INVINCIBLE UP FOR GRABS

SCOTT SINCLAIR, one of Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic Invincibles, is a free agent after leaving Preston.

The 33-year-old former England winger, who cost £6million when he joined the Hoops from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016, is up for grabs with his two-and-a-half-year stay at the Championship club coming to an end.

Sinclair won nine honours and was part of the dream team in season 2016/17 that went through the entire domestic campaign without a loss while winning the treble. He spent four years at Parkhead before ex-boss Alex Neil, now at Sunderland, took him to Deepdale.

The writing was on the wall for the one-time Hoops fans’ favourite, as CQN reported five weeks ago.

Sinclair has scored just 14 goals for the club and has played a mere two and a half hours of first team football in the last three months. He was not included in the squad for the 4-1 win over Middlesbrough yesterday to finish 13th in the table.

The former Chelsea, Swansea and Manchester City ace said on Instagram: “My time has come to an end at the club, I would like to thank the fans and my team mates for the past two and a half years.

“Exciting times ahead my journey continues.”
