Important takeaways from Uefa comment on Postecoglou

364

Today’s news cycle is dominated by comments from a Uefa spokesperson who confirmed Celtic have applied for an exemption for Ange Postecoglou from holding a Uefa Pro Licence.  There are important takeaways from this.

Ange’s signature must be on this application.  This could only happen if he had permission from Yokohama, his current employer, and contract terms had been agreed.

Exemption will be granted, this facility is there to provide for candidates like Ange.  The Pro Licence requirement is there to ensure standards in the European game, not to act as a closed shop.  Celtic are pursuing a similar Work Permit application to allow him to take up employment in this country.  This will occupy another day’s news cycle, but Ange will meet this requirement too.

Yes, Ange will not be able to take charge of a Celtic game for weeks, but our June schedule has been kind in this respect.  There is nothing to stop him planning a squad or backroom team for next season, I expect he is at least a week into this process.  If he’s good enough, the hassle getting him here is worth it.

Pretty gutted at the booing when England players took the knee at the Riverside Stadium last night.  Must be horrible for the players.  Hard to believe we are in 2021.

They were both flown to Iraq to do some work on SH mooth. (This was a long time ago)

As a parting gift SH gave each of them a Rolex watch.

At that time the watches were catalogued at many thousands of pounds.

    Braindead

    Evil Dead 2

Hardcore Henry (this isn’t really horror but is an amazing action/scifi film, the Russian director’s more recent Nobody is pretty good too)

Bad Taste (Peter Jackson’s first film, not as good as Braindead but does include the immortal line ‘I’m a Derek and Derek’s don’t run’)

Save The Green Planet (utterly bonkers and brilliant South Korean horror/sci fi mash up which is being remade in the states I think)

  5. Films:

I sometimes like to watch a few with the same actor

based on the mention of Billboards/Missouri above (great film); Fargo and the new Nomadland(new) would be a great trio of Frances McDormand films to watch

I love Carey Mulligan so Never Let Me Go , An Education and Promising Young Woman(new) would be a great binge

    Or directors

my daughter likes Christopher Nolan so we watched Interstellar recently (excellent but turn the sound up when McConnachie is talking). i would add Dunkirk and The Prestige to that
