Park – less than a minute’s walk from tube.
Decent enough pub food there too.
I hope NL goes with the right formation and personnel tomorrow – I feel that’s what cost us in Amsterdam – if we had taken a point there we would have been in a much more positive position now.
To mark the 25th anniversary of Sir David Murray’s purchase of Rang#rs, Sevco FC have arranged a glamour tribute match away to Arbroath, in the prestigious third tier of the incomparable Scottish football league.
Tonight’s clash between two of the supernovas of the Scottish football galaxy is a fitting tribute to Sir David’s many years at the helm of the good ship Dignity.
Anyone got thoughts on signing Ryan Gauld? Looks to be the type of player who could be a long term successor for commons.
Also need a striker to stick them in the onion bag. Lord knows we missed out on some in the summer.
Hope everyone likes the CQN TV video from Saturday we made to promote the CQN Annual. You will find it at the end of Paul’s post.

Forget the dug. It was the father & son tag team that was worrying me;o)
How’s tricks?
Dobbo.
Ryan Gauld. Kid looks amazing with golden feet that float on the pitch but are firmly planted off it.
Reckon he’s a once in a generation gem and could see EPL team giving £5m for him at Christmas.
Would love to see him in the Hoops but this coming transfer window will be only opportunity to buy before his value goes skywards.
IMHO. HH jamesgang
Great, just back from seeing the extended family in Kent, so I need a holiday.
What about you? all moved in?
BDO sorting out where the money went in the Deidco fund, including the Jelavic fee, with nothing going to Sevco, it doesn’t do much to help the same club theory.
Spot on Paul
Milan will be well up for this and are capable of taking us apart if we are not organised.
All eleven players in our team will need to perform if we are to take anything.
Big FF always a massive player in these games, needs to make the right choice when coming for the ball, Only come out Fraser if your sure of getting it, and make sure your team mates know, so they can step aside.
As ever, It’s great to be there and have the chance to compete, be brave on the ball Celtic, find a man in space and move it quickly. If we do the simple things right, and work our socks off, then a result is possible.
I feel the tension building already…

Barred from establishments?
Get yer arse tae Swindon and we can go on a crawl of all the fine establishments which have decided they no longer require my services.
Pathological dislike of bullies, poor service, and a bad or short pint.
They have a similar dislike of sarcastic mouthy Scotsmen.
Heyho…..
Balotelli and Robinho can be world class on a good day. On a bad day, when they’re not in the mood, they are passengers. Let’s hope it’s the latter.
Kaka may not be the 2007 vintage, but still capable of top quality play.

Not yet. Moved out, went to italy & moved back in. Funny living in your house when it’s filled with other people’s stuff. The kitchen’s the wrong way round, etc. I keep having to check whether I’ve stumbled into the wrong flat…
Stripping/ painting/ repairing like crazy at mo because carpet fitters arrive wednesday morning. We move in Thurs or fri. Still no kitchen. But I’ve a microwave & a chip shop. It just screams balanced diet.
You serious about the 10 year birthday bash?
jamesgang
do you think we will be willing to risk £5m on a 17/18 year old? His wages ought not to be a problem.
swordfish-don’t think the Kerrydale Suite is open on CL matchdays mate, worth checking first.

Couldn’t agree more Paul, all this rubbish about Milan being weak and poor is exactly that, rubbish. Primarily its intended to lull us into a false sense of security thinking we just need to turn up and win. And just in case we do win, well we told you they were rubbish beforehand anyway so what you all celebrating about. We’ve all been here before, many times.

Gauld has signed a contract extension at DU
Doubt he’ll be sold on the cheap
Is he any better than some of the young bhoys who have been doing so well ?
Players with other SPL teams get much more time and space than CFC players get
Time to give Atajic a few games …those we are playing at striker are not scoring …he can’t do any worse
Definitely, great excuse for a night out.
PF
No doubt Gauld is a good un. Pleased he’s tied into Dundee Utd for the foreseeable. Do him no harm at all learning his trade in that team.
Celts on espn 2 in australia and youth game on eurosport live
Absolutely delighted that i’ll see the game.
To those who are going to parkhead enjoy and do your usual best .
Hopefully barca knock in 10 tomorrow night.
Pfayr. Agree with you inasmuch as I’d like to see our young lads getting a run.
That said this kid is super special.
Dobbo – no chance of us matching a £5m bid I’m afraid. Would love to see us try with £2m ish but breath not being held at all. Salary should be ok if paid as beer money – he’s only 17 and it’ll be about 2020 before he looks old enough to get served!
Laters gents. Meeting time. Boo hoo!
HH jamesgang
You booked yet? If so how? Not been at the ‘puter much over the last few weeks. I’ve missed loads.

Couldn’t agree more.
There’s NO evidence to suggest he’s any better than the Celtic youngsters.
He’s a very very promising young player playing in a poor quality competition. I don’t recall him tormenting us much.
If Leny and our scouts believe him worth a £1-2 million gamble, I’ll watch with interest. But to go along with the frothing SMSM and tag him at £5 million is irrational; we don’t have £5 million quid to gamble on a kid who has only proven he can perform against the likes of Partick and St.Johnstone.
Hindsight’s a wonderful thing as all the followers of that superstar Finbogasson keep telling us. Althougn my own personal hindsight remorse is over Charlie Austin, a pinch at £2.5 mill.
BMCW – If I’m ever that far West I’ll look you up, but hopefully I’ll see you in London again before too long.
All this clamouring to buy the best of the SPL.
It’s nothing new.
Derek Riordan .
Scott Brown at £4 m.
Buying The boy Gauld at north of £2million is ludicrous .
Between £500 k to £1m max.
There is a whole world out there.
We cannot be held to ransom by Scottish clubs.

The difference is that Gauld is getting SPL games and our lads are not. Huge advantage. I’d take him. Best Scottish prospect for a LONG time.

If we sign Gauld does he walk into the team?
Who does he replace?
I don’t think Neilly like playing youngsters.
He is desperate for 3 and 4 in a row, in the absence of the mingers.
So no youngsters in the team until we win the league. At least.
