    I don’t think theres a self-imposed limit on spending. Like most of us I don’t know anything about our dealings this window, but after spending 20m on two players last Summer I don’t see why we wouldnt do it again if we could and wanted to. I think it’s as simple as we can’t get good players to come to Celtic early in the window. I want it as much as anyone but you can’t will it to happen.

     

     

    As a football manager Brendan is as good as we’re likely to get. The other stuff, I think we can do better and have

    Just a wee thought here but mibbees just mibbees DD offered BR a contract extension and he knocked it back saying 3 years is enough, so he decided tae only give him enough to get by his season basing this on his throwing money about like a man with no erms last season and buying players that are NOT fulfilling the potential their cost demanded, well in Scottish fitba terms.

    All our other European exits at the qualifiers were bad enough but tonight was a real low point. The opposition were unspeakably poor , it is our worst European performance in decades.

     

     

    Everyone to blame , seems to me that for the players to play so badly , they’ve got spooked by the CL quality thing …..other explanations equally valid

    It’s a slightly sobering thought that we got knocked out by the team sitting third in the Kazakhstan premier league.

    That was institutional failure for a club like Celtic.

     

     

    Last agm the bank balance was explained away for that rainy day we may not qualify for CL.

     

    To me it was a note of preparing to fail.

     

    Not a hint of ambition to step on our build up

     

    and strengthen from a strong position.

     

     

    Every Board member has failed in their duty

     

    To comfortable in position,no dynamism and no new blood introduced to a board in a long time.

     

    That needs to change

    sell us to an Arab consortium ! who cares anyway – football has lost its soul to money! At least they would attend our matches unlike Desmond!

     

     

    I’m not so entitled to think we should win every game and qualify for every tournament. What I dont accept is a lack of attacking intent in ANY celtic team. We passed the ball to the point our players were bored with it. Why not go 3-5-2 ?? maybe that would bring the best out in Idah , Kenny , Yamada. Scales on the left wing at times made my stomach churn – why ? he’s a gangly carelsss center back.

     

     

    Forget the board – This is on Rodgers fear of a Diddy team – utter rotten football that I dont identify with!

     

     

    He must be sacked or he must walk without comp. That needs to happen to give us a jolt – The board need to spend to give us a jolt. If we don’t , we are in for a shocker of a season.

    Clubs are motivated by winning trophies and progressing. Celtic are motivated by a healthy bank balance and financial rewards for the suits.

    Thankfully I’ve been distracted since FT by the company of a wonderful friend who has no interest in football.

     

     

    My last post tonight: I’ve listened to this shill repeat ad nauseam how he will be here for 3 years and see out his contract……….unless he’s sacked.

     

     

    Let’s now look at things using Occam’s Razor – how can an “elite” manager with superior resources fail to put out and motivate a team to overcome a pub team over 180 minutes of football, 30 minutes of extra time and a penalty shoot out?

     

     

    Because he WANTS to be sacked.

    Can someone tell me why it is acceptable for a Celtic manager to lose its biggest games if the season to a club with a budget the size of Livingston. All he does is talk down his squad. No wonder they go out and play like frightened rabbits. Thus is on him and HIS recruitment guy.
