The Barton issue: it seems bizarre to suspend a player for four weeks after an incident, more so to extend that by a further week immediately before a clear-the-air meeting, but it’s not.
This has got nothing to do with the player. Whatever he did with a team-mate in the aftermath of our 5-1 win a month ago has nothing to do with his continuing suspension. Nor is the player’s subsequent charge for gambling on football.
I’m pretty sure it’s not even about money, or the player’s lack of ability. This is about the manager and his board. Who authorised his signing in the summer and on what basis was he employed? Warburton has played his hand by passing the issue up to his board. The board can try to impose the player on the manager, again, or they can find the money to make the problem go away.
Or maybe the manager will go instead.

Hello again all you young rebels.
LYMMBHOY
Thank you for posting the Jinky vid i’ve been desperate to
watch it with the wee mhan, lets him see what a player he
was and it will give him an idea what life was like back in
the old days lol.
And i will phone PADDYMACOZ now as he was talking about
putting it on at one of our club shindigs .

Re; Willie Henderson and Jinky..
Willie sadly Lost his Daughter a couple of Years ago something he said he will never get over.. Think talking about his lifetime friendship with the Johnstone family would have brought some family memories back as Kids are similar age..

DD-Gerry- said same today to a couple of bhoys, bring on 3pm Saturday
.
Melbourne Mick..
I’ve been talking to the Girl Who did the Jimmy Doc to try and show it in Melbourne as part of a Fundraiser for MND and something else..
Unfortunately she was very helpful but don’t have the rights to show in Australia shame as it would have been a good get together for clubs for a good cause..

Shame about The Press Bar, had many a good session there

My son got to a dozen or so games last season on our family or friends seasons books. Saturday will be his first game this season. The ‘BR’ factor and the exciting fitba to blame. ;)

Give the wee mhan a big hug fae ML5….. Hope he just smiled when his EPL fans (after his wee trip) were going on about the 2-2 draw, hope when we beat Eitihaad FC the wee mhan can just smile more
Love your stories about the wee mhan
Delaney’s, I have watched the Jinky documentary twice now.
It was even better second time round. Joyful and tearful at the same time.
Davie MacKinnon ran or worked in a Newsagent in Renfrew next to Izzi’s cafe as you came off the ferry.
He was a very polite and courteous guy.
A few months after he went to what was Rangers. i had a temporary job in the Reprographics room at John Brown’s.
It was , unsurprisingly, full of huns. One of them told me Davie MacKinnon was as good a full back as Danny was . A comment not worthy of a reply.
Good night all and sleep well .
SUMMA OF SAMMI
What a wonderful suggestion, just giving PADDYMAC time to
rise this morning and toss about some ideas, he’ll be rough having
drank everybody else’s money yesterday :-))

When I had my ST if you didn’t go it got put behind the bar, no money, the odd pint, but these days the BR factor is amazing, I tried to stand up,for Ronny, which I am slagged daily, but am wee enough and ugly enough to realise BR is on a different wavelength …..and I love it
I just hope BR doesn’t chase the lucre……. In my opinion MON should have stayed, make yourself a hero ….. I love BR

Saw you mention that before around the time of the Centenary (2016) celebrations. Would have been a long way to travel as Milford is in Donegal as you know. A lot of the Parish records have been collated centrally and are now available online. It was a massive project which was only completed at the start of this year.
The connection with the St Mary’s Club was through a family called Bradley. From what I can remember we used to do a lot of drinking in the Labour Club as well.
As said Dallas will be my pleasure.

Bada Bing, my abiding memory of the Press Bar was after we beat the current buns 1 nil in February 2001.
It was full of happy Celtic fans after the game.
About 4 o’clock , this guy stuck his head round the door and then soon afterwards he came in with his wife and the late Sandy Jatdine in club blazer and tie along with customary brown brogues. Jardine got no grief apart from one guy saying how rotten his team , we had beaten them twice in four days, were. He just nodded.
Definitely bedtime now.

Davie was possibly better than Roger Whittaker. He told me that Danny was the only world class player playing in Scotland. This was after King Kenny signed for Liverpool. Davie McKinnon would have laughed in the face of your deluded workmate. :)
Bada Bing @ 9.45pm
I noticed that as well.
Think they mean European qualifiers to the World Cup.

GERRYFAETHEBRIG
Less and less epl fans with us now our bhoys have converted
most, it was registration day at the footie park yesterday and
a newly emigrated young couple brought their kids down to
join, she noticed my Lisbon 67 top and some of the bhoys with
their Celtic gear on and said ” love your top looks as though our
kids are joining the right club ”

I never saw John Higgins play but I was always told what a cultured player he was.
However I remember how resentful my older brother was towards Bobby Shearer.
He saw the tackle which ended John`s career and he descrbed it as an assault.
Sammy Baird .Bobby Shearer .
Davis the Korean war vet, the Rangers player who chased the specky Frenchman across the field at Ibrox .
All ogres of my earliest days as a Celtic supporter.
Big George’s
Sorry, very busy day and just catching up.
Sadly, it would seem that there will be no consultation. It’s a case of emailing JP and hoping it doesn’t happen. An absolute shambles. Open meeting coming up, I’ll let you know R.

A number of future 60s and 70s stars spotted by him.
He is in one of the big pictures on the stadium.

He would have been a better signing than Brian.
I might be wrong here. But here goes.
Was Tommy burns not a John Higgins spot.
Delaneys,
