Joint Response Group holding statement

393

Scottish football’s Joint Response Group’s comments yesterday were little more than a holding statement.  Daily testing will move the dial little from every second day.  It was a demonstration to show they are still active and capable of responding, should the occasion arise.  My main concern this last week has been that the League Cup Final goes ahead with fans tomorrow.  Unlike earlier periods, any escalation this time looks like fixtures will be postponed, instead of games played behind closed doors.  As a season ticket holding fan, that would be my preference.

Let’s hope protocols hold up between now and the winter break, when everyone in the game can rest for a period.

  1. When a poster has “bhoy” or “1888” in their name, I always assume they are a Hun. Is that unreasonable?

Does anyone know what were the weather problems that caused abandonment of the Kilmarnock, Clyde and East Fife games mid-match?

If the weather is anything like it is in Glasgow then it will be fog which caused the abandonment.

  3. Four teens in their starting line up and but for an honest mistake they leave with a point. Let that be a lesson to the youngsters – don’t even think about harming the gers league chances, ever.

It was a joke, after a comment by SID1888.

When you’re making these claims//assertions about who has said or done what, could you provide a source link?

General scattergun stuff isn’t cutting it.

  7. So far this season;

1-0 down at St Johnstone, get a pen.

1-0 down home to Hibs, Hibs get a red card.

1-0 down at St Mirren, get a pen.

2-1 down home to Aberdeen, get a pen.

0-0 away at Hibs, get a pen.

0-0 at home to Dundee U, get a pen.

I’ve taken this from Kerrydale Street. Just read that list. They’re utterly shameless.

`Brexit is a mistake and I’ve never understood why people supported it.`

Because they are , in the main, Little Englanders who want as little as possible to do with Johnny Foreigner?

    ###

And what about the estimated one third of SNP voters who voted for Brexit?

And does this mean the SNP were little Englanders when it was party policy to leave the EU?

  9. Dont think its about shame, its about corruption at the heart of the game here, they aren’t surprised or shamed to get these decisions.

  10. It’s the little things too. All talk about sevco extending their lead but not the mention of the game in hand which if it was a reversed situation they’d mention it 40 million times.

‘Scottish football is corrupt and the paying customer does nothing about it’

The only option is to stop paying. Very few prepared to do that.

I don’t know why everyone gets exercised about referee bias.

In the context of a football association that enforces the same club narrative it’s insignificant.

  12. The Huns are a very poor side. They were never beating the Dundee United reserve team if it wasn’t for a very very soft penalty. We will trounce them in Jane if we have our full team out.

    Yes! But I assume you’re joking…..

  14. glendalystonsils on

Other than us beating them , the only chance of them dropping points to the rest of the SPFL fodder is if they miss their obligatory penalty .

  15. So Muir gives them a crucial handball-penalty. The same Muir who missed a blatant one at Ross County the other night. Effing make you sick. All against a Covid-decimated DU. Watch out for a Covid decimated St Mirren gaining a cancellation on Wednesday when due to play us.

  16. Once again the proof of the pudding why we won’t be allowed to win this league . Now why is no complaint going to uefa regards this sham . It makes you wonder . Are our hierarchy afraid ,have they something to hide , have we leaders in our support to Marshall the support and take things into on our own hands , is it possible . They are not even hiding it now . Makes you wonder is it worth paying our season tickets .

    Dear new poster………don’t stop there.

What about those who have “Hoop” or “Hoops” in their moniker?

  18. I can’t be arsed watching back but three things I observed:

    1. It looked like a penalty to me, at first glance.

    2. Muir missed it and gave it based on the linesman flagging – he had a clear view.

    3. The UTD player’s reaction was completely passive, same for his teammates.

I take more comfort from how poor they were at passing and ball control. We have to take advantage of that when we play them – whenever that will be.

When a poster has “bhoy” or “1888” in their name, I always assume they are a Hun. Is that unreasonable?

    ………………

Not only unreasonable but a stupid assumption given that Celtic are known as ‘The Bhoys’, it’s obvious a lot of fans will add Bhoy into their moniker.

  20. I said at the start of the season the sevvies would win it. The game is rigged and the board r complicit.

  21. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

It’s up to those teams mentioned in An Dun’s post at 5.06 to stand up for themselves. Celtic can’t fight other clubs’ battles.

A few of them have American owners (I think) and I wonder what their end game is. Thus far they seem happy to ‘take it on the chin’.

I’ve said it before, but the game’s a bogey when the punters realise they’re paying in to a circus.

Celtic sometimes do not help themselves in that regard e.g. appointing Gerry McCullough from Radio Clyde to run the media operations.

  22. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

p.s. tend to agree with guisseppe67 – this year’s title is too important for the circus for it to be decided on merit. There’s not a lot the SFA can do if they implode, but if it stays tight they’ll get the decisions needed to win it.

  23. Covid test negative.

    So all set for tomorrow.

Hampden covered in banners of green again.

It’s always such a great boost to get a trophy in the cabinet early in the season.

Win v Dundee U in the stopping their 10 season is best example. Same for 2018/9 v the Huns.
