Following RangersTaxCase’s information that Rangers-HMRC First Tier Tribunal report was in the hands of both parties’ solicitors on Friday, I subsequently heard the report runs to in excess of 300 pages. It will be published by the court authorities in due course but I don’t expect anything this week. Any attempt to spin or release excerpts from the report could be considered contempt so it is likely that we will hear nothing formally until then.
Once the report goes live you can expect an already-prepared summary with plenty of focus on what the FTT denied HMRC. HMRC will not achieve a clean sweep, some matters were dealt with correctly, but there will be no surprises on these pages for the thrust of the findings.
I’m looking forward to an entertaining and final dose of bombast from one of the parties, hopefully in keeping with some of the all-time favourites from March 2000, “Rangers are moving on to another level from the rest of Scottish football”, “the Glasgow giants are setting an agenda that no other Scottish club can match”.
That famous article in The Herald asserts “The Ibrox chairman [Sir David Murray] has spent several months and many sleepless nights piecing together the plans which will eliminate Rangers”.
It does, of course, insert the word “debt” into the end of that sentence but sometimes fewer words paint a more accurate picture. While we’re on a related subject, well done to Sports Direct FC for reaching the summit of the Third Division on goal difference. That manager’s definitely worth keeping. Ashley’s money is being wisely spent.

rebelbhoy72-From the TV View-the right hand goals-far side corner flag-top tier.Hope this helps.
Biggest Celtic price ever 25/1 with pp and even money with a 3 goal start.
Incredible prices.
The Celtic Board = ‘The Old Firm’……….. Not going away is it????????????

Anyway, changing the subject from a somewhat important game of football…..
I am absolutely DELIGHTED to see that the Orgreave situation during the miners’ strike is finally being investigated.
It would be nice to see the reporting of the incidents being investigated as well as the actions of the police.
A disgraceful episode which saw people being jailed simply for being union members, and for the offence of head-butting a policeman’s baton.
Repeatedly.
Worth remembering that the first major decision by the Thatcher government was to massively increase the wages of the police and armed forces.
Coincidence-I think not……….

What is the plural of codpiece?
———————————————
A school of codpiece?
A shoal of codpiece?
Codpy?
The plural is codspiece.
Denial denial, bombast and bluster, hide behind enquiries, the judiciary and the police; get the paid-off msm to puff you up daily. This is the way of all exposed corrupt institutions.
Implosion is always the end result, however.
Cannae wait. But I will.

Truly cannae wait for Barca and The Camp Nou. We can dream. And I will.

Haw,mate-gauny get the horsey tips going again?
Just spent a ruinously-expensive fortnight in Scotland-not a penny grudged,btw-and my bank manager is kinda missing your good advice.
So are the local charity bottles, come to that.
Getting to the stage now where I don’t bother writing the slip out-I just put the money over the counter, cut out the middle-man.
Saves me a fortune on newspapers to check the results, though.
The Battered Codpiece?
Now that Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his titles, and after advice from Shrek McKeech and Fat Sally Le Coist, he has issued the following statement……
” Naebuddy’s takin mah medals fae me. Ah’d like tae see thum try so ah wid.
If emdy comes roon mah hoose lookin fur thum thu’ll get a backhander.
“Worth remembering that the first major decision by the Thatcher government was to massively increase the wages of the police and armed forces.”
It was to loyalise them, make them feel like they were part of her purse mouthed vinegar drinking net curtain home owning middle class, then send hem out to absolutely batter the plebs. There were plenty of squaddies at those demos in police uniforms with no police numbers to identify them.
All to bring us to where we are today. History may make recompense but the reality of the now is godawful.

I hope its no codpieces because thats what I take to eat at work on a saturday ;)

Any CQNers wishin’ to bring back a souvenir of their trip to Barca for ole Dick Byrne should pop into La Boqueria for a nice piece of bacalao.
Lance Armstrong’s groupies still biggin’ him up because he made a lot of munny.
Excuses everything. Aye. Right.

Whisper today for “Amenable”, no idea how strong the whisper is or the original source.

That is a classic pose of ol’ Dick miming changing a lightbulb while putting both feet in the same boot and playing the flute. The flute of course is silent, ironically echoing the significance of the Regency codpiece.
I think it was on the album cover of Cognitive Resonance.
Tell you what, the chap must have spent a fortune in beeswax.

Now were the SFA being prudent or did they get a whiff of spivs?

