Industrial football after tactical treat

138

Celtic have a great opportunity to move five points ahead of Aberdeen after the same number of games with a win over Ross County tomorrow.  The Dons visit Tynecastle on Sunday after dropping five points from their last six.  With Celtic due to visit Pittodrie on Wednesday, Aberdeen’s challenge for the title depends on them digging results out over the next week.

Our previous game against Ross County this season was an atrocious battle, where late goals from Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn rescued the points.  County’s penalty that day was the first league goal Kasper Schmeichel conceded for Celtic, who remain one of only three teams to score Premiership goals against the champions this term.

Ross County’s win over Motherwell last week provided evidence that they may yet again be likely to defy expectations and survive another season in the Premiership.  They sit six points ahead of Hearts, who have a higher budget and better players.  There is nothing precious about County, they are an industrial unit who know how to get results.

Brendan Rodgers will take nothing for granted, but he will hope to establish an early lead and rest some legs ahead of a hectic December.

  1. Nope, not for the assisted suicide

Do you honestly think the genocide handlers at the red marketing hq would not extend it,they already started by proxy cutting heating allowance to the poorest and elderly.

Fuck! To think we used to take the high ground against the nazis….not any more, doors are open now for the weakest, humblest and most meek in the spectrum of disability to be suicided out.

Meantime hurrah for billionaires, offshore accounting, super incomes pay up skanks.

Imbalance, inequality and poverty needs to be approached, continuation of the same will mean extensions to the above, now that a wedge is in the door.

    Just me,life is valuable

  2. Would never get involved the assisted suicide stuff … but when we live through somebody in pain who if it was an animal the misery would be ended …

Not a subject I would wish to comment (again) on but every single case is different and if you witness somebody you love in pain in every second of every minute of every hour … I can assure you … sometimes you can question everything

Celtic 4-0 … Will stick by my pick earlier in n the Shipbank 🍀

Valle should play in all games until GT makes a decision.I like Greg, but he has

had a long time to think and not sure if its affecting his game.

Valle is a smashing young fella.Wonder if Barca would be up to extending the loan. All reports say they are delighted with his progress.

    …….

GT was bought as a leftback from Killie, and with Killie as a [ protected ] LB, courtesy of a [ parked midfield bus ] as he played in a Stevie Clarke team, and SC was a Josè Mourinho assistant manager for a long period of time.

So Celtic buy a player who is protected and hardly anybody can get near him, and then, GT comes to Celtic were there is zero protection in front of him, and most attackers have miles of space in which to attack the new LB, and Celtic fans start to judge GT as….

[ “Not the player we thought he was” and “He gets found out too easily” and “He canny make the step up” and “You can tell his heart isn’t in it” and “He gets skinned far too easily” and “Maybe Killie is his level” and “Who signed him Lawwell or the latest managerial puppet?” etc, etc. ]

How about, the Wullie Maley song has microchipped a default program into 60,000 heads and if signings don’t play like they’d just marched onto the pitch in Lisbon on 25th of May 1967, then they are mere Lawwell projects who’ll get bullied aff the park by Alloa, etc?

The entire playing network is caught up in a Wullie Maley song headlock and the club looks like they are trapped in 1967 and nobody knows how to get us out of it.

Martin O’Neill wrote a new script as in the year 2000, MON was not going to be able to go toe to toe, or pound£ for pound£ with an already £100 million ++ Rangers squad who spent another £40 million just after MON arrived, so MON had been watching Celtic from afar and concluded that Celtic needed to toughen up and drop this stupid naive going nowhere, always the mugs, style playing.

And rewrite over the style which had saw countless 1990’s Celtic manager’s sacked as losers.

In fairness, 3 years before MON, Wim Jansen toughened Celtic up by getting rid of the utterly useless, Peter the pointer, bought Craig Burley and we started winning some crucial midfield battles, before Fergus bull in a China shop made himself more important than the team on the pitch, and disgusted wily Wim and stamped his wee hooves until he made Wim resign for refusing to be a puppet.

MON must’ve been glad that wee horrible Fergus wasn’t at the club anymore or he might have had to decline us and Fergus would have caused more chaos than the Kelly’s and White’s combined in the previous 100 years.

So, the point is – the club needs to be released from having to be continually in tune with “The Wullie Maley Song” and play as needs be, ie, a manager who isn’t wed to one style, and can read the room between the SPFL and CL, EL, ECL, something which the similar, Ange and Brendan, seem to find great difficulty with, always getting caught between 2 stools, and landing on our asses when we really shouldn’t be.

The players need to be released from “TWMS” as well for their development, as one day some of them will be back as manager’s and will be wanting to have more than one tool in their tool boxes.

An example could be in the Seville 2003 season, MON had the players well tuned to his 3-5-2 formation, but, we had gone a full calender year without a win vs McLeish’s Hun team, which played 4-3-3 and had overturned MON’s team a few times in that year.

So, with 15 minutes until kick-off at Ibrox in April 2003, MON told his players they were playing 4-4-2 with a flat back 4 and we turned the tables on the diving Huns, who also played identical to Josè Mourinho’s Porto, 4-3-3 and dive as soon you look at them.

That same 4-4-2 system from MON in Seville would have snookered Porto and Josè Mourinho might never have made the career that he did.

A flat back 4 could have seen Celtic in the EPL 20 years ago eh.

The 2003 Uefa Cup trophy could have led to more European trophies for Celtic, and a bridge between Glasgow and West Belfast might have been built many years ago.

Instead of those dreams and songs to sing, Celtic are wearing the clothes from the Stein era which out of great respect for that era, the Wullie Maley song clothes simply don’t fit Celts from other eras.

So we need a new way, off the cuff tactics like MON at Ibrox, are more daring and challenging for players, who should have dozens of shock tactical traps to pull a surprise on opponents.

I thought Brendan had tactically arrived in Atalanta, then he showed that he had went back the way on Wednesday.

Too many resources can jar a managers thinking rather than enhance it.

To think that Jim MacLean won the SPL then took Dundee United to a European Cup Semi Final with a pool of 13 players!

Considering the multitude of possible formations, gameplans and strategies, is it not reasonable to be occasionally `surprised` by the opposition?

Thanks for the reply Hot Smoked….

Yes, we can be occasionally surprised. We can’t be waiting until we are in the dressing room to change things up, though.

    Cheers,

    Weeron.

  8. The Scottish Hun media [ Apart from Keevins, McNee, McCarra, Traynor(before horrible Fergus poisoned him) Cellic end journos appreciated Jim MacLean as a superb manager ] hated Jim MacLean cause he snubbed the Hun manager job as he’d need to ask what school the players went to.

Lucky for Timdom for MacLean would have won at least one European trophy for the Huns. He was a textbook manager.

Ah liked Jim MacLean cause ah didny get any cuddles either.

CLUNKS, I was scrolling back over last night and caught the above. Like many (most?) on here I just scroll past said monicker, but I do wonder what motivates someone to spend so much time writing all that stuff, knowing or suspecting that it is going to be largely ignored. Sad really, genuinely hope he is all right.
