ANGE POSTECOGLOU is eyeing up a SEVENTH raid on the J-League.
The Celtic boss plundered the Japanese top flight for the first time when he signed striker Kyogo Furuhashi in a £4.6million swoop on Vissel Kobe in July 2021.
Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi arrived during the January transfer window in 2022 and midfielder Tomoki Iwata and left-sided central defender Yuki Kobayashi joined the following year.
SEVEN UP…Ryotaro Ito could become another J-League signing for Ange Postecoglou.
Now Postecoglou is contemplating a move for 25-year-old middle-of-the-park operator Ryotaro Ito of newly-promoted Albirex Niigata, according to a report in the Daily Record.
The player has previous experience in the J-League with Urawa Red Diamonds and is seen as an ideal replacement for countryman Ideguchi who joined Avispa Fukuoka on loan at the turn of the year.
It is unlikely the anchorman, who has been plagued by injury during his brief stay at the champions, will return when his temporary deal expires in January next year.
