Jo Inge Berget in ahead of Legia

715

As always, it’s important to get the players you want, not end up with fourth or fifth choice, so on that measure, I’m happy Ronny Deila has secured a player he knows well. Jo Inge Berget is a wide attacking player, who will fit into the manager’s high-tempo, pressing, style of play.

The deal, a loan which gives Celtic the option to sign the player permanently if he’s successful, places incentives in the right places.

Enjoyed watching the cycling this week? Why don’t you sign up for the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle, which takes place on 6 September. Details here. You’ll enjoy it, and do great things for the Foundation.

Welcome to Celtic, Jo.

  1. Interesting fact about new bhoy: he’s now had two managers who have signed him twice. Solskjær (Molde, Cardiff) and our very own Deila ( Stromsgodset, us). Surely that’s quite rare, especially for a guy still in his early twenties.

It’s weird and strange to read CQN sometimes.

Celtic are doing well, attempting to sign the right players and hopefully will progress into the CL proper.

The blog posters seem to worry themselves into imagining the worst, ably assisted by a few stirrers, of course.

Last week the support had that buzz again, having won a CL tie. Don’t understand why the feeling should dissipate so quickly.

Yes indeed, the majority of the “real” Celtic Support, and I mean the ones who actually attend CP, have no contact and no interest in internet coverage of any Celtic sites or blogs. So, we can deduce from that, the negatonians, the so called “experts” and the “TSD’s” of this world, are a shower of “Thrushes”?

  15. Welcome to the world famous Glasgow Celtic, Jo Inge Berget

I put up last night, that I think we need to be moving on a few players, both current 1st team squad and some from 21’s, really didn’t think Tony would be first, but thanks for the 125th birthday gift on 7th November Tony.

Now still time to move some others, the B’s – Balde and Boerigter, plus Kayal, then a few from the 21’s .

And I would sign young McGinn from St Mirren before GMS, and play him wide left ?

    Hail Hail

    It is early days.

I do not know how long Ronny would need to have a decent enough look at our squad and youth players to determine who he likes and what will work never mind getting in about the scouting “recommended” list.

I dare say there is not much money being put his way regarding a budget and perhaps he is being shrewd by not dipping into it too soon?

We picked up Adam Mathews and Joe Ledley on Bosmans from Cardiff so perhaps Berget could be another useful signing from them?

Maybe the loan deal gives Ronny time to assess everything properly yet still get a player he likes in without spending and Berget gets to see how he likes it all up here?

  17. Captain Beefheart on

Our Norwegians have always been nice chaps but mediocre. Let’s hope the new batch are improvements.

Why the repeated nonsense about GMS? He has been hopeless against us. No thanks.

Aye aye. Riseth was a dud of the highest (lowest?) order.

Brattback was great at Rosenborg because of the system they played.

Johansen/Berget are a bit more versatile, but I fear they’re not CL material.

Sorry if I mislead…it was not my personal story but reading the tedious comments on here by some posters made me wonder what Celtic actually means to them.

Is their love of Celtic conditional upon winning/signing an expensive player etc? Is it temporary/fluctuating?

The deepest relationships are not conditional. They have their ups and downs but not constant negativity.

Steven’s story demonstrated the depth of feeling in the adversity of circumstance and just how much Celtic is a support to him.

  26. Captain Beefheart on

We need a striker who will score goals and some creativity for midfield also. No need for a left back as Mr Mulgrew can cover.

I have a hunch that LG will get a goal against the Poles but we still need to strengthen. Attack them Ronny.
