SCUMBAG MO JOHNSTON – better known to Celtic supporters as “Judas” – has stated he doesn’t care who wins tomorrow’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
He added: “The one reaction that really got to me was Tommy Burns. I was very close with Tommy and he was like ‘ya wee runt’. All I could say to him was: ‘Hey, sorry, Tommy’.
“His kids had been singing ‘Mo, Mo, Super Mo,’ at the breakfast table on the day they thought I’d signed for Celtic. That made me feel really bad.”
Scumbag Johnston’s first port of call was Murray Park, to watch “Rangers” (sic) Under-17s against their Dundee United counterparts. Although sacked by Toronto six years ago, he now lives, near West Palm Beach, Florida.
Having already been invited back to do a half-time draw at Ibrox, it’s clear he still feels comfortable at The Rangers (sic). This is despite some fans burning scarves and claiming they would never return after he signed, in July 1989.
The only time he admitted to feeling slightly uneasy was when he was awarded the best newcomer award by the Larkhall Supporters’ Club. He recalled: ” The people at Rangers told me I shouldn’t go. But I told them I had to go because it was my first award, so I decided to go. But it was a bit rocky, to say the least.
“Three of us went and Ian Ferguson got the main award, but I was a bit late walking in and it was, well, interesting. Did I sing any of the songs? I did actually. It ended up on the front page of the Daily Record – I had to sing!”
He has lost touch with Celtic to such an extent he admitted: “Wee Murdo [MacLeod] called me up the other day. ‘Are you invited to the anniversary?’ I asked him: ‘It’s your anniversary?’”
