Scottish football’s Joint Response Group’s comments yesterday were little more than a holding statement. Daily testing will move the dial little from every second day. It was a demonstration to show they are still active and capable of responding, should the occasion arise. My main concern this last week has been that the League Cup Final goes ahead with fans tomorrow. Unlike earlier periods, any escalation this time looks like fixtures will be postponed, instead of games played behind closed doors. As a season ticket holding fan, that would be my preference.
Let’s hope protocols hold up between now and the winter break, when everyone in the game can rest for a period.

Aside from the initial promise that jabs would stop spread he has recently spoken of evidence that the omicron in SA leading to huge numbers of hospitalizations and deaths which is simply not true. A few weeks ago after a dodgy late decision I clumsily made a point that they’ll never know the joy of a last minute against the odds winner. The only comfort I can take from refs like Muir is that they , in the end , hold them back . How can you achieve your full potential when the cheats are on your side.
