Jo Inge Berget in ahead of Legia

715

As always, it’s important to get the players you want, not end up with fourth or fifth choice, so on that measure, I’m happy Ronny Deila has secured a player he knows well. Jo Inge Berget is a wide attacking player, who will fit into the manager’s high-tempo, pressing, style of play.

The deal, a loan which gives Celtic the option to sign the player permanently if he’s successful, places incentives in the right places.

Enjoyed watching the cycling this week? Why don’t you sign up for the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle, which takes place on 6 September. Details here. You’ll enjoy it, and do great things for the Foundation.

Welcome to Celtic, Jo.

What should happen – imho – is that, the Celtic support should stop allowing themselves to be used as – battery hens – who just turn up, hand over their money before the start of every season and, be put outside again, back to were they have always been – on the outside looking in – to the club that ‘they’ built. The ‘bored’ don’t love the celtic support, they see them as suckers who hand over their money, without question. Ye couldny make it up. The rank and file celtic support are sheep. Brainwashed sheep. The ‘bored’ win the lottery ‘every’ summer. The same ‘bored’ who take, pennies from the SMSM for the right to, batter the club from pillar to post – unchallenged, apart from some anonymous fans posting on a blog. The confusion is ‘convenient’ cos – ‘thats’ the way the ‘bored’ like it.

Give them yer money with the best will in the world but, when the ‘bored’ have all yer money and the establishments ‘dark-arts’ come into play, just remember that being a Celtic ‘supporter’ means that yer on yer own.

Not my experience, or my father, or my son, or my cousin………………….

  5. Nakamura was a magical player for us when, he played with – imho – Celtic’s best right back since Danny McGrain – Paul Telfer. Yeah, thats right – Paul Telfer.

When PT left Celtic, Nakamura became a shadow of the player who linked with PT, and his form started to become inconsistent. Nakamuras magical fk’s were treasured memories for me, especially the one at Love Street that had hundom hoooowwwwwlllllling at the moon.

His goal against the huns was up there with, Murdo Macleod’s hunskelping goals. imho

There is a very average hotel down from my place of work called the Cairn Hotel. It’s just off Leith Walk and is pretty cheap. Not far from the tram. I have stayed in it after a Christmas Party before. It’s clean and handy enough for the city centre.

I’m on mobile so don’t have it on my history buy if you scroll back to my post that drew on the accounts there is a link at the foot to the Celtic Wiki page that links to them.

I only read the 2000 report but the supporting text from CEO Chairman etc over the years would make an interesting article with or without comment.

Ban the SMSM and then if ‘you’ read / listen to them and get hurt then, thats ‘your’ fault. Eh?

You go and ‘support’ the team – good for you.

But, what ‘you’ have to take into account is that, when ‘you’ pay money into Celtic, ‘your’ also paying the very folk who, run ‘your’ club and will roll about the same bed as the, anti-Celtic establishment on ‘your’ behalf.

    Get it now?

    ——————————————–

    Again, naw, no really.

Your first statement was that the press should banned because the international community would ask questions. But clearly they wouldn’t and you’ve not explained why you think they would.

Your second point was that we shouldn’t take advertising revenue from them because it’s “pennies”. Which it’s not and again you haven’t explained how this would stop them writing rubbish about Celtic even though I asked that question directly.

You latest post suggests that we should “support” Celtic by not buying season tickets or going along to support the team. Again, you haven’t explained how this has anything to do with banning the press or what the objective is. And again – like banning the BBC, refusing to buy season tickets is a tactic currently being used by “The Rangers” numpties.

So nothing you’ve said this morning makes any sense to me. All I can take from it is that you seem keen for Celtic and our fans to behave like “Rangers” and their mob.

Of the 3 points you’ve failed to make though the real cracker is the 3rd. In essence – true Celtic supporters should not support Celtic.

So naw – I really don’t understand what you’re getting at.

