It’s that time again, buckle in!

The final dice on what could become our second nine-in-a-row season is set to be cast.  I expect business to be done but the usual caveats apply, it takes agent, player, selling club and buying club to be in alignment for a deal to happen and if one gets cold feet a deal will not happen.

For me, the position of greatest need is central defence.  Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton are enduring injury problems which have forced their absence for much of the campaign.  The loss of multiple wingers is less a concern, as I realllllly hope we play three at the back and two strikers for much of the remainder of the season.

Buckle in!!

  1. The hands cant hit what the eyes cant see on

    STEPHBHOY67 on 31ST JANUARY 2020 11:22 PM

We couldn’t play 3-5-2 in the 2nd half of our last game.

The objective is not to make the league as close as possible. We can and should use our financial muscle to give ourselves as large an advantage as possible on the park. We haven’t.

  2. Sheep take something tomorrow and we take care of business on Sunday and its over. So lets all keep calm. I’m glad we have not added some pointless loan or project this evening. We have plenty in the tank for what lies ahead this season.

9 in a row will be so sweet.

  3. oh well doors to manual and unfasten your seatbelts , we go with what we have for the back 3 , no new centre backs are we.

  4. The Hands @ 10.58

Quite happy like most Celtic fans to let NFL best configure his players.

Unlike you or I, that’s why he’s paid a fantasy football money salary.

  5. Gallagher, Celtic is high level already.

    It is so annoying.

Barrow play Torquay the morra thinking about it. It is just not the beautiful game anymore.

It wis even maIr pristine before the Maestro.

  6. I gotta say, the actual article hasn’t aged well.

Guess we can take the seatbelts off now, eah?

Do you think Paul EVER gets tired of spooning Lawwell’s shite?

Wow what a historic night .

The senate acquits Trump in the impeachment trial by not allowing witnesses to speak. (The land of the Free (mason))

The Huns swap a loan Rangers player with a Hibs sub, on loan.

  8. ah well – lets hope Soro and klimala make an impact earlier than expected by the manager. Lets hope we avoid injury to the spine players in the team.

I was hoping we have better coverage and remove luck from the equation. Wanyama might still happen , we see.

    hail hail

  9. No Bobby Does It Petta on

So, no more business this window, only the two squad-filling young projects.

What an incredible gamble by PL and the club.

If we lose the league, with tens of millions sitting in the bank, God help them.

  10. “Celtic won’t be doing any business now. Had agreed a deal with a player but club didn’t want to let him go. A frustrating day but nonetheless happy with the squad they have”

    I smell shite

  11. When Shved finally ” explodes ” onto the scene it will be like a new player.

If we show the same aptitude and attitude that we showed first half against SJ then we should be confident going into every game.

This is the standard we have set ourselves and this is the standard we should gauge our performances.

    HH to all.

  12. The biggest question for me has to be, when we are in a position where we have a fairly substantial amount of money in the bank and stand on the brink of repeating the amazing feat of 9 consecutive league wins, not to mention a quadruple treble. Why would our club not bring in a marquee signing or two who would provide an increased likelihood of unprecedented ongoing success?

With what is at stake, do our clubs custodians simply not realise just how bad the backlash could be if the worst case scenario happened in the league? Mr Lawell, how do you think you will be received if the league is not ours come May? Brave man to gamble on this, stupid but brave.

    Mightily disappointed tonight.

I never knew that Hamilton’s ground was called ” Fountain of youth stadium ” ( Sounds like something from Eastern Europe during the cold war era )

I thought it was called Douglas Park, the new Douglas Park once it has been completed.

    Cheers and HH.

  15. THE HANDS CANT HIT WHAT THE EYES CANT SEE

We aren’t well covered if we plan on playing a 3-5-2. And if we plan on playing a 4-2-3-1, then we aren’t well covered for wingers

Before the break you complained that we’d won 11 out of 12 without scoring more than twice. Since then 4 victories, scoring 3 3 times. You’re never happy

Either system we’re much improved since the break and we’ve got plenty of players with short-term injuries who’ll make a difference soon enough.

  16. We’ve plenty of players with chronic injury problems.

The Tynecastle result has seen the biscuit tin being put away.

  17. GuyFawkesaforeverhero on

On the evidence available this week, I’d say Hammond and Lawwell are guilty of a complete dereliction of the duty to support our players and management in pursuit of the only trophy that matters, the league championship.

Why are we wasting time satisfying a player’s demands when the club involved haven’t agreed to his release.

The core group who have dominated for three and a half years are asked to go again for five months. I harbour no doubts about their ability to deliver the dream.

I will though be one of the thousands booing Pedro as he hirples across the grass like a wounded Santa Claus on trophy day.

  18. Lennon must think we have enough cover in defence,Otherwise he would have asked Lawwell to release funds to go and get one,He apparently Lennon said the priority was to bring in a winger, well seemingly one knocked us back Tsutu at Newcastle,We move on ,and in time maybe see Arazani and Shevd being given at least some first team action.

  19. 16 months towards a 9th and 10th ten in a row and our bean counters think their is no need to invest the fans cash in the first team , but some seem to think it’s ok to take the risk and stash the cash for what

  20. To sum up.

In a window where the manager has stated the need to add experience and know how to augment the talented young players we have, we sign two players with less experience than Morgan and Sinclair who’ve left.

    That’s a coherent strategy?

What we will know be told by various sources is just how difficult the January window is to do business.

    HH

  21. The window is shut and we are where we are. Last January Celtic signed Marian Shved, Vakoun Bayo, Andrew Gutman, Manny Perez, Oli Buke, Jeremy Toljan ad Timo Weah.

The three loanees departed and the permanent signings have hardly kicked a ball in anger for the first team in the last 12 months. So why do so many of us expect anything different this time around.

  22. St Tams, gonna change your blog name please?

My St Tams was rebellious and fun.

Yours is a miserable fecker and doesn’t represent me or my school.

So call yourself something more becoming.

  23. erm bcoz rangers have improved significantly and we have shown we are awful with 1 or 2 key players out!

Not unhappy with Window, couple of promising and some may say “proven” new young kids. Was not looking for Owen Archdeacon skelf collectors. Our squad is strong.

  25. As regards Kamberi, would you want anybody that stupid playing for you? When the huns decide not to purchase him at the end of his loan there is no way he can go back to Hibs with the pish he was spouting tonight. All the Hibees I have come across hate the huns, both dead and zombified, with a passion. I’ve heard them sing songs about the huns that we would just refuse to sing.

I said that he was suited to the huns and that he was trouble – watch this space.

The dogs in Edinburgh can sleep safely tonight unlike the goats in the Glasgow area. 😉

  26. I really do hope Neil has the skills to take us to 9 and 10, if he doesn’t hell is going to fall on his shoulders, just remember that , and don’t forget the man who put him their.
