Ignore vulnerable Milan nonsense

742

The stats tell an enticing story, Milan have played thirteen competitive games since beating Celtic and won only two, but you can forget about them right now.  Celtic are good enough to take three points tomorrow but it will require a perfect match plan if they are to do so.

This fixture will hold no fears for Celtic, who have been over similar ground many times before, but they face players vastly more experienced at playing the intensity of football which will be on display tomorrow evening.  If we are to get anything from the game, we will have to subvert a team who will enjoy the majority of possession and territorial advantage, with impeccable defending and expert finishing.

We got it spectacularly wrong against Italian opposition last season, who were considerably weaker than the Spanish opponents who left Celtic Park empty handed, overwhelmingly as a consequence of diverging from the game plan which left Barcelona scrambling for a consolation goal. This is football at a remarkably unforgiving level, as Juventus let us know; you’re not in the SPFL now, Dorothy.

Did you get to speak to the CQN Girls handing out Annuals at the Superstore on Saturday?  We’ve got budget to bring them along for one last time ahead of the Milan game tomorrow.  See the video below for a glimpse of what we were up to on Saturday and thanks to everyone who has bought an Annual!

  2. I haven’t seen Ryan Gauld play yet, but we’ve got some really goood young players of our own coming through – Paul George, Callum McGregor and Paul McMullan play the same kind of position as Gauld, and we’ve also got Jackson Irvine, John Herron and Philip Twardzik (if he ever recovers from injury). Hederson, Lindsay and Kidd are three more promising midfielders coming through. Is Gauld really better than what we’ve got? If we had him already would he be palying in the first team?

  6. My last post ( I think) on Ryan Gauld.

If he was already with Celtic, I don`t think he would have been given the chance he has been given at Utd.

  14. How long does it take to receive the new super duper cqn manual from order ! A need the fix a need it lol !

  15. Judging by the performance of the Dons on Saturday and with ICT hanging in there only five points adrift, this is turning out to be quite a competitive SPL. Listened to the Aberdeen game on good old radio and was great entertainment. Liked Derk’s goal, quick reflexes in the box to stick the ball in the back of the net – a typical strikers goal.

Celtic play their eleventh game in Europe on Tuesday night and it’s certainly been a long road for the team in the Premier competition. Celtic players revel in these big European games and there is no danger of complacency. We have the Great Wall and a back four that have not been overawed by any of the opposition in Europe this season and it’s a big plus with Samaras and Commons fit again and Kayal seems to have found his mojo again.

Milan are Milan but Celtic fear nobody at Celtic Park and have the record to prove it.

Celtic’s talent development people have been watching Ryan Gauld, like every other talented kid in the country, for years. Absolute years.

Do you think Utd have been growing him in a secret polly tunnel at Invergowrie over the past 6 years?

Celtic know everything about the boy. His contribution in many of the games he’s played since age 13, his physical development, his speed, his attributes, his weaknesses, his family background and maybe even his Highers results. That’s the nature of the job. Heck he’s played against Celtic umpteen times in the past 5 years.

Celtic’s conclusion is that the boy is at the right team at the moment. Leave him where is and let him grow.

MSM are always bumming up d u players, who in recent times has went on be anything special, just like all those hibs players around the time our capt calamity was there and none of them set the heather on fire including brown, after the game on saturday heard a couple of older fans bemoaning the fact we didnt go after russell well he,s not exactly running riot in the english lower leagues ,these players usually shine in games between the lower sides and if youve ever watched say ict v aberdeen the standard is awful, thats why gordon strachan stopped going to watch lower teams as they were a totally different prospect when playing us
