Joint Response Group holding statement

393

Scottish football’s Joint Response Group’s comments yesterday were little more than a holding statement.  Daily testing will move the dial little from every second day.  It was a demonstration to show they are still active and capable of responding, should the occasion arise.  My main concern this last week has been that the League Cup Final goes ahead with fans tomorrow.  Unlike earlier periods, any escalation this time looks like fixtures will be postponed, instead of games played behind closed doors.  As a season ticket holding fan, that would be my preference.

Let’s hope protocols hold up between now and the winter break, when everyone in the game can rest for a period.

    Evening all.

    Just watched the Huns penalty.

That was a nailed on stonewall penalty which any competent referee in any league

  6. See Donaldson getting a bit of stick. Of course he was the Scottish pro-Nazi Quisling and advertised himself as such. Then there’s W Wolfe, the arch-bigot who, within recent times, was SNP Chair. Step forward, too, yet another senior SNP figure with extremist economic theories – I give you Mike Russell who wanted the NHS privatised. And lest we forget, the colourful former FM, Mr Salmond subscribed to extreme right wing Friedmanite views on the economy – the Laffer curve and the rest of it.

We tried to play the Celtic way v Raith Rovers in 94, and were handed our arse when a Celtic captain, Maestro, who was so scared to take a penalty, in a penalty shootout, and ended up so nervous that he took the last penalty and he missed. But it should’ve been approached from a savvy perspective.

    But that didn’t happen either.

Savvy shrewdy shady uppitty Macari was sacked by McCann who put his fragile ego before the quality of the product on the pitch. To go to Ibrox and a pitch which had hosted a dogfight in a torrential downpour the day before when, Rangers v Aberdeen game, had done the pitch no good at all. So the ‘Celtic way’ approach was not on, especially when we we only had ‘one’ Celtic quality player on the pitch, John Collins. The Maestro was in effect two hops and a skip away from being done. Who wouldn’t be done, carrying the utterly useless, Peter Grant, on their back for 7 years after workhorse, Murdo MacLeod, had left to join Dortmund? and the workhorse wasn’t replaced until 9 full years later, or 3 years after Raith Rovers defeat, 9 years without a workhorse in Celtic midfield, no wonder won hee haw league flags in those days!

    Savvy, not cliques!

Sadly, savvy shrewdy uppitty Macari was sacked in 94, whilst the dressing room clique of, Bonner, Boyd, Grant, McStay, Nicholas, etc, etc, who all put down the tools to effectively stab Macari and thousands of Celtic fans in the back, were retained with improved contracts and they all ensured that the next 3 titles and 9 in a row went to Ibrox!

Savvy shrewdy shady uppity Macari was sacked by insecure ego McCann in 94, and this resulted in the next 3 leagues and 9 in a row to Ibrox! McCann was a bull in a China shop who benefitted hugely from one rarely talked about FACt.

The FACt that in 94 the Parkheid Jungle which was usually full of rebellious rebels, was dismantled, broken into thousands of different pieces, and scattered into the winds….never to be seen again.

Imho, the club has been soulless since.

Celtic fc stadium without the Jungle supporters is like a ghost stadium. No threat to McCann in 1994 as he stumbled his way through the next 5 years till the end of his tenure.

Sacking Macari ensured 9 in a row for the huns, then 3 years later sacking the manager Wim Jansen, who stopped a hun 10 in a row, ensured a carnival status for McCann’s tenure at Celtic. But but but but, McCann wasn’t finished there, he was wheeled out to sell season tickets during the Ronny empty seats era, and when the LNS etc bullshit took place and fears in the PLC board grew as fans anger rose during the clubs do fk all about anything approach, McCann even said after huns1 deid, and huns 2 started in division 3, that…

“Rangers being “removed” from the same division as Celtic, is the “worst” decision ever taken in the history of Scottish football!” sad Fergus McCann.

    Celtic & cliques don’t work.

1994 was a stick out day for a naive approach to a cup final on a precarious pitch, who would’ve complained if we had given ‘the Celtic way’ the day off, parked the bus and played on the break like RR did?

No naivety the morra Ange. 🙏 🍀

That’s quite some article BBC Scotland has concocted re. something to do with Sevco published on a Saturday evening.

Trying to decipher it with my limited intelligence I’m hopeful it means there’s an independent enquiry in to why a number of people were “maliciously prosecuted” by the Crown Office.

My suspicion is another Nimmo Smith awaits.

    ###

It was formerly party policy to leave the EU.

It’s estimated one third of SNP voters voted for Brexit.

To be fair it’s a consistent and coherent position.

Leaving the UK to join the EU is neither.

I suppose one answer might be that they done it but that the evidence showing they done it was improperly obtained and therefore inadmissible so although they done it, in the eyes of the law they never done it.

I’m more interested in how the damages (agreed between the parties, no judicial involvement) were calculated.

  16. Ernie,

That dryborough cup game was amazing. Celtic fans invaded the pitch at 3-0 to Hibs. Game was held up. Then we scored 3 in final 20 minutes or so. Then they got 2 in extra time. Alan Gordon got 3 for them that day. They were a strong team.

You are right though. Huge to he winning tomorrow. I think Ange gets that too.

It will be the 9th Celtic v Hibs cup final Inc 2 dryborough cup ones that I have personally seen. With Celtic winning 5 and Hibs 3. It’s never a gimmie !

  21. Neilbhoy,

My daughter blamed the wife and I for her mega long queue going to Paris last week. She had to wait in mega queues while her man waltzed through.

The wife and I never voted for Brexit, but apart from waiting in a queue, what has been the actual downside?

From personal experience, some valves from Italy were delayed ( cheap crap anyway ) and my special diet dodfood from the Netherlands sometimes takes longer to deliver.

    Our economy didn’t crash,

    Our banking system didn’t crash.

Companies didn’t desert on mass. Indeed Royal Dutch Shell relocated to The UK.

Mass unemployment didn’t happen. Indeed the contrary occurred

.Economic shock and instability didn’t happen.

    The Financial Markets didn’t crash.

    The shelves didn’t empty.

I realise that inflation is rising in all European countries, but in real personal terms has Brexit made any difference to Joe Blogs.

Not a political post by any means, but I really can’t detect any difference.

Labour/newlabour/ the rancid/layeredracism of the left here. You know the type of vermin when asked to decry the inhumanity their fellow human showed when impeding RNLi services in their attempt to save life?

A socialist party that did not alter one bit of thatcherism,in fact it promised to stay within its parameters when Blair soiled the Labour Party from the inside.

And again the nationalisation of Banking debt in 2008

    Not on

Dumping on working class in gen strike 1926

Dumping on them as Denis Healey INTRODUCED those monetarist/friedmanite policies your farting about.so virulent Thatcher herself said they were to harsh in 1979 as she recalibrated Labours rancid monetarist policy foundation.

Dumping again on 2008,socialism,well the Blair version, just not coping well with capitalism.well capitalism got bailed out and we have all being paying for the complete error and embarrassment that skank is?

Just adding a little realism voting Labour.

As President Higgins would say the selective amnesia of the union needs to be considered lol,now there was a quarter of a million lives wiped out i seem to recall in UK state fascism flexing its muscle, any insight into the neo-con cult that was obeyed meekly?

    Naive eh.me nah.

I simply believe Scotland has the social, economic and political to stand alone once the majority democratically vote for it.

It will end Labour as a UK socialist party but being slaves to power once Scotland is independent, the junky wing(sell their mammy for power) of a Scottish Labour Party would rise.and you know what those blairites are like when power is dangled!
