Irony behind robust SFA rules

1103

The statement released by Duff and Phelps last night revealed the substance to the lobbying that had taken place since the original punishment handed out by the SFA judicial panel:

“The decision by the appellate tribunal to uphold the sanction, namely the suspension of registration of players for one year, is not competent in the view of the club and its legal advisers.

“Such a sanction was not available to the tribunal”.

The suspension of player registrations was not one of the suggested punishments on the menu for the judicial panel but the rules allowed them to vary from guidance and choose whatever punishment they believed appropriate.

The appeal correctly found that the judicial panel were not were not subject to an exhaustive list of possible punishments.  Duff and Phelps main hope was that the SFA rules were unclear and poorly constructed, as they were before an overhaul last year.

You don’t need to look too hard for the irony.

On refs I have a cunning plan ;)

To raise much needed cash for the ole RFF, ole Dick Byrne has offered to sit on his wallet for 1872 days, or until the result of the big tax case, whichever is later.

Go have a look at Rangers Media Bears Den – it’s so funny, I mean, really, really funny.

    Here’s a good one:

A good friend of John Reid

John Reid called the Famine song “vile vicious and racist”

Lord Carliway subsequently deemed it racist in court

The SFA appoint Lord Carloway to sit in judgement of Rangers

    You make a good comment.

There is every chance that John Fleming has been intimidated, it is their way after all.

I remember reading on Phil’s site that JF was a good man but he needed all the luck in the world, or words to that effect.

Mr Regan has come from the outside and perhaps we need to bring in a referee supervisor from outside, to protect the role itself, as much as anything else.

Yes, they probably do. When fans do it from the stands club gets punishments, pays a lot of money. Clubs pay a lot of money for high level of language violations.

    You see the difference?

Player sang that song in the public place, not supporters.

I believe that bringing the refs into line would be a relatively easy task.

All that is required is to allow them to employ the rules of the game, which they all know.

Only one position has to be rectified; and that is the Fleming Role.

He sets the agenda, which refs know how to operate.

Getting the Disciplinary Process sorted was a much greater task, which has taken a year to bear (?) fruit.

One meeting with the Referee Supervisory Committee would be all that is needed to fully clean up the game.

    “Those days have gone”. J.Reid.

  10. Really don’t understand the RFF. I would be tempted to ask what they are fighting but would get a deluge of anybody that looked at them the wrong way or such like.

All they are doing is prolonging the agony/ecstasy while funding Duff & Duffer by proxy.

Has anyone in the MSM asked Dingleberry if there is a mark up on t-shirts and flags?

Also don’t want to necessarily have more accounting on the site but if RFF have access to Ipox and promoted on ‘fishul web site and have stated that they are giving the funds to the club does that not make the funds generated part of other income for the club and not charitable donations and liable for tax and VAT?

See if I was in the disability benefit section of the DHSS, I think I would be tempted to take a wee dauner down to old Ibrox on Sunday and film the walkers.

I agree that our current strikers don’t score enough headed goals – I reckon Joe Ledley or PotY have scored the most headed goals at the club this season. But the guy can score goals, and a goal counts the same if it’s headed, kneed, or kicked into the net. I don’t see him as part of the long term plan, but worth looking at for a season or so – Doing us a turn like Robbie Keane and Craig Bellamy did.

  17. RANGERS fans’ chief Andy Kerr today urged the club to fight the legalities of the SFA’s transfer embargo to the ends of the earth.

And in a stark warning, Kerr also insisted that the Ibrox support will mobilise themselves to ensure the ramifications of the ban will be felt by ALL SPL clubs.

Kerr said: “There is widespread anger among the Rangers fans, as you can well imagine. We will take a stand now.”

Obviously the bold Kerr has forgot about Sion, if they are going to target SPL clubs the clubs might as well bin them now.

THe FAI had their arms twisted to take this action. The Loughinisland families led by their solicitor, Niall Murphy, went to New York and Washington in March. Bill Flynn, Jim Murray, a lawyer close to Obama and Patrick Doherty – Director of Corporate Governance, Division of Pension Investment and Cash Management at the Office of the State Comptroller for New York all applied the pressure on John Delany of the FAI.

The delegation also confronted and embarrassed Secretary of State Owen Paterson and Head Constable Baggott while there.

As you know not one person has been charged , the getaway car and other evidence was destroyed by the PSNI and the police ombudsman was caught out repeatedly.

This is a big breakthrough for the families

Sir Patrick Mayhew’s Comments re Barney Green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IgZ7HWku-g At the time he is saying this, the RUC have their Special Branch agent Mechanic in Tennant Street sorting his story out, as the car would subsequently be traced to him. His following Secretary of State would grant a royal prerogative of mercy in June 1998 (pre GFA) to the getaway driver, a rapist and paedophile.

The issues are horrendous and are not being dealt with by the State.
