Not only are Newco left without an auditor, a Nomad and therefore a market listing, outgoing auditors Deloitte, wrote to the club last month to explain they were resigning due to threatening and intimidating messages received by their staff from anonymous persons during 2013 and 2014 in relation to their work with the club.
The toxicity of that football club is difficult to overstate. Is it any wonder Celtic fans are clear: the ‘Old Firm’ died in 2012? Any attempts to rekindle it will result in contagion for our own club, who maybe smaller going forward without the ‘Old Firm’ dividend, but it will be healthier nonetheless.
I’ll take 40,000 crowds and winning the next 30 titles in a canter, bring it on.

Evening,
For what it’s worth, I have a few friends in Greece, known over many years, they know what’s at stake, but they would rather face what’s coming, than being forced into the impossible.
As a little aside, who was the biggest debt defaulter in Europe, in the 20th century?
Hellas, hellas!
Lily’s grampa says No!
What is really clear about the Greek referendum is the lack of clarity of what it all
means !
I was there last week and that uncertainty was voiced by the Greeks I spoke to. Even the question being asked in the Referendum was unfathomable for most.
The choice of “OHI” when faced with such uncertainty was perhaps understandable given what “OHI” means in historical terms for the Greeks.
Add Tsipras’ ability to sway opinion into the uncertainty that prevails there an “OHI” vote was on the cards.
Good to see that the Greeks have voted No.
Perhaps they took their lead from Scotland.

Germany didn’t default.
A lot of their debt was written off, the interest rate was cut and repayment was linked to their ability to pay.
SFTB,17:26.
Thanks for the info, will need to be more attentive in future,I was more in awe of my own efforts on my first C&P,I now need to live down the embarrassment of being taken in by the likes of the Tea Party! not good for my loony leftist credentials.

Ernie,
Guess what that’s what the Greeks are looking for!

Well if Germany debt, which arose from them starting two world wars, involving mass genocide and the attempted destruction of western civilisation, can be treated like that, I think the Greeks might have a point.
The Greeks of course were one of the parties who agreed to the restructuring of German debt, as were the Spanish.
Ernie,
Therefore, maybe a little bit more consideration?? No?

Paul67,
You fall into the trap set by the media that Celtic are smaller as a result of there being no Rangers.
Celtic have the opportunity to be a big club if they prepared for Europes premier competition.
Celtic have qualifiers and 3 home league games. These are not insurmountable. Home and away in the next round could be navigated if we prepare. After that Celtic open up what’s previously been seen as a nadir.
Celtic are big enough for the last 8 if they prepare.
Prepare as a champions league club with access to the associated revenue and we cannot fail.
Your article admits defeat. 40000 for home games that allow us to prepare for the big European games yes but 60000 for the 3 home games in the champions league plus two qualifiers and at least a last 16 isn’t beyond us. Failing that and 3rd in the champions league gets us at least a game with Another 60000 in the Europa. Our domestic league is a springboard and training ground. The European leagues is where we compete.

Thought Scotland voted to stay in something.
Greeks may well have voted their way out of the Euro zone.

Don’t beat yourself up!
The sentiments in the imagined letter are pretty reasonable and much better than the usual poison in these internet myths.

This is the first time any population in Europe has had its say on austerity, the govts are being told to have a rethink on their plans to make the banksters richer.

Thought the people of Britain had that choice on May th and chose austerity.
Mind you, come Wednesday they may begin to have regrets come Wednesday.
Last post was a bit of a mess.

“How about a couple of framed copies of above for PL who can’t get THEM back quick enough and DD who apparently thinks of THEM as a great club with a wonderful history.”
If you really think so, you are wide of the mark. PL and DD are not willing to give them a helping hand. They have put Celtic in a position of dominance and intend to keep it that way.
DD first. Has he ever refuted his alleged views on THEIR stature as a great club with a wonderful history?
Why wouldn’t PL as our CE not want back an organisation whose absence is supposedly costing us millions?
=============================
Supposedly is the word.
Its not, Barcabhoy has posted a table showing we are in profit without TRFC and were not when they were around.
Why that was so is easy. They cheated buying players they could not afford at wages they could not afford.
We had to spend more than we were earning to try and keep up, hence no profit.
Its a no brainer if you engage the brain.
Its much easier to make money from CL participation (£15M) than it is to sell an extra 10,000 seats at £500. Why put access to CL money at £15M at risk for sake of £5M?
Again a no brainer.
If PL and DD are so keen on making money which can only be made from profit, then to think that they think having TRFC back is good for Celtic, is to think they must be stupid. In saying what he did I think DD was saying what he wanted others to hear whilst smiling smugly inwardly as I doubt he is stupid.
Without TRFC around Celtic are free to do things they could not contemplate with them challenging, simply because they challenged unfairly (or cheated if you like).
What folk say and what they think is usually governed by what is best for them. You can tell what they think by their actions.
Name one thing Celtic have done, that was in their power to do, to help RFC/TRFC?
Name one thing Celtic have done on their own that was in their power to do to have stopped how RFC were treated on going bust?
I’m not saying Celtic/PL/DD wanted them out of business as that would have impacted a lot more on the other clubs, but because of the latter and as we need other clubs to play against, Celtic were never going to demand anything that
a) they would be outvoted on,
b) would harm the other clubs and
c) would then harm Celtic.
Forget what TRFC’s absence is supposed to have cost Celtic. Its not real.
Canamaler,
That’s exactly what this is about! All week I’ve listened to, jumped up economists telling everyone what a big mistake Greece is making voting no,.
Last weekend when I got a message from my friend, he said, “Greece is a proud nation,” I’ll second that!
Hellas!

Quonno,
The British election rolled in politics and lies it was not a straight vote on austerity, this is the only time such a vote has been offered to any population in the world.

Losing 5 yesterday was bad but not as bad as this.
Jersey count from my weekend at St. Andrews.
Celtic 6 (3 men, 2 girls and 1 boy)
Barcelona 1
No-one else registered.
Tourist bus count. One bus with Red Hand of Ulster, Hamburg Pennant and RFC scarf displayed on the window.

The British election rolled in politics and lies it was not a straight vote on austerity, this is the only time such a vote has been offered to any population in the world.
As soon as I posted it, I realised that in terms of expressing a view, first past the post could not be compared to a yes/no majority wins referendum.

Typical Brit Nat .. head in the sand about Scotland voting for an anti austerity party .

Spot on. CL qual is eminently achievable.
I get the feeling Pedro is pulling the strings on the recent articles from Paul 67.
They seemed to be focussed on preparing Pedros escape route from the backlash of CL failure and the resultant loss of £50M of revenue in 2 seasons.
Instead of spinning the Lawwell ang,e and forensic analysis of Sevco– why not lay bare the failures of Lawwell? Conflict of interest — of course, should have known.
JJ
Think Johansen may be preferred to Armstrong but, otherwise your line up will be close
I suppose Real Sociedad means, literally, Royal Society. Would that be ` Royalty` ? `Royal Family`? ` Aristocracy`? or is it something quite different?
