We should embrace the europa and give it a go …but we’ll need PLAYERS!!!!!

But would winning the Europa because we weren’t good enough to qualify for the Champions League because that good?….should we celebrate and accept being inferior to 24 other European teams?…

  2. Desmond

    Nicholson

    Rodgers

    All culpable.

FYI Nicholson is the CEO in case anyone wonders.

  3. Almost 23 years to the day we tumbled out of the Champions League at the qualifying stages to Basle with a forward duo of Sutton and Larsson, although we ended up winning SFA that season we did get to Seville, so keep that in mind as hopefully w pick up the pieces.

  4. Is brendan an elite manager if he cant beat what was Auchinleck Talbot

And what does that say for our board???

Pish all round, board and manager need to lock themselves in a room

And have the fans kick the door in

    Then maybe

    Maybe

    They will understand

    Shiteshow all round tonight

Rodgers gets it in the neck cause of his tactics, ok its all his fault ffs The board sanctioned the sale of our main striker and right winger despite out starting left winger doing his acl and not being avaialbe. We played like a team that has lost its power up top.

Truth is the board had the means to go out and get the quality players needed to give us the best chance, they failed to do that and the blame for this is with them.

  6. If the £40m earned for qualifying was spent on the team I’d be REALLY upset…but it was only going in the bank….probably the only thing we’ll miss is a number of embarrassing results…

  7. It’s true that the additional £20 million would not be spent anyway. In terms of players on the pitch, we’ll see no difference based on tonight.

We’ll see no difference in stadium upkeep or infrastructure investment.

    We’ll earn less interest.

  8. Btw

If we win the league we have one qualifier next year like this one. It’s the following year that the coefficient falls off the cliff.

    Certain now.

  9. Tontine Tim

He is an island floating amongst turds

It was unnacceptable that we sell kyogo and khun and dont replce them

When Jota gets injured it should have sent cheque books flying

    But it didnt

And we are where we are

    Fuck the board

“Celtic v Karat Almaty- Champions League Play Off 2025” Half n half scarf for sale.

    No offer too small

  11. Idah, MCCowan and Meada are all experienced on pens. They took bad ones tonight that is not down to the manager.

  12. 67 European Cup Winners on

Credit to them. They stopped us playing. We were very bad but they have had a great night.

So let the inquest begin. Michael Peter Dermot (Alison)

What a pathetic performance from a cash rich company

    Shut the feck up

Now, now clunks…. No need for that!

  14. From the kick off at Celtic Park to the final penalty tonight it looked to me like we came up against a poor team that had a better plan and wanted it more. We finished the game stronger but didn’t even make them take their last penalty, which tells a story

I also think we have a squad full of players who have heard so often that that they aren’t good enough, that we need so many additions to make us competitive, that they’ve lost a bit of confidence which is a very dangerous thing in situations like this.

  15. First things first, Celtic should not have had to qualify for the Champions League. However, BR’s decisión to not start tonight with any of his own marquee signings ( Engels, Idah or Bernardo) beggars belief.

  16. the long wait is over on

    ZIGGYDOC1 on 26TH AUGUST 2025 8:42 PM

Perhaps not but , leaving aside the absence of signings for the moment, that tie should never have been allowed by the manager , or the players , to get anywhere near penalties.

We were woeful in every way it’s possible to be, other than not conceding a goal.

  17. GLENOWEN on 26TH AUGUST 2025 9:40 PM

We’ll be paying a lot less corporation tax next year!

    Damn

No one more disappointed tonight than hector !

A decade of failure in Europe. Well done all involved. We really could’ve been a Benfica/Ajax/Club Brugge level team had we even had an ounce of professionalism.

Same old story – will be the same next year then heaven forbid having to get through 3 qualifiers after that.

Pathetic. Hope Dermot Michael and Peter are happy this evening – but no doubt the big bonuses are well earned.

You get what you pay for indeed Peter.

  19. bournesouprecipe on

FWIW . Thought Brendan opted for the wrong starting line up, but in fairness to him any permutation wouldn’t have done much better.

Will pass on CQN ‘ escaped goats ‘ there were too many to mention not only did we not have a Champions League team , it’s hard to pick a CL player at Celtic, if we have one? We couldn’t lay a glove on Kairat in the rarified air of Parkhead there was clearly little chance at high altitude.

The injury to Alistair Johnston will be a big factor in BR’s diminished squad, that have faltered steadily, since we peaked in Munich in the CL. BR despite obstacles has done fairly well to navigate towards Ibrokes unscathed in the league.

Most managers no matter how good, need strikers that score and top scoring midfielder Benny Nygren is already a case in point. Hampden was full of Celtic supporters in the Cup that knew our penalties fate, around 400 they say, made it to Asia to suffer the very same.

Ironic, that our last elite manager MON (with Stillian ‘nailed it’ in the studio, – Why did MON leave again ?

    MOM Dane Murray

  20. !!Bada Bing!! on 26th August 2025 9:04 pm

That was as bad as it gets,we should have had enough to beat that team over 2 legs,as the squad stands,we should have strengthened weeks ago, but they are a very poor team

    ########

Agree, although the transfer windae opened 2.5 months ago, that’s when we should have increased the quality of the first team.

This match kinda went as I thought, I had a draw over 90mins with Paddy Power. Unfortunately it was a Score draw.

Agree with your first paragraph but not the second….they’re not underpaid teenagers…they’re well paid men earning 10s of thousands per week…if they don’t want criticised or replaced then step up to the mark and beat so called “inferior” teams..

  22. Talking about draws (my previous post) on Sunday, we will have two teams playing tippy tappy fitba, the only difference will be they will kick us all over the park.

A draw will do and that’s my prediction.

  23. 210 mins of not managing to score against a team not in the “standard” of the spl

Is pretty hard to forgive for

    1. The Players

    2. The Manager and Backroom staff

    3. The board

As per Celtic its a shitshow, across many levels

  24. Whilst the manager is not blameless the club has basically sold the best two attackers and not replaced them. One long term injury in the same front line again not replaced – how can it be a surprise we are struggling up front?? The players were very poor tonight and the frontline is gutted so how can any reasonable person put the manager in the firing line first…..

  25. I also believe we have a squad of players who believe their own press and believe they think they are better than what they are
