‘I’LL COPY STUART,’ MORGAN

NEW Bhoy Lewis Morgan is hoping to follow Stuart Armstrong’s example when he reports for Celtic duty in the summer.

The Scotland Under-21 winger, who was loaned back to St Mirren after this month’s £300,000 switch to the champions, reckons the former Dundee United playmaker is the ideal man to copy.

Morgan is aware of the lack of game-time at the Hoops for players such as Ryan Christie and Scott Allan, on loan at Aberdeen and Dundee respectively, but is determined to hit the ground running in the new campaign.

Armstrong made the breakthrough last season under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers after being played out of position by Ronny Deila who paid £2million to the Tannadice club in a double deal for the midfield man and Gary Mackay-Steven in January 2015.

The Paisley starlet said: “I’m under no illusions about what I face at Celtic, but I have confidence in myself I can go there and do it.

“Look at Stuart Armstrong and what he has achieved since joining the club.

“He’s a great role model and if I do well there is no reason I can’t kick on.

“I’m still trying to get my head around everything that has come with the move.

“I believe I am coping with it well and now I am just looking forward to the challenge.”

Morgan is likely to line up for promotion-chasing Saints in tonight’s crucial Championship encounter against Dunfermline at East End Park.