Dear Agony Aunt
Is it normal to feel jealous of your son?
My 15yr old son is being taken abroad to watch his (and my) heroes take part in a historic event which takes place tomorrow evening. As the event draws nearer, I’m beginning to wish I was him, and have nasty thoughts of misplacing his passport and taking his place on the plane. Is this normal?? Please help, as I might “forget” to wake him up in time to catch his flight.
Yours Sincerely
Jonny.

Hi Lhads,
First of all, best wishes to all the Tims who have travelled to Barca. Hope yez are having a great time of it over there, and that both yourselves and the team make us proud. I’ve been over there with Celtic twice myself and on both occasions we got a result. I’d settle for something similar tomorrow night.
Below find my final update on my preparations for this year’s Dublin Marathon, next Monday, which I am doing in aid of the Kibera Celtic appeal. I sent this out earlier this morning to all of the people I have canvassed for donations. I’ll send out a final mail next week to let yez all know how I got on. Once again thanks for your donations and for those who still want to contribute, you can do so at this link :

Hail! Hail!
Marti
Hi All,
I just thought I’d drop you all a line to give you a final update before the Marathon which takes place on this day week. In fact, by this time next week, I should be hitting around the 11 or 12 mile mark in the race, so I should be heading up through Crumlin if all goes according to plan! I’m just hoping the weather is as nice as it is this morning here but I saw last night on the RTE forecast the weather is to turn colder and wetter next weekend. Never mind, it will keep me cool!
Since my last mail below, I hit a bit of a sticky patch in my training whereby a calf strain kept me from running for 2 weeks at the end of September. I was devastated when I picked it up and feared the worst, that I wouldn’t make the start line for the big day. However, two visits to the physio, the 2 week break from running and a good program of strengthening exercises have seen me through the injury. I was able to resume my training of 4 runs a week at the start of this month and am hoping the runs missed will not affect me too badly.
I am now in what is called “the taper”, whereby last week I started to lower the distance of the training runs. My last long training run was just over 21 miles 2 weeks ago which I got through alright. Since then, the distances I run have come down as I gather strength for next Monday. I did an 8 mile run in the Phoenix Park yesterday, will do two 3 mile runs on Tuesday and Thursday, and basically that’s me finished the training.
Yesterday afternoon I went down to the Celtic shop in the Jervis Centre and bought myself the top I will run in next Monday. I wanted to wear something that would have significance and give me motivation for the task that lies ahead. I bought the new Celtic Anniversary shirt and had printed on the back the words “Kibera Celtic” in honour of the charity I am trying to raise funds for, and the number 12 to signify the year of my first (and only!) marathon. The anniversary shirt brought out by Celtic this year is to mark the 125 years since the club’s foundation. I thought it was quite appropriate to wear this for my run as the Glasgow Celtic club itself was set up in 1888 to help feed the poor Irish immigrants, in Glasgow’s East End, many of whom had escaped the ravages of the famine. 125 years on and I will be running to help people who also are living in desperate poverty in the largest slum in the world. Running with this shirt on my back, and the weight of your donations on my mind will hopefully drive me on to the finish line.
To all of you who have already been so generous with your donations, I’d just like to thank you and let you know I am not going to let you down. To anyone who wants to find out more about the charity I am running for and would like to make a donation to the appeal, you can do so at this link :
http://www.everyclick.com/sandskiberacelticappeal
I will send you a final mail next week when I hopefully will have completed the task and have recovered sufficiently to type!

Will have to wait to Wed but where is this Boqueria do you know?
Kittochbhoy is in Barca, has been since Saturday, having an absolute ball.
Enjoy the game son
What happened to the ole Dick Byrne Mills and Boon bodice ripper Royalties?
Auldheid -it’s the huge market off the Ramblas; a fantastic feast for all the senses.
Definitely worth a visit.
The stink rises in proportion to the well heralded arrival of the ftt.
Green panics in telling of huns threats…..Jabba’s shaking moves the earth…..Green panics again in retraction and slobberingly praises the huns…….Britnae’s wetting himsel’…….the SFA just spin around in their incompetence as they look for a golden exit for Ogilvie.
The entrance to the Boqueria is on the Ramblas, on the right hand side as you are going down.
It is the best food market in Spain, and the tapas bars inside are amazing.
Buon appetito.
THE BARCA MOLE
My Dad will be at the AGM. I doubt he will vote in favour of ANYTHING to do with that lot.
I suspect a fair few people will be there from this site-I doubt they will vote in favour either.
Sadly it ain’t a show of hands,it’s a show of shares,it’s a show of money and the power of those who run the club.
TBH,I think they are doing ok-apart from dobbing us in to UEFA,and one or two other things-but this is one area where I wish they would listen.
