Inner Record culture disrobed, signing up to the Celtic rulebook

In many places it would be practically inconceivable that someone could be employed in this position:

And get away with running rubbish like this on a back page cover:

capture-20170119-220127
But then you see more and get a picture of the organisation involved:

The Record have been caught displaying their inner culture and will no doubt be forced into a remedial action, but getting caught was just misfortune. The culture exists and has informed articles for years.  They have gone too far down this road to even begin to understand what they’ve done to a once-strong demographic.

An echo reached me from 2012 today, which illuminated yesterday’s article. As the SPL debated serious issues in 2012, a consensus emerged on what subsequently took place. There were hold-outs to the new majority, however.

One director of a club near Glasgow (no guesses, now) made his position clear: “I’m not signing up to any f****** Celtic rulebook.”

The comment met with incredulity, as the Celtic rulebook wasn’t part of the conversation. Fans and clubs across the country came to the same conclusion about how our game should proceed.  It was no more the Celtic rulebook than the Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs rulebook, but prejudices occasionally seep out when people don’t get what they want.

This is what we’re up against. They are still out there, writing articles for the paying public, or voting on the future of our game.

As for the Celtic rulebook, I’ve seen it. It contains one page and only three words: “Pay your bills.” That doesn’t sound like much but remarkably, it may deliver 20-in-a-row. I hope others don’t start to copy us.

Are you having a laugh and I’m the tube biting?

” Strange why no one took Hibs ”

Maybe because they weren’t listed on the teams you could select, or are you sending me a different list to everyone else?

That City midfield looks a bit lightweight for playing Tottenham.

    Very brave or very stupid…..

  4. JimmynotPaul – Oops, neither they were. That explains it then. Who picks these fixtures???

For those of you unable to access Phil’s latest, here is the intriguing bit …

Celtic and Stoke have had an informal discussion regarding Bojan Krkic Perez.

The Scottish Champions would be willing to offer a record fee for the Spaniard.

For the avoidance of doubt, a sum greater than Celtic has ever paid for any player.

However at the time of writing the Parkhead club have not been able to meet Stoke’s valuation for the Spanish playmaker.

However, the English club is top heavy in forward going players, and Mark Hughes knows that he will have to trim his squad.

Therefore, a deal is not out of the question.

I hope Phil is wrong, for us to pay more than we have ever done we should be looking at better players than Bojan who can’t get a game for Stoker FFS, he would have been worth buying 5-6 years ago, in fact we were linked with him IIRC, he is a decent player, at least he was, but more than £6 mill, he is on £60K a week at Stoke, can’t see Pedro sanctioning it, thankfully :-)

  9. I wouldn’t describe Bojan as a playmaker, he’s a striker simple as. Also pretty injury prone and on huge money.

About the only time the LLS is good is when it pays tribute to Irish musicians.

It’s his destiny to finish them off after all the abuse he took, nothing more fitting

I canny wait for Neil to bring his Hibs team to Celtic Park

What do you make of the argument of Corals QC who did not use liquidation to defend his client?

  14. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Gerry..,

I’m suggesting it’s Lenny’s destiny to end everything ibrox, nothing more or less.

The abuse he got was not from a club or team but a demographic.

But if you want to interpret that as a same club/team argument, go right ahead if you need to operate on that level.

  15. It is my understanding that all the money from all the Scottish Cup fixtures in each round is pooled, less expenses for each club hosting each game and it is then split between all the clubs competing in that round.

I thought Lenny turned over the new club at a wee final last season.

Killed the old and destined to do the same to the pretenders, destined to do it on all levels :)

Only jesting, I know what happened to the original club, and I know the same flies deserve everything that comes to them, and Neil thrived on their “hatred” good always (hopefully) overcomes evil :-)

Our Neil is and always will be in my top 3 Celts on the park firstly, secondly as manager last 16 & the rest but most importantly Neil is a Celtic fan who done his utmost to follow his mentor from Leicester to live the dream

I think she is appearing during the Temple Bar Tradfest, perhaps in one of the churches.

  20. 2-1. Spurs remember that Citeh can’t defend and finally go on the attack. Should be some last thirty minutes.
