KIERAN TIERNEY will again adorn the green and white hoops of Celtic next season.
The fans’ favourite had hoped to bring forward his long-awaited return in the recent transfer window on a loan basis, but Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta refused to sanction the move.
Tierney, though, WILL enjoy a reunion with manager Brendan Rodgers and captain Callum McGregor, among others, before the kick-off to the 2025/26 campaign. The club have confirmed the comeback date as July 1.
The 27-year-old Scotland international left-back left on a record fee of £25million for the London club in August 2019.

WELCOME HOME…Brendan Rodgers is looking forward to a reunion with Kieran Tierney.
Chairman Peter Lawwell, delivering the six-month interim financial statement, revealed: “During the January 2025 transfer window, we acquired the permanent registration of Jota and the temporary registration of Jeffrey Schlupp.
“In addition, we extended the contract of Kasper Schmeichel and entered into a pre-contract agreement that will see Kieran Tierney return to Celtic in July 2025.
“We disposed of the registrations of Kyogo Furuhashi, Alexander Bernabei and placed Luis Palma, Odin Holm and Stephen Welsh on Loan.”
Academy product Tierney played 170 games for his boyhood idols before his big-money switch five and a half years ago.
The versatile back-four performer made 129 appearances – five this season – for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring five goals and adding 13 assists.
The Hoops also allowed Alex Valle to cut short his loan move from Barcelona short to join Serie A side Como with Schlupp arriving from Crystal Palace on a short-term loan move to offer cover in the No.3 position.
