It’s great news that Celtic have signed a new kit deal with Adidas. The club have not confirmed any details, but I believe it is a big uptick on the current deal and extends well into the next decade.
Champions League and transfer income get the most attention when it comes to Celtic finances, but the club have two main pillars which allow it to budget properly: season ticket sales and commercial deals. Ticket income has moved slightly below inflation since the tarpaulins came off in 2016, whereas commercial income has been transformed.
Dafabet, Adidas, JD Sport, a clutch of second tier sponsors, and one-off deals like the hilarious Sydney Tournament happen because we have quality operators in place. Without these deals, we have fewer special players, fewer CL points and less silverware. Today’s announcement will fade from memory soon, but you will see the results in the league table for years to come. Well done to everyone involved.

i am slightly puzzled that we have not announced what we are doing for a pre season. if we aint globe trotting we should at least be going to ireland for a few more games
Aberdeen have played a blinder in the Scottish cup ticket allocation.

12800 west stand
4500 north stand
2500 south stand lower west and
300 staff behind the dug out .
i think they can and will sell most of them.
what they have done is secured a choice of ticketing options without having to spend on premium debenture or hospitality.
this morning all hospitality and debentures on Celtic side of the main stand and the north terrace lounges are sold out
the aberdeen areas all still available.
because of segregation celtic supporters might still get some upper tier south stand approx 1800.
what they wont get is the unsold lower tier. and aberdeen are not underwriting those areas
hampden should have been firmer.

Not sure what his involvement would be this time around, but the area of Commercial sponsorship is where Peter Lawwell excelled over the past twenty years or so, and it is to the club’s credit that Adidas is continuing its’ investment in Celtic FC for the seasons ahead. The new CL format obviously helps, as does the fact that there is a midweek CL MOTD on BBC1 , in which we feature a couple of times in the introduction to the programme itself. All good. Good also to read, thanks Stivs, that the Scottish Cup final is a traditional Saturday 3pm kick off, and not only being shown on BBC Scotland but on BBCi Player. Credit for once to both the SFA and the BBC.

it is all good news.
though im still not convinced the new CL was about anything other than a cash grab by uefa and the clubs.
i like the idea of not having fixed groups, but this could still have been done with us still only playing 6 group games instead of 8.
however because of the extended format it made us play more games (and so pay an extra 100 quid each for 2 extra home games into february, giving the illusion that we had went further into the tournament, when in fact we went out before the last 16 with no europa league fallback – a situation we would have considered failure prior to the new format.
