Success in football often comes down to who doesn’t make mistakes at the back. For all France’s pace on the break, it was their sheer solidity at the back which saw them through the World Cup. England reached the semi-final, with little more than a mid-table select, but they made remarkably few mistakes, and just as importantly, understood the importance of set-pieces – don’t give them away and exploit them when you get them.
Viewed through the prism of an educational World Cup, Jozo Simunovic’s chest-high Alashkert was worthy of a red card on the basis of sheer stupidity. It was an intolerable mistake, a relic of a former era.
That Uefa doubled his suspension to two game is no surprise. Perhaps they have a stupidity threshold.

I too thought the club’s statement re the 800 ticket allowance made us look like the tat to Sevco’s tit, as it were.
Would have been a whole lot happier if we had shown up the huns’ aggressive grandstanding as an opportunity to announce that, in reply to their ridiculous statement, no tickets at all will be allocated to them this season,, citing any basis you want so long as it included reference to illegal sectarian songs and chanting, regular destruction of Celtic Park infrastructure, regular instances of objects thrown at our supporters and players, and maybe lob in the incontestable fact that we are only following the path trodden by Barcelona, Manchester, Birmingham and anywhere else any manifestation of Hunnery has ever played.
did burroughs not have factory in the stepps/Cumbernauld area.

Celterella
The huns whether we like it or not is a selling point …. do you think Dembele, N’cham, Sinclair or Edouard want to play against Aberdeen, Hearts & Livingston ??? Champions league apart because that’s not a gimme
Plenty on here call it the bigot pound but the very same celebrate beating the old/same/new huns more than beating Hamilton, Dundee or St Johnstone …. if some hate this new/old club soo much it effects their love for Celtic ,,, more fool them :-)

*Yes they did BP and a lot of the original employees transferred through from the Vale of Leven plant, in fact the primary tenants in the 1st scheme in the “new town” Kildrum were from Clydebank, Dumbarton and the Vale.
When the company was restructuring in the early 60s the only reason they kept the Cumbernauld plant was that they owned the building, the 3 they had at Strathleven were leased and that was running out so they didn’t renew it.
