It’s all about Tannadice, your AIM nomad

808

The stage is set. Dundee United, the club who were last to beat Celtic, stand in the way of their treble ambitions, as the clubs meet on three consecutive occasions next month.  The first game, a Scottish Cup quarter final at Tannadice, is the most crucial.

United lost their best two players last week but they remain they will know that beating Celtic at home will make them favourites for the Scottish Cup.  They will be far less confident at the following week’s League Cup final, Dundee United expectations are always low at Hampden, but pressure will be on the club to win their home game.

A note on the suitability or otherwise of a director of a public company.  In the UK, only the courts can ban you from being a company director, HMRC cannot ban you, any more than they can ban you from driving.  In the UK, public companies are held to a higher standard than private companies.  If anyone presents to you claiming, “HMRC have never banned me from driving/being a company director”, you know your being misled.  The same is true for most jurisdictions.

The AIM market requires companies to have nominated adviser (nomad), which carries out regulator duties on behalf of the market, and ultimately shareholders.  The fact that UK, or other, courts have not prohibited you from being a company director implies nothing about your suitability as a director of a public company.  When it comes to the AIM market, this suitability is judged by your effective regulator, your nomad.  A recent history of financial criminal activity, for example, will give your nomad plenty to consider, as would a recent history of being a director in a liquidated public company.  Far more would decline such a candidate than approve.

  1. delaneys dunky,

I still remember driving back from Aberdeen, just coming down the hill from Dunblane and the news came on the radio that we had signed Phil O’Donnell, I was singing loudly in the car and headed to Celtic Park the next day to see Phil and his Dad emerge from Celtic Park. He was the only player that I ever went to the park to see after signing. The next day and Phil bagged a brace at Firhill and he gave Celtic his all despite his terrible injuries.

A sad loss to his family and football was Phil O’Donnell

  2. Lustig’s a big miss for Milan. In both a defensive and attacking sense – two great crosses to set up the Dundee goals last Saturday.

If we get 60 good minutes out of KC v Inter that’ll do nicely.

I read on here he extended his contract.he might get a game now mikel is injured.

    Darnell is a good prospect..

Efe will do a job there too, Adams form has been a bit iffy of late let’s see what Ronny thinks.

Tomorrow moght be a good opportunity to try something new out.

For the purposes of clarity, a Pubic Company is one that is a baw hair away from liquidation.

Maybe Paul67 wants to change it back again?

  6. Just been reading back.

Alfie, why don’t you come along to the next Glasgow hootenanny? I could sell more tickets for your meeting with An Tearmann than sevco did for their last home game.

Why are you such a trumpet?

Turkeybhoy. What has been Lustigs longest run in the team without injury ? It doesnt matter how he got injured the guy could fall over a straw and a hen would kick him and we would lose him for 2 months hes just one of those unlucky players im afraid. H.H.

  8. Mea Culpa

The victim was actually Gheorghiu Rotariu of Steaua Bucharest.

Archie commentating, “Oh, that’s a booking!”.

    Understatement of that particular year!

To be fair, he did offer an “Oh, dear!” on viewing a replay of the assault.

  9. Inter

Nagatomo ( full back ) out for 2 months.

A significant loss . Injuries to other defenders mean they might be forced to play Dodo at fullback.Dodo is an enigma..Sometimes he looks worthy of the 8 million euros Roma want for him but mostly he looks like a headless chicken on acid.Whatever he is, he aint no fullback.

  10. Turkeybhoy has highlighted just how good Lustig is…. he got subbed in the 55th minute but still managed to return to make a last minute tackle.. I hope nobody noticed us sneaking him back on….

  11. All this stuff about suitability is pie in the sky. King will find a way in. He needs to be stopped at source.

  12. I honestly cant see where all the criticism of Mathews is coming from.He seems to be flavour of the month for the whipping boys.Lustig, who I like a lot,has somehow been made into this world class LB,and Adam relegated to poor.Lets remember Mathews has not had a great deal of playing time.Never had a real run in the team.He was horribly assaulted by Lasley and took a long time to recover from it.Against Hamilton,he was tremendous on the overlap.Very unlucky at Dundee with another couple. The boy has said he is now feeling at last fully fit.Lets get off his back and give him a run.

I really hate this whipping boy thing.

  13. thetimreaper…. I say let King and the other eyjit mini Murray in…. they were way out their depth first time around so they’ll do the same second time around too.. let them get the “King” they deserve…. :)

  14. Sorry Turkeybhoy.. I couldn’t resist :) Still pals I hope ? Or should we have a square go somewhere in the middle between Scotland and Turkey at a time agreed mutually ? :)

  15. Darryl advises that McCulloch must be sited for his asault on Griffiths by 3.00 today:

    Good morning Darryl,

I wonder if you could help?

There are a number of people who have been attempting to get in touch with the SFA’s compliance officer by e-mail to no avail (getting no response).

McCulloch of the Rangers has been televised assaulting players from both Celtic and Raith Rovers in the last week yet has gone unpunished.

Could you provide me with a contact e-mail for the compliance officer I could forward please?

    Regards

    Darryl:

Hi John, the Compliance Officer is not public-facing so would have no remit to engage or respond. The same would apply to a High Court judge or sheriff.

We have a process which is well known around deadlines by which either a CO Notice of Complaint or a Player Reference is confirmed.

    Me:

OK, can you advise if McCulloch has been subject to a notice of complaint and/or when is the deadline for such, and who has the remit to do so please?

    Darryl:

Deadline for CO Reference is 3pm today

Matthews is a very good right back.

But his form has been up and down because of injury and the fact that lustig is the perferred right back.

Id live both of them to be fit and have a run of games together on the right side.. its only been tried once or twice.

  17. Yep,lets give the Monkeys their wish and hope King gets back in.Really.Ashley is always a danger, inasmuch as we dont know his future plans. With King we know the outcome.Ashley has all the money making bits of the Monkeys all sewn up,which leaves King and Co potless.

They will never get back under King, never.Season ticket money just does not hack it.No matter what they do,they are hamstrung,a bit like their new loanee CH.

    C”mon the King.

Rob,are you angling for a free holiday,by any chance?.I am over in May to see the last league game and hopefully the Cup Final.Hope to meet up with a few then.

  19. I don’t really care if King and Murray get control as they made such a hash of it last time. My only concern would be if they came up with a new way of cheating along with all the other ‘favours’ we know they would get from their friends in high places (the 6th floor).
