On a blog last week I wrote, “A point for Michael Nicholson and Dermot Desmond. Two years ago you appointed a manager who, every time he has spoken this month, has put you in the dock for this one [Almaty]. Brendan’s is the only voice representing the club right now and it is not flattering.
“The lack of a constructive narrative is self-defeating and leaves fans wondering: What’s going on?”
The information vacuum from Celtic, apart from Brendan Rogers’ internecine comments, is not sustainable. A week later, calls for answers have become deafening. Celtic fans are not always right in their views, but I always find them easy to speak to (don’t be fooled by a few loons online, they’re pussycats face-to-face).
Plans do not always work out, but when that’s the case, stakeholders (which in this case includes Celtic fans) are best kept informed. Isolation is not your friend.

“Many posters providing factual balance but you keep coming with your anti Rodgers agenda when Rome is burning.”
……..
How about, Celtic’s CL Qualifying hopes were circling the lower reaches of the chanty pan, whilst Rodgers kept £32 million worth of last seasons purchases on the bench, whilst he stood on the touchline shouting at 49 different languages to: “RUN FASTER, RUN LONGER, RUN QUICKER, KEEP RUNNING, DON’T STOP, AND PASS BACK TO THE KEEPER AND START AGAIN….RUN, RUN, CLAP, CLAP, RUN, CLAP, RUN, CLAP, YADDA, YADDA, YADDA…..”
Whilst before and after the CL Qualifier game, in which Rodgers cost the club £40 MILLION, all we heard was how much more players we needed, etc, etc?????
How about, the PLC come out and say that, Rodgers has been given more than enough money already, to buy wingers who can’t cross a single ball, and that makes our strikers look pish, so…..ENOUGH ALREADY of this ego driven prk, if he wants to leave there is nobody at Celtic standing in his way.
BUT, the real problem with Rodgers is that, the last time he walked out of this club, he went to Leicester, maybe Rodgers needs to get over his ego for 5 minutes, and reflect on WHY, no other big club is showing any interest in his particular skill set, for which NO amount of money will ever be enough?
Given the Maeda revelation, surely we should have utilised £40-45M of the kitty right at the start of the transfer window (before clubs were aware of how much we had to spend and held is to ransom) to source a couple of decent goalscoring strikers and a left and right winger, THEN put Maeda out there with a £40M price tag (which Brentford probably would have paid), Idah at £7M and Yang at £3M.
We’d have had more chance of getting our primary targets by moving early with big offers, reflecting real market value, and we’d have had pre-season and several friendlies to integrate them into the group and style of play, and to get them settled in accommodation etc.
But I guess that’s not the Celtic Way… 🤷♂️

Im okay…Im just having a quiet life, but I do worry about Celtic though.
I cant drink the way I used to, so I m not in the Shippy as much as I used to be, or any other Pub for that matter.
DENMARK v SCOTLAND Tonight…Ive taken the DANES to win by 3 goals to Nil. Ive also taken KASPER DOLBERG to score at least TWO Goals at odds of 13/2.
I do not remember IF Ive ever seen DOLBERG in action, but after knocking back Celtic recently, he MAY decide to show us what he can do Tonight v the Scots …and what Celtic will be missing ?
LOL

Most unlike us not to make a good few bucks by selling Maeda, asleeep at the wheel !!!!!!
kingLUBO
The Maeda thing.
Celtic are good at selling players. That’s not a criticism. Being good at selling players is a compliment.
I had hoped to sell Daizen this summer because that was the optimum moment. The failure to do so reflects what Celtic are hopeless at – replacing players.
So P67 (does the P stand for pathological?) will probably blame Brendan for not sanctioning the sale. But can you imagine they’d also sold Maeda without a replacement? I can.
Ideally we will sell him to the club he’s been talking to in January when we’re comfortably ahead in the league, have a new CEO and chairman and DD has retreated to the background. Oh and we have some decent incomings.
What are the chances?

San Sebastián is beautiful. That big bay, all those Michelin star restaurants. Kinda place more likely to appeal to Tories and royalists I’ve always thought.

We seem to be keeping players who want to leave because we’re trying to replace them with players who don’t want to come
celtic40me, and that’s led to a situation where fans who would prefer to attend feel compelled not to attend while a board of directors who should resign won’t resign.

