‘I’LL BE BACK,’ VOWS ‘TERMINATOR’ JOZO

JOZO SIMUNOVIC has undergone knee surgery on the injury that will keep him out for at least three weeks, as CQN reported yesterday.

The crocked Croatian centre-half took to social media last night to share an Arnold Schwarzenegger-themed message made famous in one of his Terminator films that insisted: “I’ll be back.”

The 25-year-old Celt was photographed with his right leg heavily bandaged following the operation in a London hospital and the message was loud and clear from the smiling defender.

Simunovic has been out of action since his appearance in the 2-0 win over AIK Stockholm in the first leg of the Europa League play-off at Parkhead on August 22.

Neil Lennon has had to put a makeshift central defence together in his absence and midfielder Nir Bitton took the role as Christopher Jullien’s partner in the 2-0 victory at Ibrox at the start of the month.

The Israeli international limped off after 66 minutes and is now out for at least another fortnight.

Kristoffer Ajer, who came off early in the 4-1 second leg triumph on Stockholm, made his return in the 1-0 win over Hamilton Accies at the weekend.

Now Simunovic has pledged to get back as swiftly as possible to strengthen the Hoops’ defensive options with a hectic period at home and abroad coming up.
