Judge King plan by those who father it

950

I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night.  It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.

Bayern Munich’s season has been historic.  They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format.  Real were irresistible.  Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.

After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.

I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.

We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.

Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse.  Bump.

Here we Go for 10 In a Row!

Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.

As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday.  Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80.  There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45.  Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.

Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad.  CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.

The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow.  I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.

This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.

If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

Thank you.

There was the late James Burt from Buckhaven tragically killed on a motorbike bought for his 16th birthday as a present from his parents.

He had a brother Walter and a wee sister Jacqueline.

They had a cousin with the nickname Scone who came from East Wemyss.

Are they any relation to you?

EMI did something similar with the Pistols, except it was £40,000, and a “No, Thank You”, note!

  7. To be fair to Cha Du Ri I think the smile was of the “I wish the ground would swallow me up” type not a “couldn’t give a toss” one. The guy did give his all when on the park.

Some things spring out right away from your post.

I’ve never heard of CW’s sevco 5088 Scotland. As far as I remember CW’s vehicle for the poundland purchase was Wavetower.

I think you are right to wonder about Ticketus (or TicketBus as bfdj called them), however they sued CW for £17.6m and won. CW then appealed and lost again. CW has lodged a second appeal.

I still think we should’ve had him signed up going into the World Cup with a condition that he could go if someone came in for him.

He’s is a key player for a Greek team in a section where they could progress and conisistenly plays well for them.

No matter what he decides to do he’ll be fondly remembered and good luck to him.

We exchanged a couple of emails, so hard for me to judge his mood. But, in the circumstances. . . .

  11. I don’t think there was a Sevco 5088, but Chals green said there wasm and that was the one that acquired from Craig Whyte, and then he renamed it Sevco 5088 I remember him saying it and my self thinking, I doubt if that one will fly, and no one has proved it right or wrong yet.

  12. roberto snodgrassiano – I bet we would sign him in an instant with a name like that:-)

I’d be delighted if his Scottish namesake joins us. Ticks a lot of boxes.

Great energy, versatile, a great left foot, good in the air, competitive and a fan as well!

Got a few bands I could pass this to but would need to tell them what’s expected etc.

It was asked earlier today what Scotland’s share of the National

Debt would be if the Yes vote wins the Referendum?

The figure put forward mostly was £120 billions… My bhoy advises this figure is about right according to the UK Government’s statistics.

My bhoy also advises the our assets would be between a low figure of £110 and a high figure of £130 billions

according the same Government body as above.

Basically one cancels out the other.
