Intense period of development

144

Apart from international breaks, when much of the squad is away, this is the first midweek Celtic do not have a game in over three months.  For Wilfried Nancy, it is the first opportunity he has to spend time with the players without the pressure of preparing for a game, or recovering from a chastening experience.  Christmas Day aside, this will be one of the most intense period of development since Ange first said, “Let me explain about inverted full-backs.”

Anything that can be achieved at Lennoxtown is likely to be needed ahead of the next three games.  I hope someone has a word with Wilfried about Livingston.  He is unlikely to have faced such a negative and timewasting side in his coaching career.  Coming from the North American game, he will be familiar with plastic pitches, which adds an extra challenge to the occasion.  Motherwell and Newco are far better teams, but they may present more straightforward propositions.

The point was made to me after Sunday’s win that it is clear how much the players are fighting for him.  Without that commitment, teams do not make so many chances or get late winners.  The lack of fight which some of us thought evident at Hampden a week earlier, was replaced by persistent pressure.

Adversity binds people, even those with little in common.  The horrendous treatment Wilfried endured at Tannadice was either going to break or make his relationship with the players.  Hopefully for all concerned, it is the latter.

Back our Board and Wilfried Nancy. Petition:

    https://c.org/7zMNYQ7SWp

    =============================================================

Try Ibrox, you might get more names there or split the petition into 2

  2. The squad did look they were giving everything on Sunday, perhaps as much for each other as for BW which can only be a good thing. Maybe coming through this sort of terrible spell without the safety blanket of a more inspirational manager will lead to sort of individual and collective personal development the squad has been lacking a bit. We need more leaders on the pitch, a bit more individual character.

They’ve been written off as no good a couple of times now, a get it up ye is as good a motivator as anything else.

  3. Kyogo for Yang is a no brainer,a hunskelper supreme,he would have put 3 or 4 away on Saturday and the Romanian striker looks decent, we need 2 in ASAP

  4. Now that Huns have broken ranks and have went all in on Hearts for the league, Kris Boyd has publically backed Hearts. We should back Celtic not Nancy but Celtic to win the League, Its what Celtic supporters should be about, Celtic Supporters should support Celtic, Boycott of Games and Merchandise harms the club. Only singing one Celtic song at Tannadice is not good enough support.

thought he had a far better game versus the sheep then his previous few outings…

  9. the cheese shop sketch…

akin to WN turning up at Lennoxtown and asking M Nicholson if a has a centre forward….

  10. Why do we have the boomarang syndrome. ?

Players leave for a reason. Kyogo was desperate to leave us.

We are not a care home for ex players who have bombed. This is not the Kyogo at his peak who we knew and loved.

The sea is big and I’m sure there are better options available.

If this puts the board under pressure, so be it.

    HH.

PS : TB earlier, I always supported BR . I’ve stated numerous times I thought he was the best possible fit for us. But towards the end it just wasn’t working.

If fans want to show displeasure, it’s up to them. But personally I do not think it helps the team.

The GTF chants were just crass though. I”ve got friends who were there and thought the same.

Be wary when someone with an air of authority suddenly appears just as a discussion nears an uncomfortable truth.

    Their playbook is predictable.

The Opener – A disarming gesture, a bit of charm, a friendly joke, or a show of agreement to lower your guard.

The Misdirection – The core move. A rebuttal that pivots the conversation onto a tangential point, sending everyone off on a wild goose chase away from the original, sensitive topic.

The Closer – A final flourish, another joke, a pun, or a feigned humility (“Maybe I was wrong about that…”) to leave a pleasant aftertaste and reel the audience back in.

It’s a diversionary tactic as old as time itself. Keep an eye out for it here; it happens more often than you might think.

  12. From the Whifflet Herald:-

Michael Nicholson is working hard behind the scenes but has warned his family that Christmas shopping is extremely challenging.

Nicholson acknowledged that mistakes had been made in the past and, as a consequence, several family members had missed out on Christmas presents.

He also stated that although he understood the frustrations of those who missed out, the Nicholson household had been solvent for a great many years & he would not put the long-term financial future of the family at risk.

Reports also indicate that he has lost out on a PlayStation 5 for his son, which preferred to go to a kid in Brighton.

There is fault in many avenues. Most of us are not privy to most of it, subsequently we form views based on what we see and hear.

One thing I know for sure I am not on the same page as the Nancy, Nancy GTF gang.

    ……

It will be interesting to see how many of these chants are heard at Parkhead vs the Huns in the New Year game.

    BUT.

If the Old Firm need to be given a kiss of life then Celtic Plc will probably have already agreed to a Mibbery stitch up to force Nancy to leave, but not straight away.

All for Old Firm reasons of course.

    AND THEN.

There is the PLC revenge on the Collective angle were the Plc will just make us all watch the likely Nancy slow car crash if we are crushed by this horrible Hun team.

View it as a belated Christmas present from the Plc.

PS Auldheid you have won. I just go along with every word that you say about everything from now on as I don’t have the time to read 45 pages of rules, KNOWING THAT, sooner or later a loop hole will be found [with Celtic Plc looking the other way as usual] for the Huns to slip through, just like Bonny [my erchie] Scotland being allowed to implement its own version of VAR.

  14. Life Of Brian – the Welease Bwian scene – the board have had even more widiculous moments – Welease Kyogo/Idah/Yang/Daizen but not the funds….

I think we had to go to East Kilbride to see it in the cinema as Glasgow City Council wouldn’t allow it to be shown.

  18. As things currently stand after 17 games played, we’re on course for a 78 point league finish. You’d need to go back a generation to see a league being won with that tally.

So we don’t have time for development and growth. WN needs to win games now.

The fact some of us our worrying about Livi is probably quite telling.

    Win. No excuses.

  19. Why have the Collective not mentioned that duplicitous Rodgers kept the entire Transfer Windows from last season, 11 Million Quid Engels etc, sitting on the bench behind Rodgers whilst he bleated for more players, as we failed to defeat Kiarat Almaty?

Was there match fixing going on, which cost Celtic 40 Million in lost CL revenues?

Which the Collective don’t mention either.

The board should have been sacked in 2005 when MON went out of his way to warn you all about, “THE SLOW LANE”, and 2 faced post Jungle era fans called MON a “Dinosaur” because sacking the board was too much time and effort for them.

The PLC know that the “Collective” are/were trapped in a Rodgers psychological arm lock, and just dismiss the “Collective” as a bunch of easily manipulated era of Celtic fans who’ll demonstrate that they have been Toryed by the PC since 1994.

Toryed = Powerful vs Weak issues, Weak vs Powerful issues.