I’m doing fine John.Laying the foundation for a hangover are we????Joking….Take care.
Regarding players seeing the game against Bayern as the summit of how far they could go with Celtic and the wanting out, there aren’t many, if any, in recent years who have gone to teams who can go further. They may go to higher paying and better footballing leagues but, with the exception of Van Dyck, I cannot think of any who have gone to teams who go further in European competition.
Reading of the way that the approach was made for Dolberg seems very similar to the tactics used in the approach for John McGinn seven years ago. Have we learnt nothing in the interim?

Yes. And it won’t help attract guys who see us as a stepping stone that we’re unable to let players leave because of failures in recruitment.

They have to be united with the other support groups. Don’t cosy up and give Michael the chance to say he spoke to the supporters. Why meet with the guy you want punted (who in their right mind wouldn’t want him punted).

……
Neither the board, or manager say a word which can be trusted.
And 60,000 empty head sheep keep the Old Firm stuff alive because the only way to straighten out that riddle, is for a club leader who speaks in a straight line, telling you the truth, whether you like it or not?!
Imho, if Celtic fans could see straight, they’d get a more dignified, honest, fearless, to the point board, with just 2 men and a couple of laptops.
GEORGE GALLOWAY – LOU MACARI – 2 LAPTOPS – STEIN ERA 2
But we have spoiled Tory, Girls blouses scratching each others eyes out.
Who bought the player, the board or the manager = a club full of lying Tory grifters.
But the Tory’s are only there at the club because we don’t have fans who would have emptied the boardroom at the first sign of Toryism.
Fergus McCann created the moat between fans and board with all of his bull in a china shop approach to everything, AFTER, he revealed that the fans were getting control of F ALL club, until his £40 Million was safely secured onto one of his yachts.
Neil Lennon came back after Rodgers walked out the last time, and said that fans were “spoiled with all of the trophy’s they’d celebrated vs virtually ZERO opposition”, compared the most expensive Rangers team ever assembled which Neil Lennon had to face when he came to Celtic as player.
Lazy, spoiled, expectant, supporter base at Celtic is a total loss of identity at the club.
This came about because our board went along with punishing Rangers fans for the EBT/HMRC/Scandal, when Celtic’s voice should have been the loudest to ensure that the integrity of the game was maintained at ALL TIMES, and Celtic PLC in 2012 disaster zone, merely poured oil onto the fire and in effect ruined Scottish football along with David Murray and his EBT cheating.
For Celtic to then also cheat, by throwing integrity under the bus and punish the wrong people, football fans, for crimes that they did not commit, means Celtic and Rangers are both swamps of unsavory characters of whom, no decent football fan should not place any trust, never mind let them hoover out your bank accounts.
Scottish football died in 2012, killed by David Murray, Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell, and only poor Turnbull Hutton spoke any words of truth.
Turnbull Hutton RIP – Scottish football’s last honest man.

Totally agree
Get back to signing players like Kuhn who are attracted to Celtic because they’ll get their move
A vurtuous cycle instead of a vicious one
Kuhn was sellable, unpopular with the supporters, and inconsistent. The mistake was waiting too long to replace him. Maeda was kept because the support would’ve gone nuts …… Oh wait

If we block many more players from getting their big career moved they’ll stop coming entirely, and we’ll be constantly banging our heads agains the wall trying to sign “quality” players who don’t want to come.
I don’t see many Japanese agents being keen to send their players to us after this window
Go Ahead Eagles sporting director Marc van Hintum admits Jakob Breum was gutted by Celtic’s failure to agree a deal to take him to Parkhead.
But players don’t want to come to Celtic…

Poor guy, unfortunately the sporting director priced him out of a move. The Huns overpaid for Antman and Go Ahead Eagles thought we’d do the same
Braun ticked all the boxes in terms of development.
21 years old, 60 Eredivse appearances, a cup winners medal in his pocket, within our price range and eager to sign for us.
We bid less than half the asking fee then proceed to spend £5 million on a left winger to play on the right, two years older and with only one third of Breum’s experience and playing in a weaker league.
These are some of the matters I’d like our CEO to shed light on.

I thought they had stopped coming?
The entire window was filled with ‘club signings’ till we got an undreamed of bid for Adam Idah. Then a mad scramble for a striker which missed the window and hit the free agents list.
The Brendan debate was put to bed when they decided in summer he was terminado, and wasn’t getting funded in his last year.
He signed up to ‘the way it works at Celtic’ and he has now to get on with it and to publicly save face – we’ve got Directors who bleed Celtic 24 hours a day ‘ – Great guys
The problem is the buy low sell high policy designers, we get Shin instead of Dolberg, there is no plan to buy quality players, who decides what players we get or don’t get?
I’m convinced we pulled out of the Breum talks because we were embarrassed by them going public.
