After four painful defeats, Celtic steadied the ship with a late win over Aberdeen and a bizarre one over Livingston. We are entitled to recognise that as progress, however, despite the direction of travel, we should be prepared for anything to happen at Fir Park tonight.
Wilfried Nancy will have learned lots from those wins, just as he did from the earlier defeats. He has significantly improved the left side of the team since his initial games in charge, but the right side remains less effective.
Without Cameron Carter-Vickers, Anthony Ralston has filled in at the right side of central defence in preference to Colby Donovan. Jahmai Simpson-Pusey fits the bill on paper, but the Manchester City loanee has now sat on the sidelines for three successive managers at Celtic. You and I might know more about a few in the Celtic squad than Wilfried does, but that does not extend to JSP. If there are to be changes on the right, it is likely to be Colby for Anthony.
After a win and a clean sheet, a goal for Johnny Kenny would be very welcome. The player clearly lacks confidence, a state which will only be resolved by putting the ball into the net. He is miles off the levels shown in the League Cup semi-final win, when he bossed the opening stages and scored with an excellent header. A deflection off his knee tonight could be the fix.

Ladth, I particularly like the framing of it as ‘supporting the manager “. It’s creepy crawly board time. 🪱🐛
Tunisia leading Tanzania at haf time through a penalty.
The referee didn’t call it, nor VAR, but the Tunisian No9, Mastouri stayed down in the Tanzanian box while play went on.
A Tunisian kicked out the ball for an “injury break”, while Mastouri was treated VAR looked at the arm round the neck “tackle” by the Tanzanian central defender Hamad – the referee was subsequently called to the monitor, after a ling hard look, awarded the penalty.
Interesting – word from Africa, stay dowm…
Tunisia 1 – 0 Tanzania
As to P67s lead today. How low have we sunk? Wishing for a fluke goal to get our “striker” going.
Maybe we should have bought one?

It’s well observed that we need to make do and mend until recruitment fills the gaping holes in the team.
Otherwise known as having to sh!t with the ar#e you’ve got.
I’ll take any kind of win in each of the two matches this week, flukes, worldies, howlers whatever.
Let’s see where we are at the end of January.
Is she really going out with him ?
Let’s hope Benny hits the nets
Season books part 1. Historical Context.
Listening to the bloggers, reading their stuff, watching the various interviews with Collective representative, and recently Dempsey, Low and Smillie, and beyond the “not a penny more” mantra is the next big ticket (sic) financial item …….. season ticket renewals for 26/27, which will normally become available in April with a closing date the last day of May.
That people are willing to pay ahead, regardless of where we might finish in the league, or if we have a cup-final to play, or who might be in the dug-out, or indeed will we have new players at all, well it is remarkable.
To demonstrate this I have a pal, his book and 3 bhoys at the time (2014ish), his council job was under real threat, and in a chat at the game he said, it is fine though, what-ever happens, I already have my seats for next season.
That blind loyalty (there is no other better word), paying for something , while not knowing exactly what you are getting, well it is quite bonkers isnt it ?
That Fergus would sell us a vision, the biggest football stadium in Britain for a short time, and that he would fill it with seats bought in advance, I personally thought, no chance, no one is coming to Celtic park to see Dunfermile or Kilmarnock, but my goodness so they did.
Us of a certain vintage, those of us in our 20s, 30s and 40s when McCann came forward, firstly to be allowed to buy shares was just something you could never have ever imagined, for the cost of a Co-op bank loan (I think) at £620 and I could say, I am not just a supporter, I am actually an owner, well again unbeleivable, and then to show even more how faithful I am, I will actually also be allowed to buy a season book for the Hampden season, with a guarantee that when we return to Celtic Park, well first dibs on the new North Stand, I bought myslef , and my youngest brother and 2 young cousins seats in 144, again financed by was it Zebra financing ? I was double debted to show my commitment, and thanks for still having a Celtic to support. In those days, I earned well, but truth be told, probably half my money was spent supporting Celtic home and away, The rest on holidays, I prided myself on not missing games, I missed family occasions to watch Celtic, works events, I would not go abroad for work, and boxing days and new years day at Tannadice, Pittodrie, Ibrox, well its better than sitting in someones hoose.
I went to Tenerife in 1995, as we had 2 weeks between last league game and the cuo final, meant to return on friday nigth, the flight was delayed to next morning , I got to Hampden at 10 to 3, found my brother and got in, I was raging with myself ofr nearly missing it, and a first trophy in SIX YEARS.
But I am just the same as thousands of others. I cant find the number now, but in my head I think we had 28,000 season tickets in a 34,000 capacity stadium when we returned.
Another jaw dropping moment, for the first Newcastle opening game, a match on the book by the way, I was confronted by 5 boys the years above me in school, they had never ever ever been to a Celtic match. I had never heard them say anything about Celtic, and only 1 actually played any organised football, but there they were, the new Cletic support.
The world was changed forever.
An T
Many thanks. Excellent.

enjoyed part 1 👍
There is a prelude to Fergus’s Season Ticket Culture – the one they didn’t advertise much. I think around 2,000 hardy souls we sat in the Front stand, and Main stand. You had to write to the club and ask to buy one. Jack McGinn didn’t like ST’s,- but as you’ve stated the world changed with The Bunnet

Seen them after Cream. A great regret that I never seen a truly great band.
TBB , you’ve answered my question, we have sunk incredibly low. Sad thing is P67 never comments on the reasons why.

from the celtic wiki –
full disclosure as well, I enjoyed having access to the fabled “pools agent ground season ticket”.
i cant remeber how many clients you had to have but my brother in law worked in ireland, and qualified through his hundreds of work pals in the intel factory. he wasnt home often so i got to use it, great source as well for ibrox and cup final tickets.

1920’s-1940’s
The previous generations before me had season tickets for the enclosure, believe the price was 15 bob, 75p, and it didn’t rise in something like 3 decades during the 1920s,30s,40s.
1960’s
In 1968 a fan recalls writing to Celtic in asking to purchase a season ticket. “I received a letter written by Jock Stein pointing out that the number of season tickets was set at 500 and the club had no plans to increase that number and that there was no waiting list.”
1970’s
Another recalls “In the 1970’s season tickets were apparently limited to a 1000 for some reason, but I don’t know if that was all Scottish clubs. Possibly an SFA/league rule from the days of sharing the gate money 50/50 with the away team. Our family spot was the old enclosure, now call the Main, South Stand. When the old enclosure became the front stand, we got shiny plastic orange seats, Celtic advertised season tickets for that section in the View. Sure the price was £11.
Don’t know about oldest but I had my first one about 1976. I’m positive it was £12, which the old fella gave me. Up to West Nile St I went, and the book was handed over by D White himself. This was a season book in the true sense; entitled you to attend every game played at Celtic Park i.e. league, scottish cup, league cup, european cups, reserves
“I’ve had one (with two exceptions – the Kelly Boycott and 2010-11) for about 32 years. I thought the limit was 450 not 500 and was imposed by the SFA though. I think it was rangers got this changed. Anyway I had to go to Desmond White’s office to get it each year (you had to wait until someone gave theirs up) and had my name crossed off a sheet of foolscap paper by an elderly lady….

having a season ticket wasnt too relevant back in they days in terms of getting away tickets or hampden tickets.
it was all about queuing up at 6am!
it was still a scam in they days but we got much more tickets to disguise the scam.
now its just proper fat- cattery
team news should be out in 20 mins or so….
hopefully donovan for yang
Daizen for kenny
