Incentives all fall to Celtic for a change

194

After three rounds of games where everyone apart from Celtic had something to play for, the league table seems set ahead of the final weekend of the season.  Conversely, one week ahead of the Scottish Cup Final, Celtic players alone have an incentive.  This is why we can expect as close to a full-strength team as Ange Postecoglou can muster, which should mean the return of Joe Hart, Greg Taylor, Alistair Johnston, Jota and Kyogo to the starting line-up.

Results on Wednesday meant Aberdeen secured third spot and European group stage football, which will be a massive benefit to the club, fans and finances.  The turnaround since Barry Robson took over in February has been incredible.  Five years ago, as we ended our second 8-in-a-row season, we lost at home to Aberdeen on the final day of the season.  The Dons needed a win to ensure a second place finish in the table, which few of us grudged them.

Aberdeen are not in control of what happens tomorrow, that honour is Celtic’s.  We will return to form, win, and have an encouraging warm-up for the cup final.

My wife has a rotator cuff problem. She was unable to raise her arm and was in great pain lifting anything.

Cue my duty to make food and tidy up around the house. Not my forte.

My daughter brought us home the cold compression therapy system which she uses 3 times a day.

It’s helping a lot and soon hopefully, I’ll be eating proper home cooked meals.

Hello again all you young rebels.”

Hello Mick. It would take some delusion to consider me young but I am still a rebel :-))

Leaving in five minutes for my final game of the season. Looking forward to it and hoping the Radio 1 Road Show in Dundee does not affect our journey.

All the best to our Standard Bearer in Australia and regards to all your fellow exiled Tims.

    Cheerio for now.

  7. In Celtic’s first competitive endeavour, the club were playing in the Glasgow Exhibition Cup at the Exhibition grounds in Kelvinside and made it to the final to play Cowlairs. Celtic duly lost 2-0. The ‘Dundee Courier’ Newspaper in their match report had stated that:

“The defeat was serious as it was expected that Celtic composed largely of Edinburgh Hibernian and Renton, would be invincible“.

So from the off for Celtic, it was an invaluable lesson, and the tag was best locked away until the club had proven itself. Granted, it was not used by Celtic directly but by others, but still the club had to win first.

You are right that today is about celebrating. Hopefully I see you though there.

You are also right re employees of the club being transient. Also transactional these days.

Maybe you will be happy to see our man go after his failures in the recent meaningless matches. LOL.

Hopefully the new guy will have us sorted to ensure no pre season failures in those friendlies and Japanese tour games.

    See you later hopefully.

That’s the point of it, don’t let it, Ange himself would tell you the same, he is focused on today will likely say a few words after the game then he will focus on the final, he still has plenty to do at Celtic Park, not least another Champions League campaign which we enter as Champions and on merit. Enjoy

    HOT SMOKED

Thank you for the reply, it gets very lonely in these early Oz

mornings, when I’ve been out and about, all the while thinking

what team will Ange play ? why aren’t the CQN bhoys on the

road again, shouldn’t they be up and on the busses ?

I should know better, they’re there and they’re always there.

Will Ange be tempted to go seems to be the latest little worry

worm fed to our more nervous supporters, but when we know

the CS clubs are all on their way from Accrington and Arbroath

you realise this club of ours will always survive and despite

    some hiccups thrive.

Just wish I was on a supporters bus again with people like

yourself or meeting up with the bhoys in the Gallowgate, make

the most of it, we are so lucky to be born into the Celtic family.
