JAMES FORREST just keeps breaking Celtic records.
The evergreen winger is Celtic’s most decorated player with 26 honours, one more than Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox.
Forrest, a youthful 34, surpassed the club icon’s record that had stood for FORTY-FIVE years when he sealed his 13th league medal in the champions’ 5-0 title victory over Dundee United at Tannadice on April 26 last season.
Lennox, nicknamed The Buzzbomb for his blistering pace, won his 25th and final medal when George McCluskey scored the Scottish Cup clincher against Rangers at Hampden in May 1980.
As well as 13 league badges, Forrest has added seven League Cups and six Scottish Cups in his personal trophy tally.

THE HAUL OF FAME…James Forrest proudly holds the 2024/25 Premiership trophy as he celebrates his record 26th honour as a Celtic player.

ON THE BALL…master marksman Bobby Lennox in his heyday at Celtic.
Forrest also joined the legendary Lennox as a Celt to have scored in 17 successive seasons when he neatly sidefooted a low drive wide of keeper Dimitar Mitov following a neat cross from Callum McGregor to wrap up a 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Parkhead on Sunday.
The previous year the Scotland international had left it late to maintain his fabulous scoring sequence when he fired in a late equaliser in a last-day 1-1 draw with St Mirren at Parkhead as the curtain came down on another successful Premiership campaign on May on May 17.
Forrest has now collected 110 strikes for the Hoops after completing his century in fine style with a hat-trick in a 6-1 triumph over Hibs at Parkhead on October 15 2022.
The popular forward is out of contract at the end of the season and must be hoping he can do enough to earn an extension.
There is another target that remains in Forrest’s sights.
Jimmy McMenemy, known to everyone as Napoleon, is the only Celt to have netted in EIGHTEEN successive seasons, from 1902/03 to 1919/20.
Maybe it’s worth noting Lennox was 36 before he hung up his boots. Forrest will be 35 in July.
There’s still time to at least equal a scoring sequence from another century.
Don’t bet again the wee lad from Prestwick, Celtic’s Bhoy for all seasons!
