Justice without fear or favour, but much more to come

400

The SFA Judicial Panel which disciplined Rangers two weeks ago was independent of the SFA.  Tonight’s appellate panel was also independent but as I was reminded tonight, there’s independent and there’s ‘independent’.

Celtic Quick News has cast its share of aspersions in the direction of the SFA in recent years but even President What-school-did-you-go-to? could not spike what appears to be well established processes.

The consequences from tonight’s decision by the SFA appellant panel will run deep for Stewart Regan, and I suspect life would be easier for him if a more accommodating verdict was returned, but the structure he created delivered what he promised.  Justice, without fear or favour. Credit where due.

You and I have a responsibility to start rebuilding trust, and Scottish football, from here. Don’t wallow in past times, or a in an old victim mentality. Tomorrow belongs to you and your neighbours who support Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hibs, St Mirren, Motherwell and many others. Make sure you enjoy that future and are not consumed by past torments.

Rangers is a former football club.  They played their last game on Sunday 13 May 2012 at Perth.

We’ve been predicting this for months, and if you think the revelations and shocks are over, think again.  Empires will crumble, oceans will dry and galaxies will collide next week.  The surface has only been scratched.

It would very hard for us to talk about sporting integrity and then allow them into the SPL just to watch them getting gubbed.

    NO TO THE NEWCLUB!!

  3. The thing i dont get is, why D&P are fighting tooth and nail over every small point when the fundamental part of their job is “complete”.

Here is a question for the fine denizens of CQN to ponder:

Would you allow them back into the SPL if you knew their 1st team was going to be under 18′s, would be royally gubbed each week, and got relegated next year?

    …………..

Surely the dame argument that we need Rangers would apply to a change in the rules to relegation.

    It is logical.

  5. I’ll predict it again.

There will be no Rangers playing anywhere until season 2013/14 at the earliest.

The club will still exist in some shape or form, but they will be unable to play in any league, anywhere.

It will take at least a year for them to extricate themselves from their sorry mess before they can start to play competitive football again.

As a club, they will never, ever be the same again. It will take them years to start making any sort of progress.

My answer would be no. We can’t have it both ways imho.

Sporting integrity means any new club should apply to the lower leagues and earn their place. Actually earn it this time.

I think yesterday’s decision calls for a Sandy Jardine rant on what they will now do to show everyone you cannot punish cheats and fraudsters and get away with it.

Mon Sandy….lets hear from ya. I expect a tirade of new proportions along the lines of

” We will be encouraging our follow followers to beat up every pensioner they see in the streets wearing green from now on, setting fire to nuns and desecrating every chapel in Scotland. Catholic schools should be razed to the ground and all green cars will be sprayed red white and blue”

Pantaloon it’s in the Record, surely thats as good as FACT! ha ha

I hope he wants to stay, seeing him bomb up the wing is one of the best sights on the park.

If every other Daily record story was correct we would have a squad with 79 new signings by now. And the Huns would have been trouble free moths ago.

    I hope this one’s a go’er though!!

No opportunity for Sleekit McCoist to rally the lynch mob this time as we all know who was making the judgement and what the full charge sheet was.

I’m fairly confident their legal representative hired by the Huns for the appeal will go unpaid as well.

  11. The Paupers Oath…

So help me God.”

Make them sign it before they are allowed to play in Division 3 next season.

  12. googybhoy – that wee scenario put up highlights the incredible nonsense that this 4 derby games clause is.

If the rules are massaged, and Sporting Integrity purchased for Sky’s silver, it may very well backfire big time.

  13. All we’ve ever asked for is that one club be subject to the same rules and processes as everyone else. And that’s why the setting up of an independent disciplinary system last year was so important. The malign influence that was the huns’ best friend for so many years is not gone.

Panels meet and consider evidence. They do so based on the rules set out. And they publish their detailed findings at the end of it. It’s pretty basic stuff – but it has taken Scottish football a long time to get there.

    RL – tempting, but no.

With their reduced income for the next several years we should be happy to hump them in 3-5 years when they get back into the SPL. They’re going to have to get used to these reduced circumstances I hope.

    Chilling View of On-Going Situation.

The following post appeared on the taxcase blog. I c&p part of it.

I put it on here given that in the recent past we´d have done well to at least listen to some of the blog´s output and because I think it relevant.

