Justify hooliganism is grossly irresponsible

211

Let’s be clear about this, footballers taking a lap of honour are not liable for hooliganism.  You know this and Police Scotland know it.  Forcing football hooligans to stay behind after a game and watch opponents celebrate, as happened when Newco visited Celtic Park earlier this season, was a poorly thought out police decision, but the police are not liable for hooliganism either.

The match superintendent’s report, made available under Freedom of Information, illustrates that forcing 800 losers watch 59,011 people celebrate is something that should have been considered prior to the match being allowed to proceed with only 800 away fans.

Losing fans at this fixture should be allowed to leave the stadium at full time.  If this cannot be accommodated with away fans getting such a small area of the stadium, away fans should be given an appropriate section of the stadium and egress areas.

This is a new problem and you know who caused it.  Give away fans appropriate egress at both stadiums and the problem goes away.

And while we’re discussing the matter, running headlines which justify hooliganism is grossly irresponsible.  You also know who staged this for the newspaper.

This is why we need to be relentless.  We need to win the League Cup and we need to rattle through the league in December.  Fight fire will irresistible football success.

  4. Reference the crush at September match. I think Celtic have a responsibility in that they should have called out the Police use of the normal access for the 800 huns as was given when they were 7500. That should have triggered at least a question of the additional Celtic fans forced into the North East corner. This was the Police plan and as such they are mainly responsible. I believe this should have been flagged up to the Police by Ronnie Hawthorn who is an ex Policeman.

Celtic Research has done an excellent job in identifying the whitewash they are given themselves and their deflection that Celtic players were responsible.

With respect to the Ibrox game, I think Celtic have a duty of care to their fans and should ensure that the Police and Sevco have a plan for access to the ground, safety during the match and a safe egress from the Stadium. If this is not satisfactory then they should not take the tickets and advise Fans not to go.

Its amazing that the Police and Sevco seem to be the opinion that Celtic players and Fans are to blame for the issue. No doubt cobbled together with their media brothers after the lodge meeting.

  5. St Stivs I believe that Chris White is an adopted son off DW and was more interested rowing.

  7. If the Board are confident that Celtic fans will be safe going to Ibrox, let them the board sit there and see for themselves.

  8. Yesterday MIT commented facetiously about playing in blue and green hoops. My da and his siblings went tae a school in Dumbarton know locally as Wee St Pats aka McLean Place as that’s were the school was located. This was to separate it from the high school on Cardross Road.

Like the local convent school Norte Dame it was run by the Sisters of that Order and to reflect this and also St Patrick the school colours were blue and green.

The school team in the 50’s played in blue and green hoops, the captain of this team was Stevie Murray and The high school team played in green and gold hoops which Stevie would also captain.

  9. I’m in way getting at the board,so stand down turkey bhoy ?

But surely this stuff from their latest get together has to be questioned ??

  17. We should have released a statement saying our players will continue to walkvaround the stadium,as we have done now for years. The blame lies totally with the Police who held The scum back after the game.Should havebhad a co

  21. Big cheese Athens plod on the tele claiming that there were significant numbers of Panathinaikos (sp?) Ultras alongside known A jax.hoolies

  22. The appointment of Andrew Dallas merely the latest deliberate arrow fired at Celtic, the rookie referee makes mistakes by the bushel, week in week out in games that don’t even include Sevconia’s public enemy number one.

All Celtic’s fault, for continually participating winning and having the cheek to celebrate in their own stadium. Picking up, all the silverware and cash, Celtic have gone way beyond so many missed statements, in the corrupt world of Scottish Football administration, the statement ship sailed when the too big to go under boat, sank 2012
