I’m nervous for Josip Juranovic in his World Cup quarter final this afternoon. it is an historic occasion for a Celtic player to take part in. A win for Croatia would bring them to a third World Cup semi-final in their short history. It would also cement Josip’s claim to be one of the top defenders outside of the most monied leagues – that is a metric which is followed by scouts looking for value.
He will directly face Vinicius Jr, one of the game’s top young talents, for the third time this season. If reports are correct that there is interest in Josip from Spain, he may have to stick to his task today, as the battle with Vini is one he will be expected to cope with in future. As they demonstrated against South Korea, Brazil can ease through the gears and humiliate opponents. Any nervousness is justified.
Enjoying reports that Nantes “No 1 target” has for most of this season been sitting on the Ibrox bench. French football must be hard up. There’s a fire sale coming to a dressing room near Milngavie soon.
Good luck this afternoon, Jura’!

With a population of 4 million and non agricultural grass roots to senior football, Croatia shows how much Scottish football is in the dark ages
Don’t see JJ making Pittodrie . . .
There’s yer tea Neymar.
Hope you go all the way jura
TT,
I said a couple of weeks ago that that green and gold Brazilian jersey has to be our away strip.
Great to see JJ’s team in the semi-final.

Growing up in a civil war might have given them a different perspective on things as well

Looks like the attention seeker is back. Off to walk the dog. Have a great night everyone.
IAN….shut up…idiot…
Think yon Neymar read the Backtobasics post last might.thats why he is a special footballer, forget the ego and circus round him.goals like that show he has skill beyond the arrogance. Alas tho that’s football very well done to Croatia qualifying for semi.
Hrvatski jim
Would that have been a Hrvatski red tracksuit top I seen one of Croatia staff at their pre pen huddle?
Zagreb would be jumping if they make final
:-)

Listened to match on 5 live. Twice they commented on JJ playing well.
A few days ago I said I’d be happy with ten million for JJ. Absolute nonsense.
We should be getting at least double that.
CalMac knows what Neymar is.
I don’t know about anyone else but I feel as delighted with Croatia’s win, as I do when Celtic win.
If we want to win the league this season why in the world would you be willing to sell Juranavic and GG in the January transfer window, personally the Hun media are trying to upset some Celtic players, you know what ,BBC Sportsound ,Daily Ranger ,Radio Clyde and them Hun invected sports station, hopefully Celtic win the league,
Clubs will be forming an orderly queue to present their bids for our Josip after that performance
Mod on the ball today
Bassey 20 million.
World Cup semi-finalist?
30 million?
Not that i`m saying Josip is leaving but…..
Well that was raman with all the rangers news tonight again .
Juranovic must be worth at least £5 million after that performance. I would go as far as saying he is as good as if not better than Barasic…
Balanco no samba
An Dun – twice? On TV they couldn’t stop praising him. The lady on the panel said he was MOTM.
Football Scotland in Twitter:
BREAKING! Celtic’s Josip Juranovic and Rangers’ Borna Barisic beat Brazil to reach the World Cup semi-final with Croatia 🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
Come on Argentina !

Paddy Power on Twitter:
It’s all well and good for Juranovic to keep Vinicius in his pocket but let’s see how he does when he goes back to facing the likes of Ryan Kent.
Celtic are a selling club. We buy players and hopefully make them better, sell them and acquire replacements.
We no longer let a player run down their contracts.
I remember Artur Boruc was at his peak during the 2006 World Cup. We did not cash in and eventually sold him 4 years later for a fraction of his previous worth.
Get used to a large turnover. It is the modern way, and Ange has hinted accordingly.
HH.
Jura was exceptional.
Accept no bids until he plays at Mordor.
If he plays like that and we win, the league is effectively over.
Celtic should make a pretty penny from his sale.
The test of the “business model” (buy, improve, sell at a profit, sign a better replacement for less ) comes with the Canadien chap. To improve the team he has to be better than Jura.
Exciting times😀
Lifes cruel eh :-))))

Yes, exciting times indeed.
In Ange we trust.
Hail, hail.
I love the way the Dutch defend. If they get 5 back when a cross is coming in, they deploy 3 on the 6 yard box (front, middle and back) and two others defend the cutback either side of the penalty spot. We could have stopped half the European goals we conceded if we were as switched on.
Hail hail to the football, not to be confused with the true, Messi(ah).
What a pass.
The Dutch structure didn’t cope with a straight pass between Left CB and Van Dijk. Left Cb was doing an impersonation of Barasic on mogadon