  14. If the rumours are all to be believed, how do people think we will fare in the CL group stages (should we get there) without…

    Fraser Forster (to Southampton)

Virgil van Dijk (to Southampton or Swansea)

    Efe Ambrose (to Burnley)

    Kris Commons (to Leicester)

    James Forrest (to Spurs)

    Tony Watt (to Standard Liege)

    Georgios Samaras (released)

This would effectively leave us with a threadbare first team lining up something like this:

Gordon or Zaluska; Matthews, Lustig (out of position), Mulgrew, Izaguirre; Grifiths (out of position), Brown or Biton, Johansen or Kayal, Boerrigter; Pukki or Stokes, Berget or Baldé

…and very little experience in reserve to cover any injuries. We would need to bring in at least six experienced and accomplished players to get the squad anywhere near it would need to be to even start to compete at CL level. And there just aren’t that many players of the requisite level available in our price bracket who would actually consider playing in the SPL, unless we are going to adopt a policy of plundering the best talent from our SPL rivals… a policy which would widen the gap between us and the rest, virtually guaranteeing the SPL title year on year for some time to come, and giving us the opportunity to try to qualify for the CL each year.

    But would it work?

Unfortunately, the signs at present are that Ronny is going to be spending most of his transfer budget on non-British players, which I fear is a very suspect policy. We need to have at least a solid core of Scottish (or at least British) players, with some quality foreign talent around them. Such is the nature of the game, the environment, the culture and the climate in Scotland, that it is quite common for foreign players not to adapt to and settle in the unique world of Scottish football.

They are just my thoughts, for what little they are worth…

  15. Big chips uk….. That’s a very pessamistic / worst case scenario view on things….

Fraser Foster is a certainty to leave… Van Dijk a severe possibility. My optimistic side hopes that we only lose one of those 2, I.e foster away, but we manage to keep Van Dijk for a wee while longer.. Particularly if we negotiate past legia Warsaw…

But middle to front, the team at the moment reflects exactly what Neil Lennon perceived to be his strongest 11 last season…. When all fit and available, Lennon played Stokes + Griffiths as a front pairing! Commons in the hole behind… His midfield comprised of Brown, Johansen and a) another either Biton or Mulgrew, or Kayal at a push…. All these options are still intact. And I don’t see Commons leaving. He doesn’t want to up root his family.

If we can keep Van Dijk, then essentially to remain as strong as last year, we would only need a like for like replacement on Fraser Foster.

I may be wrong…. But I like to try the glass half full approach

  16. Sorry for being a day late. Welcome Jo to Paradise. Interesting reading between Petec and Canamalar last night. I don’t have quite the theological understanding or rigidity as Petec does but I believe that affords me flexibility, moderateness whilst still maintaining truthfulness.

The truth is there are some esoteric symbols in the catholic doctrine too, that’s why some well meaning but sometimes bordering on bigotry Presbyterian sects broke away (seeing this as some sort of take over by the pagans of a Christian church, rather than it being a way to REFORM the pagans themselves) . The difference is that cultural appropriation of pagan symbols and festivals to tie in with Christian ones and ideas is not the same thing as ditching Christian morality in favour of esoteric religions (of which some sects are clearly more sinister than others).

I often judge religions by what do they lead to, I believe for example whilst clearly the antithesis of Christian belief in Hinduism of there being many gods, it leads to a society that loves one another has respect marriage, faithfulness and fidelity when that religion was weakened by modernism and the sexual revolution it ends up with people that degrade women as we see in India now, the same happened in the 60’s (a result of a strange mix of minor misgonystic traits in religion and liberal “freedom sexual revolution” and “modern misgony” manufactured by esoteric sexists intertwining) here but is now being partially rectified by certain types of feminism, not others, those same types of feminism whilst leading to a “solution” to a “problem” created by those who control society, the meida and these solutions in themselves create further problems because whilst occasionally they might arrive at the right conclusions, they do so for the wrong reasons.

