“People don’t realise how hard he trains or how much he works at it” – Kieran Tierney, talking about Leigh Griffiths. Therein lies a story. One young player, who has worked enormously on his development, recognising the efforts of our other clear success story from this season.
Anyone who believes there is a consistency in the application at training of professional footballers is misinformed. Some are there early and/or stay late to work on their own. Some breeze in at the last minute and never hang around to run, lift or practice with a ball after formal training ends.
The club provides players with breakfast and lunch, but can’t monitor their evening meals or snacks. Or more. Some don’t need to be monitored, others do.
In three months we’ll watch thousands of dedicated athletes, swimmers and sportspeople of many disciplines, pretty much all who work on their development 24×365. Some live lives in the margin of early rises and hermit-like lifestyles. Most footballers live a different reality.
Things are changing at Celtic – and have been going on since before the Ronny era. Players like Kieran Tierney have been brought up to understand the importance of lifestyle and hard work. For years, young players’ attitude has been a major factor in determining if Celtic will retain their services.
Success is not just about inherent genius.

Can I ask if you know big Mark McGhee personally?
QUONNO on 28TH APRIL 2016 7:13 PM
Most damning aspect of present situation is the deafening silence of the Celtic Board.
________________________________________________________________________________________
The only language that the board will be answerable to is
60,000(unpaid for) empty seats.
Lambert is another smokescreen.
I’ve been surprised for all these years as to why, Phil Mac could find out anything about the huns but, had little to expose about the Green-huns who run Celtic.
It looks as though that narrative has changed – I hope so.
No lights have been shone in the Celtic boardroom since
Gerry McNee hung up his pen….imho.
Sorry for going off at tangents.
HH
Kev,
Not so much cheap as accurate. On a blog every post is as valuable as any other even if it is repeated and repeated and repeated.
However, we certainly disagree over Mark McGhee and over ways to register our disapproval of our Board’s present stance.
That’s what blogs are about. HH

Celtic only had to announce that if the SFA did not clean out its kennel, we would be doing a Belfast Celtic.
However, that would require Haw Maws which are in short supply in the Celtic Boardroom.

79 caps Paul loved to talk about the sfa and the Huns. But it was all a big distraction while his pay, asters at Celtic worked away with the Huns behind the scenes.
He now singularly avoids talking about the shambles which is Celtic.
Lazy journalism indeed.
Corkcelt. Cqn may now be failing it’s original goal but for over a decade it allowed. Our board to peddle it’s propaganda. It told us there was a clever master plan. There never was. And here we are.
Even the blindest now accepts that the board have been a disaster. It seems human nature is to wait until the disaster has happenned rather than tackle it when the signs appear. Cqn was used to tell you not to listen to the signs.

Yes we should spend it all on bonuses for “big Peter”.
He is worth every penny don’t you know, and he could easily leave tomorrow to go to a better paid job with one of the European elite clubs.
But he stays with us for a relative pittance because he is the biggest Celtic fan ever.
Well that’s what his groupies on here would have you believe. Trouble is the propaganda spreading groupies are an ever decreasing number nowadays.

Only ex celts allowed on snyde are soupies… only way they get a regular gig
Paul67 has paid by Celtic for the last 10 years produce Board propaganda?
Paul67 – can you confirm please? I seems to remember contributing cash to help pay for the upkeep of the site. Can I get my money back?
Mark McGhee is Kev jungles love child, a known fact. Was in the Sun.
Mark McGhee as Celtic manager?
I’d buy 2 x season books to watch his exciting brand of football. The stands would be full – 60,000 would turn up to watch that kind of excitement. No problem..

2000–2003 Millwall
2003–2006 Brighton & Hove Albion
2007–2009 Motherwell
2009–2010 Aberdeen
2012 Bristol Rovers
2013– Scotland (assistant manager)
2015– Motherwell

Would Big McGhee have took it on the chin ala BTM ?
Would Big McGhee have allowed Lawwell to reign him in when, Elbows ended Kayal’s career ?
Would Big McGhee have allowed Commons to piss all over his management team in Molde ?
Would Big McGhee’s Celtic have been played aff the pitch by the Hat ?
Would Big McGhee make an erse of himself by coming onto the pitch to ‘roar’ with the fans – only when he was winning ?
Would Big McGhee have allowed Lawwell into the dressing room after Sunday’s game to – confidentiality-clause anybody who commented on the Green brigade’s bulls-eye banner display ?
Would Big McGhee have allowed Thomson the mib to enter Celtic’s dressing room at ht during the LCSF last season to ‘agree’ to freeze the 2-0 scorelins for the fear of civil unrest from the Rangers end ?
Would Big McGhee have allowed the Kelly’s & Whites to flatten the Jungle ?
Last bit was joke…afore ye start :)

Just got a good message from a mate there, ( best said interesting rather) if 96 policemen had died at Hillsboro, how many LFC fans would have been jailed 25 years ago?
Worth a thought I suppose.

Brendan Rodgers taken Liverpool closer to a title win than they had been in twenty odd years.
In other words he did better than several managers including the current England manager.
To say he is a loser because he in your opinion plays a similar style to Tommy Burns is nonsense.
Remember Tommy was up against cheating Huns and he did win a Scottish Cup our first trophy for a while.
As for Mark McGhee, I have been impressed with what he has done at Motherwell, I like the way he has them playing. The front three of Moult, McDonald and Marvin Johnson are the key and have impressed.
However,( you knew their was a but coming) I am of the impression that in this day in age you have to be liked by you’re staff, respected and have the ability to keep them on side. The last 8 months of Ronnys reign can show you what happens when that is not the case.
Mark McGhee had major problems in that regard at Aberdeen.

Aye, sure, but that was at small clubs. Once we give him the keys to Celtic Park he will get the kind of backing that allows him to realise his ambitions. Kev’s right – get Big McGhee in and watch Celtic Park fill up and thrill to the scintillating brand of fast flowing football he’s renowned for…

Thanks for the update and I hope the bhoys can finish out the game to take the trophy. I checked STV Glasgow earlier but the Glasgow Cup Final isn’t on it tonight.

You’ll Never Walk Alone….in the Jungle.
Sometimes you say it best when you say nothing at all.
There’s plenty to play for at the moment and CQN is heavily involved in influencing events for all our benefit.
I hope it all comes together and those doubting and constantly criticising will man up and offer their apologies. It’s more likely they will move on to the next thing they think they are right about and everyone else is wrong.
It might let off steam but they are no further forward in achieving anything. Others are on the verge of seeing dominos falling.
One more push.

Right offski Liverpool game HH
Regards the Liverpool defender sakho
He was drug tested after the man utd game in the Europa league … tested positive for banned drugs .
Took uefa weeks to announce this by which time sakho played twice against dortmund scoring in the second leg and effectively knocking out the Germans
I really don’t understand why he was not banned after the United game and why that result was reversed . Shocking that nothing was done and he was allowed to play against dortmund
Surely both United and dortmund should be appealing the results .
Got to say that legia got a bum deal compared to Liverpool
Such endeavour!
Remarkable………………..
