Injustice for the cheats, win two tickets for Sunday

379

By any measure, last night was tough on Juventus.  A heroic performance at the Bernabeu to take a 0-3 lead, only to be denied by a soft penalty at the death.  Juventus are the pin-up boys for cheating in football, Oldco Rangers failure to register second contracts pales into insignificance to what the team from Turin were doing over the same period.

As I watched the pains of injustice on the faces of Buffon and his teammates I wondered how they feel about the titles some of them still claim to have “won on the field.”  Or, whether their perpetual fouling and gamesmanship against Celtic in 2013 even merits a memory.

I didn’t care either way who won last night but Juventus going out feeling cheated seems about right.

What was Stuart’s moniker? I hope I conversed with a musical Glesca Genius.

  3. David66 they did buy kits for that school. People wanted to see if they could get adult sizes but they were informed that they were exclusively for the kids.

Coolest team in Scotland (apart from the obvious one!)

    Hail Hail

  4. Delaney’s, he posted under the obvious but rather unimaginative name Stuart Braithwaite.

    Bit of a giveaway.

I am also very conflicted on season ticket renewal, and will be holding off for a while yet in the hope of some pressure having an effect on Celtic pushing (publicly) for an answer from the Compliance Officer should none be forthcoming in the next 3 weeks. It could help if others considered doing likewise. I am not expecting miracles, but a public statement on next steps, and a timescale, at least would provide some encouragement. HH

It was class. If I was carrying blaw, I would probably whacked the nut on you, then ran like hell oot the ground and away.??

James Taylor is one of my all-time favourites, that track in particular is a great memory from my formative years. Mud Slide Slim – superb album.

Now that Douglas Park has been appointed as Deputy Dawg (Hey Muskie!) at Sevco, why are the FTSFA not piling in with fines for the individuals and clubs involved, just like they did for Mike Ashley and Sevco.

A look at the relevant rule…

    Scottish FA’s disciplinary rule 19

“Except with the prior written consent of the Board: (a) no club or nominee of a club; and (b) no person, whether absolutely or as a trustee, either alone or in conjunction with one or more associates or solely through an associate or associates (even where such person has no formal interest), who: (i) is a member of a club; or (ii) is involved in any capacity whatsoever in the management or administration of a club, or (iii) has any power whatsoever to influence the management or administration or a club, may at the same time either directly or indirectly:- (a) be a member of another club; or (b) be involved in any capacity whatsoever in the management or administration of another club; or (c) have any power whatsoever to influence the management or administration of another club.”

… Seems pretty straightforward. As a major shareholder in The Accies, and now a Board Member at Rangers he is now clearly in breach of SFA rules.

I suppose the announcement of the fine will be made presently. No?

Morning all! Grand day today playing Dundonald Links courtesy of the course given for marshalling at the recent Opens held there.

May I congratulate them on being the first course to offer such an experience to Marshalls in the time I have been doing it (since 1989) and it was a pleasure albeit gruelling even using a buggy! It is long!!

However,I digress. The main reason for posting was to elaborate on the Word of the Day!

VFR had kindly offered to add CCB and 2 daughters to his taxi to game on Sunday but a family confab had decided that albeit a long trek for CCB 5 or 6 successive wins at Hamdump when setting from Neeson’s was a good enough reason to stick to the normal routine….Hence, ‘Thanks,VFR,but don’t want to change the Feng-Shui!!

    CQN a lesson every day??

Baw baw noo blooming knackered and I was in a buggy?

  11. Morning CQN, everyone sleep well last night then ?

    Friesdorfer,

If you still have a copy of Mud Slide Slim on one of those cylinder type recordings from your formative years, it’s probably worth a few shillings now ;-)

  12. Gooooooooooood Morning CQN

This bloody work thing is getting in the way my Celtic time :-)))

Mind you takes a few minutes to get by the new screen adverts on here as well

Now for me, start with Paddy R one one side and Scott S on the other in this weekends game ?

Simonuvic in at CH as well

FtSFA, it’s Hamdump, and it’s so called independent committees – Bryson, Petrie, Dickson, how are they still there ? And as hunderbitds has raised, what they doing about some newly appointed Deputy Dawg, who holds a significant shareholding in another club, who have given away a player on the never never promise ???

So I’m another who will hold off until latest possible to consider renewing my 2 season tickets

Oh – how on earth did that Marspapa fhella, manage to post photies :-)))))

    Hail Hail

  13. My friends in Celtic,

Despite the many considerations : Deep down, each of us already know if we will renew or not.

    Imo of course.

    HH.

  14. Bateen Bhoy, probably in the loft somewhere. I’ll have a look next time I’m rummaging around up there. HH

    GREENPINATA

I dunno, mate. I’ve talked a few into renewing over the years, and shamed a few others by saying I wish I could take their ticket.

Of course, they might just have been looking for a reason to renew,as you suggest.

    Others stuck to their guns.

My own opinion is that everyone who supports Celtic wants to see them every week. Leaving aside those who are-for various reasons-unable to,justifying turning your back is difficult. But sometimes things happen where an otherwise unpalatable option is the only one left available.

We’ve all done things on a point of principle, only to have some eejit saying-“aye,but who’s gonna notice?”

The answer to that is,of course-“I will!”

  20. What would be the most opportune time for the SFA Compliance Officer to release the report into the EBT/registration scandal?

I’d wager that it would be just after a humiliating defeat for the national team in a farcical summer friendly in Lima.

I bet he is jealous of the SFA Licensing Committee, who by comparison have the rather easy task of just turning a blind eye. Another blind eye! I know we go on about poodles and lapdogs at Hampden but surely by now they are overrun with labradors with high-vis reins????

I like to think that he’ll bury it on a day of really bad and controversial news.

Like when the SFA grow a pair and deny their works team a UEFA licence.

Caveat-aye,I’ve just cracked a coupla cans, hard few nightshifts lately!

Oh ok, so you are at the optimism stage of the drinking process?

I’m about 10 hours away from that – half day at work then 5 and half hour drive to Cumbria.

  23. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on 13TH APRIL 2018 8:19 AM

The discussion about delaying season ticket renewal till the club puts pressure on SFA Compliance Officer to report his findings confuses me a bit (not that difficult these days I admit). What if the club does put bit of pressure on and the CO finds that there is no case to answer or there is but there’s no point in taking any action, what will ST holders do then?

It would be far more effective if all Celtic supporters had boycotted all SFA run competitions including this Sunday’s semi-final. I’m pretty damn sure we might have had a much quicker conclusion to the CO’s investigation if that had happened than a few hundred of our own ST holders delaying their renewals and sending strongly worded letters to the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer.

As far as I am concerned, the professional game in Scotland is as bent and corrupt as it has ever been and hell will freeze over before I would put a thin dime into it. Sadly, I don’t see it ever changing in my lifetime unless Celtic as the biggest club in the land and its supporters got really serious about tackling the cheats at the top of the game.

  24. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    M6BHOY

And therein lies the problem. I cannot disagree with a word of what you say. Yet I still can’t bring myself to back a boycott of our club. I’m certainly not known as a fan of the board, nor of the SFA,but still cannot bring myself to throw my hat in your direction.

    Even though you’re right.

  25. Hunderbirds are Gone on

In view of the unjustifiable delay in the release of any statement from the FTSFA Compliance officer. He may do well to consider these two quotes I found lying around.

“Delay is the deadliest form of denial”. C. Northcote Parkinson.

“You may not be punished for your procrastination, but for sure you will be punished by your procrastination”. Debasish Mridha.
