I see a bit of chat on Liel Abada in the Latest News section of CQN this morning. I have been impressed with the player from his early outings last year. Although a winger with a prodigious assists record, it is his ability inside the box that impresses most.
He understands when to arrive in the danger area and has the speed and touch to be effective once there. With the right tutelage, I think he may end up as a striker – you will recall, the Great Swede played on the wing until arriving in Glasgow as a 26-year-old, when an opportunity opened to play through the middle.
I sense little resistance to the potential sale of Josip Juranovic. He had a stellar World Cup, at 27 he is in his prime and we have already recruited a replacement. There is less unanimity when it comes to Giorgos Giakoumakis. Gio is enormously popular and brings a different threat to any other striker at the club. However, at 28, we know the script. His age profile and backup status mean that he is available for the right price.
Liel does not always make the starting 11 but he would if I was picking the team. His age and contract profile are such that we are under no pressure to sell. But I need to ask myself what I really want from Celtic and how to get there.
I want us to be a competitive Champions League team, not the cannon fodder we were this season. To get there, we need an excellent recruitment regime and an aggressive trading policy. I’ll back any plan that aims for this target, anything else is conservative and unambitious – I don’t know about you, but I’m neither.

BOTH CORRECT scores were odds of 12/1. So I had TWO Singles and a DOUBLE.
St Mirrens THIRD Goal yesterday ” cost me” around a further £300….but thems the breaks.
No matter, I still showed a very good profit.

Since September I’ve only been on twice: once to wish Big Jimmy a Happy Birthday and once to ask the Mod to get rid off Abuser 1888 – Remember that overnight nightmare?
Always lurking and getting all my Celtic news from here, especially following match reports which are really appreciated.
Anyway, I realise most of my enjoyment from CQN is one way traffic, and now I am being advised to
share more.
I love following BRRB’s tours of the Sooside pubs, most of which I’ve frequented in my Glasgow days; love following Big Jimmy’s bets, though I never gamble these days; love CRC’s generosity; love following David 66’s weather reports from God’s Garden – miss Jobo’s – ; love Big Dan’s prose and Petec’s ramblings….and I could go on and on and on.
Point is, it’s Celtic that brings us together, but we share so much in common when we share our ups and downs and everything in between.

On such an important and holy day I dislike posting anything that’s not upbeat
However if I may I would like to share some thoughts from yesterday.. i meant to post them after the game yesterday but the pub was too busy and when it quietened down I was taken elephants.
An enjoyable day but the VAR checks were a joke and in my opinion undermined the referee and his assistants. I actually thought the red card check was to see if the subsequent ” goal ” was to be given.
The Celtic Internet is very poor and frustrating , I hope its in the plans to upgrade.
Why all the non Celtic songs from the two sets of Ultras., We were playing well and I couldn’t understand the prominence of such songs. I actually know two long standing season ticket holders who are now contacting the club for a move.
Should games be played on Christmas Eve. The amount of empty seats perhaps gives the answer.
Great to see the magnificent response to the Celtic Foundation getting acknowledged at half time
Why only 5 minutes added in the second half. The Var checks alone accounted for that ?

i read someone on twitter after the Livi game the other night saying how good the celric wifi now was in his section and that celtic must have improved it during the world cup break
well if thats the case then the improvement in his area has been done at the expense of the wifi quality in the jock stein upper
before the world cup it was good, it is now shit and virtually doesnt work at all

With the Firestick you can download a tv service which includes Celtic TV broadcasts.
I use it live as a backup in case my Celtic TV PC stream fails.
When Sky are carrying the game it would also allow you to escape the Andy Walker commentary.

As much as I have enjoyed KIRK DOUGLAS in many Movies, the Performances of the late and great CHARLES LAUGHTON and LAWRENCE OLIVER in ” Spartacus” are just SUPERB !

CHARLES LAUGHTON was at his best in ” Spartacus” and TWO other old Films….” HOBSONS CHOICE” and ” WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION”.
I have watched both those old Films many times and CHARLES LAUGHTON was just OUTSTANDING in both roles.
