There has been a lot of noise around football in Scotland since we put Newco on the canvas to win the league on Sunday. Notions are being peddled that directors left Newco because they had to make room for new people, who will bring bags of money any day now. It’s just nonsense.
This photo of an imperious Ali (then Clay) and Liston on the canvas is the perfect metaphor for football in Glasgow right now. Ali went on to set records, entertain, and become one of the world’s sporting greats. Whereas this is the best known photo Liston; flattened two minutes into a match against his then rival.
The world had already changed for both boxers before this fight, although Liston only realised it that day, and there was nothing he could do about it.
Now Clay swings with a right, what a beautiful swing!
And the punch raises the Bear clear out of the ring.
Liston is still rising, and the ref wears a frown,
For he can’t start counting till Sonny comes down.
—Muhammad Ali

KEVJUNGLE ya auld fenian git, what can i say, frankie and benny say woof woof.ktf.
The Irish Film Institute has made available on its website film footage of Ireland from 1900 – 1930, much of it never seen before. Covers 1916 and War of Independence and Civil War.

Eureka
I’ve finally cracked the secret to being considered vital to this blog.
Come on twist the lead article’s meaning and or content to suit your own agenda. Insult the guy who started the whole thing with his own money and provides this platform free of charge. Then show how intellectually arrogant you are by denigrating everyone who doesn’t agree with your opinions. The other sure fire way is to come on and insult every aspect of the club from Directors to Supporters and hark back to a golden age of the club which never existed except in your own head.
Some people’s hatred of the “board” trumps their “love” of all things Celtic.
Sincerely
A confirmed back of the bus, board apologizing sheep, old firmist.
Great result for Celtic FC Women tonight beat Hibs 1.0

My nephew/Godson who plays left back for Dumbarton knows KT well. He told me, “I wish KT was as two footed as me, however, I wish I was left back for Celtic.” ?☘?

Was with my ex wife recently at her grans funeral. Her advice to me was to show more interest in females and less interest in Celtic. Glad she divorced me now. Bad attitude she has developed. ?
Lucky escape.
My wife got so upset with my love of Celtic she once threatened:
“Right, I’m fed up with this. You better choose – it’s either me or Celtic”.
So I packed her bags for her.
Sorry dd- didn’t mean to offend – it was a poor attempt at humour.
MIKE IN TORONTO, hope your not stirring up trouble here, we know what your like.hail hail to seamus larsson.

Bob is my daily listen to guy. He speaks scripture to me. Three Little Birds wakes me up every morning.
Jimmynotpaul, thanks for that update on our Women’s team winning the league cup , more good news for our support.
On this the day in 1986, we won the league in the most dramatic of circumstances , an incedible occasion.
However, in my mind as equally an important win for us at Love Street that same season was about 4 -6 weeks earlier when a late Paul McStay goal gave us a much needed 2 1 win .
Our league winning game is rightly celebrated but its unfortunate the above game at Love Street is rarely mentioned along with other victories in our last 8 games of the 85/86 season.
SFTB,
The heat referred to passion while learning was light, neither of which I’ve seen on here for quite a while, regularly there were long drawn out discussions lasting days sometimes weeks dealing with real issues, the last one I remember was three or four weeks ago when Ernie supported war crimes on Syria, that was relevant IMO, the old firm games quickly demoted such trivial utterances.
But your input Isaac example of exactly the kind of inane drivel I was talking about, thank you for demonstrating that to perfection.
Commenting on your interpretation by taking exception with a cherry picked point while completely ignoring the main point, re mahe’s observation, there have been more articles discussing a pub team than Celic this season, obsession with irrelevant pish to distract from what is going on around us.
And what might that be?
Yeaman, your taxes are supplimenting Saudi arms deals, and supporting war crimes, comment, me, I’d rather my taxes went to bail out sevco
Israel, your taxes are supplimenting Israeli arms deals and supporting crimes against humanity, comment, me, I’d rather my taxes went to bail out sevco and they’re shite.
Merrica, developing bigger stronger nukes and your taxes are supplimenting that development, comment, me, I’d rather my taxes went to bail out sevco and they’re shite.
So while our host is OCD about Rangers, in the past the articles published usually had little relevance to what was discussed except when the real Celtic men were demanding brainless adherence to distraction as the only point to the blog.
Naw i’m no accepting your intention was to produce light but thanks for moving my soap box into position :)

I was offended at your attempt at humour in commenting at my attempt at humour. Nae harm done. Humour is always better face to face spoken, than typed on a blog. No hard feelings my friend.

The other day Neganon2 came on and accused Paul67 of perpetuating the survival myth, despite Paul67 clearly referring to both clubs that played out of Ibrox. He’s a poster boy for the board hating guys on here, I believe he/she is a media plant.
Tonight canamalar comes on and completely twists Paul67’s article. He then goes on to claim the intellectual standards of the blog have fallen so low that he hardly bothers to come on anymore. This is from a guy who used to reply to posters he disagreed with that the “had shite dribbling out of their mouth”. Very high brow.
No offense to you or Canamalar but I don’t agree that insulting the guy who created this blog makes you a valuable part of the blog, as I said it’s my opinion only and no offense meant to you or anyone else.
get to help!
Owen
Be Careful
Grumpy is gonna get you
OWEN, hey pal were all tims on here i hope, you have a right to your opinion, same as everyone else on here.hh.
Murdochauld……,
Res12 Only happened because this blog made me think, it no longer challenges me or anyone else as far as I can see, I used to get my arse handed to me on a plate on here arguing with IMO serious intellects, that needed me to up my game to continue to argue, again that no longer happens on here because there are no longer serious arguments that people are passionate about.
If you’ve read my stuff you’ll know my thoughts on charity and they are not supportive while I have supported charity I do not believe there should be any place for it it in civilised society people’s rights should qualify the, for all the support they need not depend on good will. Which brings us back to doe ray me :)
WITS
I know but after 16 years in Cork I find myself drawn more and more to extreme sports as a means of alleviating the boredom. ?
WHAT IS THE STARS, how is angel and dont call me grumpy.lol.
Dallas
My everlasting memory of our win in Love Street 1986 was the walk from Paisley through Renfrew towards the ferry wi bhoys from Whitecrook,Drumchapel,Knightswood and Yoker. We all sang Sailing by Rod Stewart on the Clyde. Renfrew was glad to see the back of our rebel songs that day. The Renfrew huns hid that day.
I shook the hand of Danny and Mojo at Full Time that day on the pitch. My feelings for those two, once upon a time heroes, is polar opposite now. All time hero compared to all time biggest let down. Sad
A mate just text me said he has heard that Gerard has knocked them back. Don’t know if there is any truth in it. Hope so
D. :)
Owen,
You have won the golden toilet paper award, wipe yer mouth :)

Just when you thought footballers couldn’t be any stupider,Craig Bellamy saying Gerrard should put on his boots again play for Sevco and he would still be the best player in Scotland.Think he must be hanging out with Joey Barton.
SP I hope it is. They will be even more revolting if that’s the news tomorrow.
D. :)
ALMORE 9.45…
Reckon a lot of wifes and ex-wifes used that line.
It was true in my case.;))))

My son just texted me. “Gerrard has knocked them back. He is taking the North Korea manager job.”