I don´t think the poster in this case is actually a timothy.

Finally if offended, simply don´t read it and move on.

I have been posting on this blog about the deal structure and my original view of liquidation and Div3 dependant on the moral fibre of the other SPL members still looks good. There is still no transparency on the secured asset position so it is difficult to work out how the story will end.

The administrators have been awful from day one by accident or design. The situation RFC find themselves in today is not that different from my first post, except for nearly £3m in fees to Duff and Duffer and they should have acted a lot sooner in accepting the liquidation reality.

So now we have Charles Green at the gates. I was amazed that he was in the Ibrox dressing room against St Johnstone. In my world he is the preferred bidder and not the owner. Another howler from Duff and Duffer who should be controlling what he is supposed to be doing, which is due diligence.

What is The Green Plan? Well my view is that he has got his foot in the door and is trying to sell a “we can have a huge stock market flotation with this club, the offer will be wildly oversubscribed and the original investors, including Craigiebhoy for selling the share (an asset) will be able to place their shares thus returning their money with profits immediately.

Charles has had some success and failure with this type of deal. His successes, however, were a long time ago and his latest offering Panceltica……..yes PANCELTICA guys (you can’t make this up) bombed alarmingly. Charles raised £10m in 2008 for this building company with one middle eastern client and the cash lasted less than a year. Not exactly what he is saying about Rangers although in fairness he is saying so much it is pretty hard to pin his strategy down.

One day it is “we will live within our means and there will be no debt” and the following day his sidekick Mike Mc Donald (note spelling for you West of Scotland boys) is telling tales of £100m investment to win The Champions League. Outrageous and very worrying for The Bears. Putting a bet on Charles new racehorse Bluenose actually sounds a better bet, or should that be red faced.

In the event of not being able to float the business he, or somebody less expansive, will have worked out a downside risk analysis. The downside plan has the assets of Ibrox, Murray Park and the players so he will sell the players using the skills of that nice Mr Stretford for a sum well in excess of what they have paid for the club and they can even try to refinance the non playing assets and create some cash.

All pretty easy really and they can blame the SFA.The bears will be marching on Hampden while Charles and co will be marching south with the remnants of their club. Everybody makes mistakes but only fools make the same mistake twice. The Freddie Shepherd quote of I am waiting to hear Green’s detailed proposal nails this strategy.

On the Whyte deal somebody has to lose and I certainly believe that Whyte had plenty of time alongside Mr Grier ( who is a major player) and Mr Withey to get things right so I believe Whyte is the secured creditor. Whyte will be first in line for any money raised by The Duffers plus some equity deal with Yorkshire Charlie. Ticketus are suing Liberty Capital from the BVI who I am sure will have assets of a dozen Irn Bru cans and a framed paiinting of the google eyed maestro from Motherwell himself.

This painting was done by Wulfstan Earley and has been professionally valued by a BVI expert at £25m and holds this value on the balance sheet. Craigybhoy has also used RFC money during his reign to sort out a few other projects so he is looking good. Mind you continuing to look good mught be an issue!! Charles and his gang could rape the corpse twice and do ok as well and all it would take then is for Paul The Plumber (of Real Mallorca fame) to appear to finish the job. Rangers could end up where Queens Park are today. Frightening really and I hope I am wrong although I am not usually…………

  20. Morning bhoys, hot and hun free.

Well it wasn’t a dream then, the sfa did the right thing, still shocked they did, but hey.

Now the attention needs to be turned to the referees.

The referees will do everything in their powers to help them and hinder us, this needs to be challenged.

Force transparancy on them, make them accountable for every decision they make, simple really, leave them no hiding place.

Scottish football will be the beneficiary, footballers will florish again

Sort the referees, sort the problem.

We can’t hang everything on winning an appeal. In a sense it doesn’t matter about buying players next season because of Europe, we MUST retain a competitive squad however. This is in Green’s gift.

It doesn’t even require extra investment, just extra capital now to renegotiate and then this can be paid back through a couple of lucrative transfers

1st or 2nd next year is absolutely positively vital.

And yes, we retain the anger at what is being perpetrated upon us as fuel for our fire. Imagine how good it would feel to win SPL next yr. it’s not outlandish and the motivation will be huge factor for us
