Apart from international breaks, when much of the squad is away, this is the first midweek Celtic do not have a game in over three months. For Wilfried Nancy, it is the first opportunity he has to spend time with the players without the pressure of preparing for a game, or recovering from a chastening experience. Christmas Day aside, this will be one of the most intense period of development since Ange first said, “Let me explain about inverted full-backs.”
Anything that can be achieved at Lennoxtown is likely to be needed ahead of the next three games. I hope someone has a word with Wilfried about Livingston. He is unlikely to have faced such a negative and timewasting side in his coaching career. Coming from the North American game, he will be familiar with plastic pitches, which adds an extra challenge to the occasion. Motherwell and Newco are far better teams, but they may present more straightforward propositions.
The point was made to me after Sunday’s win that it is clear how much the players are fighting for him. Without that commitment, teams do not make so many chances or get late winners. The lack of fight which some of us thought evident at Hampden a week earlier, was replaced by persistent pressure.
Adversity binds people, even those with little in common. The horrendous treatment Wilfried endured at Tannadice was either going to break or make his relationship with the players. Hopefully for all concerned, it is the latter.

Back our Board and Wilfried Nancy. Petition:
Give it a rest.
Agree with backing the manager but the board? Are on drugs?

The whole second half against 10 men.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
We need improvements asap.

Mines or Martin Niemöller’s?
Backing a board who clearly do not back the aspirations of the supporters. Led by an oligarch who would rather be on the golf course than watch his “beloved” Celtic…..no thanks…

You’re most welcome. Too splendid an array not to share, mo chara.
The ridiculous polarisation on here has taken a new turn.
In the recent past you either had to be – ‘back the board and blame BR’, or ‘sack the board and support BR’.
It seems now that the only available alternatives are – ‘back the board and Nancy’ v ‘sack the board and Nancy’.
I happen to be one of those supporters who think, largely from reading Auldheid’s informed views about UEFA Financial Stability Regulations that the Board’s hands are largely tied on what we can afford to spend, but also remain very sceptical about the Nancy appointment.
Is such an unorthodox position – ‘qualified support for the Board and Nancy on a final warning’ – allowed?

You can support who or whom you choose.
I just find it unpalatable to back a board who hates us…
I take it normal Tammany Hall rules apply to this petition.
Sign early and sign often.

Spikey,
Would it be OK if I came and watched them?.
I think Wilf’s longevity will be determined by how quickly we have a scorer in the team. Foot dragging and/ or dross loans will be his death knell as his team will continue to lose goals as a loss leaders for the chances created. Every game will include at least some period of exciting Celtic play, which in itself is a blessed relief from late Brendan Rodgers. Whether it will deliver better results remains at question.
His style certainly won’t succeed with the current quality of (fit) forwards at the club.
PS I guess the Peter Lawwell tribute remains on ice until the temperature reduces.
PPS I remain disgusted by the Nancy GTF chants on Wednesday. This is not his shitshow. Attribution where it is warranted please.
Old Milanda Bread Board head still manning the rampage I see.
Well done that chap.
There is fault in many avenues. Most of us are not privy to most of it, subsequently we form views based on what we see and hear.
One thing I know for sure I am not on the same page as the Nancy, Nancy GTF gang.
HH.
PLB,
Good thing is,we dont have long to wait until we ALL see if the Board is backing the manageer.

“….Auldheid’s informed views about UEFA Financial Stability Regulations that the Board’s hands are largely tied on what we can afford to spend,”
That word `informed` is very important and, perhaps, missing from many of the anti-Board comments.
I am sure there will be valid anti-Board posts but I am not sure they will give the full picture.
Bhoys Town @ 12:21 pm,
Yes….
Watching on awe… as the placemen take up their new counter offensive:))
They use’d to blame me for the disharmomy and negitivity and “bitterness” and being “wee”
And yet – here we are, it still seeps out of every pore of them…
All I was trying to point out was Brendan, was a good football manager and coach and we should be watching out for the agenda merchants….
I wouldn’t put too much store on what AH and the Board say about FSR.
It is simple ArithmeTic…
Celtic could have spent 110mn on the team and not breached FSR, that’s….
£110,000,000.00
So….
Don’t~Believe~The~Hype
Hail Hail
Greenpinta,
Frustration and rage sometimes overflow.A freezing wet night in Dundee to watch the team collapse not the best situation, and I am sure won’t be repeated.,
Funnily enough,I never heard yourself,or any others, mention the abuse that BR got on here, from his haters, over a very prolonged time frame. Not standing frustrated and freezing, but dished out from the comfort of their cosy home
Abuse is abuse.
Given that on just about every resolution voted on at the AGM (on Director re-appointments etc) carried with 99.1% of the vote, I’m not sure whether a bakers dozen of signatures on a petition is going to carry too much much weight. Or a meringue?
So we know it can be tricky in January re bringing in and assimilating players etc.
Even if intent is good. Which personally I believe it will be.
No guarantees we get our first picks in immediately and we do have a tricky January.
Personally given we are playing a faster attacking style more aligned to Ange style I would not be against a return for Kyogo immediately for 3 reasons :
He knows the terrain here and would be welcomed.
He would be really driven to succeed give. His year away and lack of opportunity at either club.
He would score in a team playing this style and would definitely concern our opponents.
Of course he would not be a long term solution and we would be after further striking options but we do also have Ianacho and Osmand to come back and Kyogo in would ease the stress a bit.
For me priority is a left and a right sided CB who suit WN style plus a right sided wing back.
The Enemy.
Just for you CB

MILANDA BREAD ,THE BEST BREAD EVER TASTE ,BACK IN THE DAY ,TODAY’S BREAD ITS THAT BAD EVEN TOASTING IT DOSENT TASTE GOOD ,THEY TORYS AND LABOUR GOVERNMENTS IN THE SEVENTIES AND 80S HAVE A LOT TO ANSWER FOR FOR SHUTTING DOWN THE BAKERIES
Seeing ‘Milanda’ get a mention from Turkeybhoy@1.24 brought to mind the glorious history of Glasgow works teams fitba when (Mothers) Pride of Place must go to the team that represented that very bakery. AC Milanda
A team which unfortunately shared at least one of the characteristics of Brother Wilfried’s Celtic…..
Their defence was prone to getting sliced open…