Take Sweden making prostitution harder: Correct, but with the wrong reasoning, its because the “men” exploit the women, this is true but its the exploitation of people we should be concerned about. Not getting this example? I’l make it even clearer then, in Sweden there are laws that make it hard for men to just have sex with a women and leave them, again something that a healthy society should be able to do without legislation but if it can’t it at least seems the “do as thou whil” type of thinkers are being pushed back surprisingly by some more semi-rational thinkers of the atheist left.

(As oppose to the movement I back of the Christian, spiritual and agnostic left expanding on utopian Marxism (belief all people are equal, preservation of individual rights as important as the collective), not the anti egalitarian, genocidal and elitist, black side of esoteric Marx’s writing actually hint at if u read in depth into them and works by esoterics )

However their reasoning is that Men are hurting women and that women have an emotional need, it is true but the logic should be “people have emotional need and sex is not just about pleasure its about both (whether within or out with marriage is irrelevant that its a committed loving relationship is the key), exploitation and objectification of people either sexually as objects or financially as commodities is both wrong and harmful)

But alas those feminists of the lets say non objectification of women kind whilst appearing to be reversing some of the destruction the do as thou type feminists and esoteric media did in the first place sadly somehow the media will find a way to again make them their new demons, we already here signs of that with “if your daughter wants to be a prostitute its non of your buisness if you love them you will support them in every undertaking they do” type psuedo feminism. Not a great fan in either feminsim or menism either as both ultimately are not about equalitisim as they are always viewed through a “negative prism of the other”, in this case the other being the opposite gender.

Any way the saddest thing is that we have some american Presbyterian websites claiming Hitler was a Catholic, you can not be a Catholic in my eyes if you don’t believe in jesus. He had many anti Christian writings did Hitler. In fact actually hating jesus as Hitler did, and hating the vulnerable in society such as minorities and disabled makes you a defacto non Christian more than having sex outside of marriage or being too condemning of those who err from orthodoxy as the society of Saint Pius X can be, or those who don’t bevel in jesus but admire the philosophical message he had of treat others as you wish to be treated. Why is that sad?

They, like sadly some Catholics cannot see the wood for the trees, our enemy is not other sects with different theological views but certain members of the media and their journalists who appease them even if the said journalists are often doing so blindly out of loyalty to some dogmatic political position such as “progressivism” or “libertarianism” or other various “isms” (excluding humanism which is tied to the hip with esotercism tho apparently many of its initiates are totally blindfolded to that fact…) by giving the average atheist on the street amo to spout falsehoods such as Hitler was a Catholic they fail to see the undermine Christianity and spirituality in general. Our work isn’t even to convert non believers into believers its to make them see who really operates the levers of power, its certainly not the catholic or baptist churches etc.To make them grow up from their media fed purile hatred of Christianity (particularly true of american non believers) to see that, you don’t need to believe in a figure head called Lucifer literally being a “real” thing for you to be affected by those who do and think that the rest of the non believers (in lucifer as god) are profane and should be culled and those that remain should be enslaved (my mantra to the non believer is always you don’t have to believe in any meta physical entity to be affected by those who do, much is made of the mythical claims of how Christianity affects your life adversely well here’s evidence why this group of Lucifer believers actually do probably exist and how non belief in what they believe doesn’t save you from their belief decisions they have planned for the world influenced by their beliefs…).

Sorry for the length of that post. Also wanted to say on the interesting note of multiple posters I think I clocked that Singing detective and Kojo where one and the same on that note I noticed a pattern of posting as inspired by reading Aww Naws posts, and I think I have deduced 2 more nome de plumes possibly part of the Kojo network.

Philvis Returns: Always says 2 thumbs up at the end of posts

Moonbeams Wet Dream: “Moon Beams Says AYE” (there’s that scotch style Kojo Uses)

Kollie: “Tails a waggin a waggin”

    Kojo ” “Still Laughin”

TSD: No such sign of but writes exactly the same style and politik as Kojo

In short I notice very few posters that use this signature sort of sign off message That Philvis, Moonbeams, Kojo, and Kollie use.
