IHEANACHO HOPING TO FEEL THE LOVE IN PARADISE

KELECHI IHEANACHO is hoping to feel the love if he gets the nod from Brendan Rodgers to make his Parkhead debut against Hibs tomorrow.

The Nigerian international striker has already turned out in three games following his UEFA deadline arrival as a free agent after leaving Sevilla.

Iheanacho displayed immense courage in volunteering to take the stoppage-time penalty-kick against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park two weekends ago in his first appearance.

The frontman made an excellent job from the spot as he lashed in the winner high past the sprawling Max Stryjek.

He was on target again in the 1-1 midweek Europa League stalemate with Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian capital.

THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD…Kelechi Iheanacho fires in his first goal for Celtic via the penalty spot in the champions’ late 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Now the 28-year-old forward wants to replicate that shooting form as he stands by to make his debut in Paradise.

Iheanacho said: “I’m loving it here and coming here was a very good decision, it’s going really well and hopefully there is more to come.

“The staff have welcomed me, so I’m happy being here with a good group of guys and I’m settling in well. I’m happy with how it’s been and it’s also paying off on the pitch.

“Celtic Park is a great stadium, and to get the chance to play tomorrow with the fans there will be a great honour, and, hopefully, I will score.”

Iheanacho, speaking to Celtic TV, added: “I’m having my connection with the players, trying to understand each and every one of them – the full-backs, the defenders and the midfielders. It’s going quite well.

“They’re helping me to settle in and they have great qualities, as well, so on the training pitch we will work on it and in the games.

“I’m a striker, I want to score goals, I want to help the team to achieve great things this season.”
