  5. Next up NL telling us the team did well in difficult conditions, the team are tired, 30+ games already, blah blah blah

With each passing game i’m becoming more convinced NL is leaving at the end of the season. Short termism, same players week in week out irrespective of form, he’s more interested in an unbeaten league campaign over long term planning.

Defensively we are excellent, middle to front we are poor.

    Tin hat on here…..

    Would you rather;

    a) Celtic dropped 3 points in one of the upcoming matches in January but subsequently abandoned a nonsensical pursuit of going the season unbeaten and used the rest of the season to plan ahead, generate some interest, blood some younger/fringe players into the team?

    b) Watched this turgid procession to the Championship from now until May?

Seriously, these types of performances would get football stopped.

A bit disappointing when you are waiting most of the weekend to see the game and this gets served up. Well a win is a win but it certainly wasn’t achieved ‘The Glasgow Celtic Way’.

I can only conclude that the sun was in NL’s eyes for most of the game because he failed to see what was glaringly obvious to the rest of us.

Am I spoiled and should just be glad to be top of the League and walking it? All I know is I am getting very disillusioned by everything about my club on and off the park. This Site is about opinions and I am just expressing mine.

Hearts and Motherwell were only a matter of weeks ago and looks at our form now?

Sorry if i am not a happy clapper,

we should be better than these performances and next cup game that means anything, will we be able to re find our form?

We know transfer window is coming up in next couple of days but does anyone really think we’ll sign anyone of any quality? or more projects and nearly men?

  14. I love to see Celtic winning, but this is dire certainly not with any style or flourish.

We have a manager who can’t or is unwilling to make changes during a game, substitutions only come after 80mins and games we should have sewn up we sit on the edge for the last five minutes in case some blunder allows the opposition to score.

Too many out there today getting appearance money definitely not for the effort.

Admittedly today was pretty turgid, but, we are on a lengthy unbeaten run, and haven’t conceded any goals either.

If you read the secret footballer there is a great point about everyone in the dressing room having an agenda.

I suspect NL’s is a record points tally and to go through season unbeaten.

Like you, I would like to see a few youngsters on the park, but I recall our naive loss here three years ago, which cost us the league , and, on reflection, 1 nil will do for me .

  21. I really couldn’t care less about going unbeaten for however long. I wantto be entertained and if I can’t have that I want it to be because we are trying players or systems out and planning forrthe future. When I’m getting neither I have to question why I’m continuing to watch. I’m not surprised crowds are dropping.

  24. Afternoon all

As I said a few weeks ago there is no such thing as a bad win.

But that was a dire display for the most part on a crappy pitch with too many players so far off form that it’s hard to remember that they are good players.

I saw SFTB’s comments re the distribution of good/middling/poor games in the good old days and – though I like to disagree with the fella- he is , as usual, not far from the truth. But I do think standards are lower than they should be – a helluva lot of those middling games I saw between 67//8 and 82/3 were far better than the stuff I’ve seen pre- Milan at CP and post Barca this season were of a basically higher standard

No such thing as a bad win but accept it was a poor game. But we’ve had worse results up there.

Pretty uninspiring stuff altogether. Disappointed for the many fans who left the house before the sun was awake, and got little to enjoy beyond a couple of Kris Commons moves.

The team are rarely stretched by the opposition, and look unprepared to stretch themselves, making for poor fayre for the onlooker. The ‘just enough’ mentality will result sooner or later in a late goal conceded, which might be the kick in the pants they need.

Neil will be happy enough to extend his unbeaten run, but he needs to address the mentality of players who are content to turn up without turning on.

The joke is on us. The fans. The paying fodder. That performance was crap. The mid game management was AWOL. I didn’t see any clappers on CQN during the game saying “well done Lenny and the Bhoys”. The result doesn’t hide the mediocrity we are forced to endure by this board and management. As a fan of some 30 years, a shareholder, an attendee at Celtic Park and purchaser of merchandise, I have a right, I think a duty, to say enough is enough. Bin this dross- play football THE GLASGOW CELTIC WAY. We don’t have to be the biggest club in the world to exemplify such an ethos- look at Swansea- Martinez and Laudrup stamped a style, a swagger on their teams. We can surely match that?
