I saw “Japan first country to qualify for 2026 Word Cup” and quickly clicked on the line-up for their win against Bahrain. Neither Daizen Maeda nor Reo Hatate made it off the bench.
Japan top their group with 19 points, Australia are second, nine points adrift. Reo and Daizen did not get into the team because Japan have an ever-expanding talent pool of excellent players to choose from.
Celtic used links to City Football Group to align with the Japanese market in 2021. Ange Postecoglou, Koygo, Daizen and Reo came and transformed the club. The years since would be unrecognisable without this influence from Japan. Despite this, Japan is no longer on our radar; Korea has also slipped from our scope.
We had First Mover Advantage in 2021. The value available may not be exactly the same as then, but it feels like we have walked away from the richest seam of talent we have seen pull on Celtic shirts in decades.

If Cellik are bringing a risky fitness wise KT back to run up and doon the wing then he wont last a month.
KT could be a Davie Hay clone but a manager with street savvy would be needed.
The Huns are bringing in the best midfielder in Scotland right now, Lylle Cameron, and we could be made to look like fools for bringing in Luke McCowan and playing him everywhere apart from where he usually plays, the CalMac position.
Maybe use CalMac sparingly and add a few years longer onto his clock.
But….tippy tappy is all
😂😂
Manager has no football philosophy other than being ‘loyal’. Greeks played triangles (Pythagoras) around our midfield General Gilmour and then turned the screw (Archimedes) early in the 2nd half with a quick strike, oh and Soapy Souttar played him on.
Oh well, played off the park by an “emerging nation” 😂
Tony’s now at fault for the third 😂

Willie Miller on the wireless far better analyst than the tv crew, said midfield found wanting

Crazy ‘tournament’, although I think that was how Scotland qualified for Euros (where they were the worst team, by a mile). Will only get better if they ever (🤔) produce plenty of skilful players again. Right now, a couple of decent midfielders and a couple of decent left backs. The rest are pretty woeful, at this level.

Looks like a feta accompli
I actually thought that was a typo, Bourne. Your razor sharp wit was wasted on me…
0-3 eh? Where’s Vasilas Barkas when you need him?
Naismith looks like he is being interrogated by the cops…..fekndick
Don’t worry young Doak and Hickey are coming back

Among it all you do make some decent points.
I cannot remember street parties in the town centre when we won the league up until a few years ago.
PS : It used to be legal to drink on our streets

As poor a performance as any in the Euros….
And with Greece in Scotland’s World Cup group plus the winners of tonight’s Portugal-Denmark tie, wouldn’t book too far ahead for next years WC finals, and 48 teams qualify for that…..
Course I would have sacked Steve Clarke ages ago, when he went thirteen matches with only one win…..
1-0 Agin Gibralter….
Love watching a team of young skillful lads playing with no fear …. Unfortunately there was only going to be one team winning that game today…. and it wisny the dinosaurs!

Barkas is no where near the Greek side
Turkeybhoy from earlier
Putin has nothing at all to do with what these Israeli’s are doing.

I miss the days when we used to get a 2-2 draw up in the Faroe Islands
And the commentators saying….”Ye cannae make mistakes like that at this level”
And here come the Greeks, led out by their veteran centre-half,. Heraclitus.

off football, I want to know WHEN, the world is going to tell Israel to fucking stop this genocide. If they do not then we should back Palestine with the necessary gear s to fight back. But of course, there is no appetite in the west that in any way may upset Israel.
Maybe a wee nuke in TelAviv would get the message home
KINGLuBO
I f×××ing detest bullies
King Lubo the world knows Israel is carrying out genocide as you read this.
We(the uk)are currently providing every form of military support as the zionists bomb hospitals, tented villages(on thurs last 400 adults and 200 children were murdered)more since then.
Israel is a nuclear power( up on Dimona)already,a power they will use without a thought if ever face defeat.
The slaughter will continue sadly,
Democracy in denial,
Much like the 30s
The dogs of war want fed
Keir Blairfeeds them as the poor, weak are attacked financially
God bless every human especially Jews who find the zionist murder machine an affront to that faith ànd humanity.

AT,
I remember being on the Gallowgate in 1998 having a ball when we won the league. But that was when the game was going on.
I cannot remember any town centre street parties celebrating league wins of the magnitude of recent years.
As you always request, can you please provide links as im sure it would be well documented.
HH.
Overriding emotion watching that today?
That group are the best of a bunch from which we have to pick eight … to include in our Champions League squad.
Hmm.
Well that was football , but not as we know it 😩

Please forgive the indulgence.
Came across this and felt compelled to post.
I remember this game vividly.
I took my nephew who lives in England to the game.
Motherwell time wasted and killed the flow of the game throughout.
Goram played a blinder.
Lubo sickened them with 5 minutes to go.

Loved how every time Greece attacked they had at least 3 players in the box …
something I think we have lacked in last few games …
I see big Adam scored for the Republic tonight

No longer.
Out pimping their cheap wares as soon as.
Turkeybhoy…
You forgot to mention Sudan in your reply concerning Putin to Kinglubo about his post on Palestine.
Maybe if KingLubos tax money was being used to assist Putin (i’m assuming here that KingLUBO lives in either the US or the UK) just as it is being used to enable and assist the Zionist scum, he’d write something about that too….
Thanks for the earlier chat guys HH
Not a big Scotland fan,but new manager required
Adams is on 52k a week at Torino let that sink in….
Scotland would be better off with Gerry Adams up front than Che Adams….
Good morning all.
Good morning from a misty North Staffs.
A bit hard on Che Adams – no lack of effort but a lack of support.

Good morning CQN.
Game week is upon us.
Tick tock until Saturday.
Got thinking about international calendar last night after seeing all the games played.
I wonder if UEFA (initially) would consider using the new Champions League format for Euro qualifiers.
i.e. play teams once, not home and away, direct qualification for top ¼, two legged play offs for middle ½.
The Herald is reporting that Kasper was taken to hospital due to a shoulder injury last night.
