Inexplicable talk

647

There can be no doubt that Brendan Rodgers has played his cards very publicly this week.  I don’t know the ins-and-outs of it, but it cannot be over losing a player he could not promise a starting position to.  I’m not buying that, there has to be something we are not seeing.

We have a modestly important league game tomorrow and a hugely important Champions League qualifier on Tuesday, so between now and Wednesday, at the earliest, it would be preferable not to allow this week of internally created negativity to drag on into yet another press conference.

We are also trying to convince Dedryck Boyata and Moussa Dembele to sign new contracts.  You and I know that talk getting in the way these objectives is as inexplicable as it is indulgent.

I tend to suspect the petrol to the flame was that the PLC was trying to sell Boyata mid-qualifiers and there was an almoghty stooshy between them and the manager (PLC’s fault) . The McGinn thing (no one’s fault) was the cherry on top which then caused Brendan, unusually, to err in his judgement and make things public (Brendan’s fault).

set up was changed second half when tr went off.

if ss or jf is dancing along the line that should leave the other winger and the two front men in the box.

we were more dangerous first half with one up front dont thin k lg added anything. imo

  4. Stebhoy you are seriously taking Hearts to beat Celtic??

A question or two for the Board supporters (notice… I am not calling names) …

And not asking to start an argument. I am trying to understand where you are coming from on this issue…

Do you think the Board will, at any time, address the issues of the 5WA, LNS, etc.(inlcuding what our Board knew, and when they knew it, and some explanation for how the last seven years happened as it has). If so, when?

Do you care if they do or not?

I don’t self-identify as a Board Supporter and I don’t think there are any- just people who do not see them as responsible for all that goes wrong.

But I will answer your questions.

    My answers are :-

Yes- don’t know when but it will be too late.

    and Yes, of course.

I am not a betting man,but if I were, Celtic would be on my betting slip to win the league.Anyone who fancies any other team to topple the champions…….name that team.

Never thought I would be discussing league positions so early……but there you go.Have to drive to Lisburn out

  11. Davy boy 66 – you know! when you watch your team for 45years, you develop an instinct! I remember Billy McNeil won the double in Centenary year – you just knew they were going to win.

Right now, given the situation at Celtic – I’m not feeling the energy. In fact, I thought this was evident on Wednesday night from the flat fans (GB exception) and the flat predictable play.

Its just a feeling mate – of course I hope we smash them and put Lafferty out for the season!

  13. Stebhoy I kinda know what you mean.

But I would say I do not have a good feeling about this game or that game, not I bet Hearts beat us the morra.

I just feel that after 1 game in the league which we won, people are going crazy after not signing a player. I think no I know this is what the press want, division in our ranks, and I know there is a rift inside the club. Players come and go. But we have to give the team our total support.

We have enough good players to take on and beat Hearts, but they could possibly best us, but I don’t think so.

Hail Hail sorry about the Hun comment

  14. Now that it looks like we are not in a position to accept an extremely favourable offer for Boyata, it’s imperative that we get him on a new contract, even a one year extension.

I’m thinking surely Brendan will play Boyata and Simunovic tomorrow, as they must play in Athens. Let’s cut Levein’s grass for him tomorrow.

We must share score in Athens and even if they score first, it doesn’t alter that. We must also continue to strengthen the team, even if we end up in the Europa. If worst comes to the worst, maybe the ‘supporters’ who booed on Wednesday will be among the many who desert us in that competition.

Who is the Referee tomorrow, Tom?

Having watched the Minis last weekend, and the Huns last night, I think that the kick and rush “robust” style of both these teams, and how their siege-mentality approaches, and combatant tackles are refereed, will have a huge influence on how well we do this season.

Tomorrow’s game will give us a very good indication.

I’m certain that Brendan will have noted all of this, and will have us well-prepared.

Hopefully, EK will be alongside SB in midfield tomorrow afternoon.

High balls up to the Hearts front men and a cavalry charge for the knock downs.

It will not be pretty. It will be a battle. No place for young boys at the back.

Ironically, Donegal kept the grass long last week against Tyrone and ran out of steam before the end.

We must keep them chasing shadows tomorrow.

That’s a great Blog to follow on from your slight ‘tangent’ yesterday.

Celtic supporters need your prolific Blog because you recognise that the positives far outweigh the off the radar nature of internet bampottery. There is no one pitching up in the car park, apart from millionaire players in their wicked 4 x 4’s.

We need to remember who the real bad guys are in Scotland, first hand reminders will be available for the away support tomorrow who get penned in and threatened at Tynecastle .SKY will big up Celtic’s ‘transfer woe’s ‘ that only truly exist when in the minds of those with no money to buy Kyle Lafferty.

In the fifties the support threw pennies at Bob Kelly in the main stand because he held the purse strings Fergus McCann got booed because he held the purse strings , in those days Celtic fans read newspapers SMSM

Celtic, or its custodians no matter how many heated drives, they put up are not our enemies, Brendan Rodgers has commended and applauded them, consistently for more than two seasons . Some negativists need a heavy dose of Celtic in normal society instead of using social media as a catharsis for whatever agenda they have against our club.

Two more signings at least before the deadline, and nothing but joy in the new Celtic way,

Glad there’s some re aligning of your tanks, and your pen ( keyboard ) is still mightier than the sword.

I don’t think it’s about the age. Ajer and Hendry have played against them before for Kilmarnock and Dundee respectively, as well as for us. I’ve never seen them outmuscled in an aerial battle.

I wouldn’t have a problem with those two at the back.

However, Ajer unlikely to play as we need to play the pairing that will start on Tuesday.

Which could mean Boyata and Simunovic…
