Armstrong, who put in his usual powerful performance in the 3-0 Hampden win over Aberdeen, said: “It was great to win a Cup so early in the season. It is a bit of icing on the cake.
“It puts a marker down and now we can focus on being relentless in the league and we have our ambitions in the Scottish Cup, as well.
“We have put a lot of hard work into every competition and to get a reward at the end of it is always important.
“We have deserved it and it will give us good confidence in that our hard work and good performances do pay off. If we keep those up, we can push in the league and the Scottish Cup.
“Everyone has great faith in the manager and everyone believes in him, while he believes in us.”
